Carnival Cinemas Liberty

One of the best iconic and heritage places in Mumbai. Currently it’s closed but if you get a chance to visit during on going event never miss the chance. This place has huge screen, seating capacity is also huge. The architecture and furniture is so beautiful. This theatre was built in 1947 so imagine what it is. If you want keep looking KASHISH MIQFF it happened every year June start so you can visit this theater. I’m attaching few pictures and videos.

A beautiful iconic Theater. Only few single screen good theater are remaining in Mumbai. Once you enter in the theater you fill like you entering in 80's.

Rates were reasonable and and the ambience is very good as it is an old theatre, even the structure and interior is retro. You will love the vibes. One should visit here once

Art Deco building at its best! Recently restored with great attention to details. The entire movie watching experience is excellent and complete!
We went there to watch a film during MAMI Film Festival and the theatre left me totally satisfied.

So much better than Regal cinema. Better toilets, better seats, looks bigger, cleaner and more grand. Definitely go for it !! (Good place for movie premieres too as there is space in front of the screen for Q&A sessions with the lead actors!) :)

It's a different experience for me as the theater screen is small. The theater is constructed in es early 1950's . The interiors are so good. You will get an experience of seeing cinema in 1950's .The souy system is fantastic.

Such a beautiful theatre with real retro vibes. Shows the real glamour about the theatre. Big hall with many seats. The screen and the music system and the temperature was pretty good. Seats are a bit old fashioned and slightly uncomfortable compared to modern theatres. The outside ambience is so red and looks retro posh. TBH I liked it for it's unique aesthetic compared to modern cold theatre ambiences.

Very good decor. Leg space is very less. Sound system are very old. Need a replacement.

The cinema looks very nice from inside and outside but there are many defaults like the brightness of screen is very low the screen is too small and the quality of seats is very bad

A must visit place for Movie lovers.
It represents the Indian Cinema Heritage and it's icons.
Plus the interior is just mesmerizing.
Definately a place to visit.
Highly recommended.

Watching Interstellar Premier on 35MM Flims with Mr. Christopher Nolan Itself was a mesmerizing moment.

Among the best cinemas of Mumbai which yet shines in the glory of the past. While most other cinemas have converted to multiplexes,. Liberty has retained its original look.

Brilliant and beautiful old fashioned single screen theatre

One of the best cinemas of olden golden days. Definitely worth a visit. It has maintained it's old world charm.

Liberty Carnival Cinemas is an Art Deco 1200 Seater Single Screen Movie Theatre built in 1947.

It's a different style theater one must visit if in Mumbai.

Excellent experience viewing movie. Actual BOMBAY experience.... Dont expect more from comfort but the ambience of the theater is just awesome....!!!!

The Cinema is located at a walking distance from marine lines station and is really well maintained.The interiors of the cinema are designed such that they reminds us of the old days of the Indian Cinema Houses.

They have various types of seat categories such as stalls and balconies. The seats however can be worked upon and made a little modern to make it a bit more comforting for the viewer. The sound quality is awesome and you get that premium feel of sound.

The food items these guys serve are really nice. They have a really nice taste and the quality is nicely maintained. The samosas these guys make are absolutely delicious and the taste of it is really unique which you wont get in either the restaurants or even in the street food. Plus there is an added advantage that the theater is almost always empty with only a few seats reserved so you can enjoy the movie nicely without any disturbance and the staff is really nice and friendly.

Thus, all in all a really nice and well maintained theater to watch the movie peacefully.
