A peaceful temple to vist. Since we went on a working day there was no rush and we could spend time and we weren't rushed. The temple opens at 4am and closes at 12pm., giving us enough time for a good darshanam. The temple has ample parking space. The temple members were polite and happy to help and guide us. It was a pleasant experience. If you are traveling from a distance then carry a water bottle and some snacks as there no eateries close by. We need to walk/drive towards the main road to find an eatery.

This Hindu temple, widely renowned, is dedicated to the worship of Naga deities. When you visit to attend one of the evening rituals, such as sarppabali, you can enjoy a splendid lakeside sunset view. The temple's primary deities are the Saptamatrukkal, also known as the seven mother goddesses. They have a facilitated a huge parking ground as well.

. Ameda Temple is an ancient Hindu temple, mainly dedicated to Snake Gods - Naga Raja & Naga Yakshi -
. This temple is one out of the FOUR most famous Naga Raja temples of Kerala.

. Also, the temple has "Sapthamatrukal" - they are:
Brahmani (Saraswati) Maheswari (Rudrani) Kaumari (Karttikeyani) Vaishnavi (Lakshmi) Varahi, Indrani and Chamunda (Chamundi).

. I was informed that Veerabhadran & Ganapathy are also present.

. According to Legends, this temple was consecrated by Lord Parasurama.

. Sarpa Bali is one of the importance "Vazhipadu" here.

. Ample car parking is provided next to the temple, adjacent to the Vembanad Lake - with an excellent lake view.

. Male & female toilets are available next to the temple.
. Expect crowd even on regular days.

The parking lot has a good scenario to enjoy.
The temple is crowded at times , but it will never disturb you in any way possible.

You can offer garlands to God , you will find the person who is making garlands, his place is filled with flowers , he is inside the temple itself.

This is one of the powerful temple who has all the gods and goddess at one place.

Highly recommend a pilgrimage to this temple. There is good reason why it is so highly regarded by the devotees.
Location: Not on the main road, but there are boards on the main road, hence please watch out for the road that leads to the temple.
Parking: You can drive right up to the temple and the temple authorities have provided ample free parking at the side of the temple compound. The parking area overlooks the backwaters and is a beautiful spot.
Other facilities: There are ladies and gents toilets in case you need to freshen up. Very helpful since lot of pilgrims come here traveling from far away. There is also a separate building nearby that provides annadanam to devotees.
There is also a small Gowshala (not accessible usually).

A calm and peaceful temple . The main idol is Naga, due to covid we cannot go inside the inner temple , we can pray and do the darshan from outside. There is provision for online booking of pooja. The road to the temple is little narrow , the parking space is huge and the view outside the temple is mesmerizing . Good place for photoshoot . The temple has a cattle farm adjoining to it ,really impressed by the cleanliness there. There is a separate place where the calf's are grown , good morning vibes.

I had the privilege of visiting Ameda Temple, nestled on the serene banks of Vembanad Lake. The temple's main deity, Sapthamathrukkal, exudes a powerful aura of peace and spirituality. The tranquil surroundings, with the lake's gentle waters lapping nearby, create a profoundly peaceful atmosphere that truly soothes the soul. Ameda Temple is a must-visit for anyone seeking a spiritual and contemplative experience in a serene natural setting.

Very divine place. The temple is a bit away from the main road. I guess some private buses are doing service in this area.
But after 7:30-8:00pm no bus is available.
Facilities like ATM petrol pumps and restaurants are not available in this nearby area. You need to go around 4-5 kms to the main road for such facilities.

Talking about the temple, this temple is famous for its offering and devotion towards the Naga god.
The main pooja is sarpabali.
It starts at 6pm but the pooja starts at 7:00-7:30pm and finishes by 09:00pm
After the pooja they offer prasadam and annadaanam.
It will be good if you come for sarpabali by your own convenience .
The area is too scenic. A big lake is just behind the temple and the parking area is the best spot to see that scenic beauty and have a good time.

You need to get booking for the sarapabali from the temple. Just call them and ask them for the pooja date and time.
They will let you know the date and time and also the pooja price.

Sampta Matrukas are the main deities along with Sri Parameswara and Ganapathi. But the temple is well known for Nagas (Serpent God). It is Located on the banks of Vembanad Lake, in Tripunithura.

Story behind the temple is, Sage Parasurama was once traveling along the western coast of India, and he reached the place where the temple is presently situated. He stepped into the lake for 'Sandhyavandana' during sunset. At that time he saw a bright light at a distance. Curious to know about the source of light, Parasurama waded into the lake and moved forward to the centre. Suddenly, he learnt that the origin of the light is 'Sapthamathrukkal' who were traveling across the lake on the top of the tortoise. However, since the water was disturbed by Parasurama's entry, the tortoise became immobile. The place where the tortoise stopped came to be known as 'Amaninnayidam' and later on became 'Ameda'. Since Sage Parasurama interrupted the journey of the 'Sapthamathrukkal', Sage Parasurama decided to construct a magnificent temple at the same place where the tortoise stopped.
