This is the only good beach to visit. It is quite near downtown. One can stroll on sandy. Also the camel ride is to enjoy. Some other beaches like baby beach etc are private beaches having hotels and resorts. Payamballam beach is free for the public.

It's a really nice beach. Awesome view and well maintained. I went during summer evening to see the sunset view.
Very lively beach with so many fine dine eateries nearby.
Couples and friends can easily spend lively 2-3 hours here.
I stayed after the sunset also. According to me the evening time is the best to visit this beach. But if you want to avoid crowd then I would suggest baby beach, thoddata beach. There are so many other beaches in Kannur which attract quite less footfall till now. But those are the real gem.
One thing I must mention here. Getting a parking at this place is really hectic and a real pain here. The parking thing is mismanaged here. Also due to road side parking the entire road get huge traffic blockage throughout the evening.

A very cool beach but known for the graves of the political & influential leaders. This is the longest beach in Kannur district.
A good walk in beach too

Best beach in kannur to visit both in morning and evening. Evening bit crowded ..enjoyed walking and playing on the beach...it has several restaurants by the side and many local vendors also sell some good chats and icecream

Spent an evening alone on the sand of the beach. It was quiet refreshing. Walked from one end to the other and back. Must visit beach at Kannur. It's nearly 3 km from Kannur railway station. Rs 60 by 🛺

I have been visiting this beach since my childhood. Payyambalam Beach during the late 1980s and early 90s is no different from what the beach is today. Over the years very little has changed here. This beach like many other beaches in our kerala is clean.

It's a good place to spend some time with your family. Walking in the beach itself gives me immense pleasure. Watching the beach and endless sea gives me feeling about how small we are actually. There is no ego here. It just pure uncorrupted connection with nature.

There are some foodstuffs available in the beach. They serve snacks, tea ,coffee among other delicacies.

One of the cleanest ( non-blue flag) beaches in India. Luckily this is one of the lesser known tourist destinations hence, it doesn't attract a lot of crowd and the challenges that come with it. The beach is lined up with decent homestays , resorts, cafes and restaurants. There are limited adventure sport options and even camel rides available. You can spend quality time with your family relaxing and enjoying the views of the Arabian sea here.

What a mind-blowing beach this is, it’s a neat beach even after being so crowded with visitors, those sand though, it just won’t stick to foot or foot wear 👣
Take a look at the posted surrounding, you get too many food items around.

One of the best beach to spend long time with friends or family, shore is very clean. And even the water to. Best place to play.
Even for jogging to. And we have many fast food and food trucks available next the sea walk. And local ppl have converted thier Lands into parking and charge according.
Suggested to look up the sea road end point. Can able to find the packing. As it's a single road. We have one side parking.
Good place to watch the mesmerizing sunset.

The Payyambalam Beach is one of the best known beaches in Kannur. Also known as the 'Walking Beach' because of a 4 km long stretch of golden sand for beach walkers. It is what we visited on our first evening in Kannur. A secluded location it is known for providing one with an opportunity to simply relax or even enjoy a family picnic in absolute tranquillity. The beach is a favourite hangout for locals.
The entrance to the beach is a narrow bridge over a small canal and immediately on the right is an area where monuments to commemorate the lives of local political leaders is erected.
A cliff forms a natural barrier on one side atop which is a beach garden which needs maintenance. The beach is not very crowded, but one can always find secluded spots due to the long stretch of sand. Though good for swimming and sunbathing it is not like the beaches of Goa. One may feel comfortable to confine to the local dressing code.
The biggest bug bear of this beach is the lack of parking space. Most park their vehicles on the sides of the narrow road thereby cluttering it. A public parking space exists sightly inside, which is just where we pushed in our vehicle, but yes there is an issue for parking.
Overall a very nice beach and a must visit for anyone who wants some ME time.

The Payyambalam Beach is an impeccably maintained destination in Kannur. This secluded location is known for providing one with the opportunity to simply relax or enjoy a family picnic in absolute tranquillity. Surfing and swimming options are also available for those who seek a little adventure. Being close to Kannur town has made it a favourite haunt for tourists and locals alike.

Payyambalam beach is the second most popular beach in Kannur district. There are several entertaining spots here that stretch for kilometers. The tombs of the important leaders of Kerala are also right next to the beach. Lately horse riding and boating have been taking place on the beach
