Bhavishya Badri Temple

It is one of the hidden gems near Badrinath. It is about 30 km from Joshimath. The route is stunningly beautiful. The temple is small and peaceful. It has tall pine (deodar or devadharu) trees all around. There is a place just behind the temple from where various peaks like Badrinath, Nandadevi, etc can be seen. It is very good place to spend some time in meditation.

Beautiful temple on 2790m surrounded by pine forests. Very peaceful place with a nearby village with friendly locals. There is a water source and a river flowing thought the forest and you can walk higher up the mountain. There is a new high mountain road coming to the temple. If only people would learn not to put trash everywhere.

This place has ultimate peace. Your mind get fresh by watching the scenery around this place.

Synonyms: Anemone rivularis, Anemone geraniifolia

River Anemone is an erect silky-haired perennial plant found on forest margins, grassy slopes, streamsides and lakesides in the Himalayas. It is 30-90 cm tall. Basal leaves are rounded, deeply 3-lobed, silky haired on both sides and long stalked. Lobes are further cut and shallowly toothed. Flowers are white, often flushed violet outside, 2-5 cm across, in lax umbel below which occur a ring of narrowly 3-lobed, sharply toothed leaves. The most interesting part of the plant is it unusual blue anthers.
Medicinal uses:  In Nepal, wounds are cleaned regularly with a decoction of the roots of River Anemone. The roasted seeds are added to pickles. Sniffing crushed leaves is said to relieve headache. In India, the paste of the roots is applied on boils to exude pus.

It is 31 Km from Auli Joshimath Market and after Tapovan. Great scenic View of Mountains all through the Road. I visited in Feb 2024 with ICE allover the temple, Jai Bhavishya Badri....

You will reach there after trekking 5 minutes.. almost 1.5 hrs distance from joshimath

It was a memorable experience.The temple is located at a very beautiful place with jaw dropping landscapes especially the view at the back of the temple.

In Future Sri Badrinath will be available here only, as the existing badrinath dham will disappear.

Very divine & exotic place with a temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Belief is that in future time, the present badri (vishal) will disappear & bhavishya badri will be the abode for devotees to workship! Amid lush green covered mountains, this temple is very peaceful & remote
