It is popular for ski. In winter, this place gets covered with snow and gives A splendid view ☺. In summer you can go for gurson bugyal Trek or mule riding. Gypsy car is also available.

Everything was great except the time we choose to visit. We came before Christmas, the best time to visit for full experience of snow ❄ and related activities will be from 1st week of January.

The place is awesome, we found snow covering till our ankle, we have all the fun and the view of the heaven🤩

On the way you would get shops providing little snacks, you would need to take ropeway and then mule riding or something similar if not intending to trekking (bring gears for trekking, however they will provide for activities) for around 2 hours to reach top where you would find snow and activities.

Auli is just awesome 😘 too much snowfall and the main thing is that things are not overpriced you will get everything at a reasonable price and peoples of that place are so kind and very helpful. Each and every person is ready to guide you. Police Security is also very good. I visited in the month of February 2024, and i got snowfall which was the best experience ever, I didn't see snow in my past but in Auli I saw snow for the first time. I would definitely suggest you to visit Auli because manali and shimla are now very overcrowded places.

An amazing and beautiful place surrounded by himalayan peaks and greenery. There is a bugyal “gurson bugyal” 3 km up the artificial lake of auli and from that point views are not less than heaven. we can get views of all the peaks chaukhamba, badrinath peak, nanda peak, hathi parvat etc. and a 360 view of himalayan range. If going to auli must go to gurson bugyal.

I went there when I was stuck in Joshimath during my trek to the valley of flowers due to landslides and road blocks on August 15. Though I couldn't see ice for obvious reasons.. but the view and experience was just mesmerizing. Will update it further after visiting this place in winter as well 😋

I have been to Auli multiple times and each time the view was amazing whether it be winters or summer.

I was there in the Feb when it was completely covered with snow and hence the trek to final point was moderate and in summer the Trek was easy as there was no snow however the view points at the top made it worth being there.

One can take 2 -4 hours in climbing the top depending on the physical conditions also the rope way can be used instead of trekking.

Auli is a famous hill station and a popular winter destination as ski resort of India, known for its snowy slopes, Auli has everything that an ideal tourist dreamed for like Himalayan Views, Meadows, adventure activities, romantic vistas, cable cars and much more.

From snow-covered peaks to wooden huts, Auli is not less than a perfect European village. It is situated at an astonishing height of 2505 meter which offers a magnificent view of crescent Himalayas.

Auli destination is accessible throughout the year. Most visitors come between November and February when snow skiing is at its peak and the Auli weather is cold. Climate-wise, auli best time to visit is between March and June. The ideal Auli temperature for hanging out with loved ones on a trip and taking in the sights.

In the 8th century AD, the great Guru Adi Shankaracharya is said to have tread on these fields. The temple built by him at Joshimath still exists. For hundreds of years, the colorful semi-nomadic tribes of the Bhotiyas, of the Mongolian stock, traversed the trails at Auli, locally called Thatauli. Their longhaired yaks, laden with an assortment of goods, assisted them in conducting a flourishing trade with nearby Tibet.

Before Auli was developed as a ski resort, its slopes were the training ground for men of valor and courage-the ski-equipped men of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force. Among the awesome, legendary peaks ranged round Auli, the 23,490-feet-high Trishul (literal meaning, the strident of Lord Shiva) was the scene of a unique expedition in 1958. The mountaineers took four days to climb the peak and only 90 minutes to ski down to the base camp.

I have visited Auli during the off-season when not many people prefer to travel to this place in May-June. It is a serene and picturesque location near Joshimath, offering breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains, beautiful sunsets, forest trails, cable car rides, and much more. For me, it was a peaceful retreat, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of being there during the off-season and would highly recommend it.

It is the best place exhilarating skiing opportunities to both beginners as well as skilled skiers.

1. Best way to reach Auli is to take shared jeeps from Joshimath and it is 12- 13 kms far from Joshimath.
2. Joshimath to Auli ropeway (The 4.5 km ropeway, considered one of Asia's largest, connects Joshimath located at 6000 ft with the skiing destination of Auli at an altitude of 9000 feet.) required time of 24 mins but you should wake up early and wait in the que for the tickets (usually there is rush for tickets, and it includes to & fro fare). But you will surely enjoy the view from the ropeway.
3. During the snowy winter they offers skiing for the beginners as well as professionals.

MUST VISIT PLACE

Good for social isolation or best for solo trip but dont plan a family or friends trip you will feel useless without snow view is mesmerizing but it will fade with days i was there for 4 days and 4 nights it was a solo trip with only one guy, if there is no snow just find some other place do not stay for more then 2 days this duration is enough to explore about that place including tracking and everything. prefer your personal vehicle for the trip. if you are a true nature lover you will be stunned for some time .and last but not the least.💢💢💢 please do not go into jungle and ask locals about your destination because i have heard so many stories about wild animals like leopard and bears so please be safe💢💢💢 you can D.M me for any questions. ig.jaivikthomson
