Great Place…
Nice Temple with good atmosphere and without rush…
Historic builded temple with so many steps and direction to see all the Ashtalaxmi.
Have some small temples of other gods in the premises.
In front of sea shore..
Nice view of see from the top of the temple.

The architecture of the temple is so unique. I never visited a storied temple. The main temple is a two storey building which you can't say from the look of it as it just appears as a gopuram.
The beach is very near so you can even enjoy the sounds of beach.
You can visit all rupas of Lakshmi's and even though it's a ammavaru temple there are small small temples of other gods as well.
But it's always better to leave the place early and go to the public beach than the beach that's near this temple as it's more of a private place

Beautiful Temple closest one to the beach. I have added some pics for reference purpose. Just astonishing view for the beach lovers is visible from the top of the temple.
All the 8 Laxmi swarupas are there in just one single temple.

Another famous landmark of Besant Nagar.

This temple also built like three floor like temple. In bottom main deity is there. Other eight devi (Lakshmi) are in two floors and beside the main deity.
I am against to take photo on main deities. However by mistake i took Vidya Lakshmi.
From top seeing sea very very beautiful. you can enjoy the nature and also divine blessing.
Festival days and Friday more rush will be there.

I already seen this temple before 10 years. Now this temple is required maintenance.

The temple built in 1976 is quite old . Since the takeover by HR dept of TN the temple is unkept and is not neat. Though the temple Is an architect marvel the unhealthy unhygienic lead roads is pathetic. God save us .

What a Devine feeling.. Blessed to visit the temple. It's a rare temple where you can see all avatars of Goddess Lakshmi worship at one place.

The architecture of the temple is unique, where stairs build from inside gopuram to reach the top. Its a small pathway.

The temple is always crowded during weekends and festival days, it's better to visit the temple during weekday to feel the architecture and spend some time to understand our history.

Aarchan items ,we can get in nearby flower shops, near the temple.I felt it's a bit costly.

The fantastic view of the beach from the top of the temple is mind-blowing .

Definitely a must visit temple for all ages, to get peace of mind, spend some quality time with family during weekends to charge up for the coming week..

A great peaceful place. The eight idols of different forms of Lakshmi is great. You get deleted in divinity. You also have annadanam for 100 members at 12 noon. The beach behind the temple is super

The temple represents 8 roops of godess Laxmi and also have a small temple with all avatars of God Vishnu..
The temple is situated adjacent to a beautiful and less crowded beach..
Perfect for divine and spirituality..

The temple is dedicated to the goddess Lakshmi, and her eight primary forms – the Ashtalakshmi – the giver of all eight forms of wealth, namely, offspring, success, prosperity, wealth, courage, bravery, food, and knowledge.

& don't forget to take the enjoyment of sea ⛵ 🌊 high tide and very less crowd. Best time to visit after 4pm. Check openings and closings time before visit.

A very divine place located very close to the beach. The temple is pretty big and stairs need to be climbed inside the temple to see all the ashta Lakshmi. The path to all goddesses is very narrow and if you are claustrophobic, be wary.

This is a crowded temple almost all the days. So plan accordingly. There is a special entrance for ₹20, but it is not worth it.

The view from above the temple is amazing. The entire beach and the horizon is visible from atop the temple. Visiting during sunset would make the experience all the more amazing.

Parking is a trouble here. The road is sometimes closed during peak hours and there are many vehicles going to the temple. So it is better to park at a nearby location. I had parked 500m away from the temple. However, if you decide to take your vehicle to the temple there is ample parking space.

Visiting the beach after the temple is a must. A great joy overall.

One of the oldest temples in Chennai which is very famous for the idols of 8 forms of Lakshmi. Gajalakshmi, Adhi Lakshmi, Dhanalakshmi, Santhana Lakshmi, Vidhya Lakshmi, Dhanyalakshmi, Dhairiyalakshmi, Vijayalakshmi... The temple has another name as Mahalakshmi Temple giving dharshan along with the lord Govindha (Perumal). The construction is unique in this temple. It is constructed with 3 Floors where we need to visit each Lakshmi Idols via a defined pathway in which only one person can walk at a time. People should follow each one after another to worship without any disturbance of others. Overall it was a great experience for us on the auspicious day of Aadi Pooram on 22-Jul-2023.

Located right next to the best. There is free entry and special entry too. Along with Astalakshmi there is Ganesha, Hanuman, Dhanvantari, Vishnu and Perumal. Temple is like a maze. Once you reach floor one the sea view is par excellence.

Also, showing dasha avatar statues. Very old temple. Surprisingly not crowded in-spite being Friday.

Such a nice temple, loved the architecture. Situated near sea shore, the view is awesome. Offerings to Goddess such as bangles, coconut are available near temple premises. Ashtalakshmis i.e 8 forms of Lakshmi devi is the main feature of this temple.
