Wow, I can't say enough good things about Tanjore Tiffin Room! This place is an absolute gem in Mumbai. From the moment you step inside, you're transported to the vibrant streets of South India. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with traditional decor and soothing music that sets the perfect mood for a delightful meal.

Now, let's talk about the food. Oh my goodness, it's a culinary paradise! Taanjore Tiffin Room offers an extensive menu of authentic South Indian delicacies that will leave your taste buds dancing with joy.

One of my personal favorites is their Kothu Parotta. It's simply out of this world! We tried a drink named Garden Galatta which was amazeeeee.

The service at Tanjore Tiffin Room is top-notch. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always ready to assist you. They take the time to explain the menu especially a part where they make you try every curry and explain it to you about the spices deeply, make recommendations, and ensure that you have a memorable dining experience. The wait times are a bit more, considering the popularity of the place, and the staff manages to maintain a high level of efficiency even during peak hours.

The prices at Tanjore Tiffin Room are very reasonable, especially considering the quality and quantity of the food. You get generous portions that are sure to satisfy your hunger and leave you feeling satisfied. It's a great value for money.

Overall, I highly recommend Thanjore Tiffin Room to anyone who wants to experience the true flavors of South India. Do try their Mushroom Pepper Fry and Vegetables in Coconut stew with Parotta.

Tanjore is one place I visit every time I am in Bombay. One of the best to try south India food. The tasting platter is too good.

The ambiance is delightful, and the food is truly delicious—no complaints there. Our group enjoyed jackfruit cutlet, kothu Paratha, surmai fry, mini gunpowder idlis, railway curry, appam, and chicken stew, all impeccably flavorful. The portion does seem lesser for the price. Additionally, the mojito didn't quite impress me, though the LIT was enjoyable. Overall, I recommend this place and look forward to returning to explore more items on their menu.

We visited this place for dinner. We made a reservation for 9:30pm but reached early. They already had people waiting but didnt make us wait for our reservation. The staff is great and accommodated our change from one table to the other as we wanted to shift indoor searing from the outdoor. The staff suggested us drinks and explained the curry platter in an amazing way.
Dishes we ordered
1) Kothu paratha and which came with an amazing coconut sauce
2) Karaikudi fried prawns
3) Mutton pepper fry
4) Chicken stew and appam for mains
All the dishes were tasty, had good portion and was served within 10mins of our order despite the restaurant running at full capacity.
Definitely visiting the place again

Loved this place. Yummy food, quick service. The sampler platter is such a good way to try out their menu for people who aren't familiar with south indian curries.

This is my all time favourite ❤ restaurant!!! I have been to this place for more than 10 times and trust me, they will never disappoint you!
The highlight is the main course tasting platter where you get 12 curries to taste and 4 types of rice to choose from.
After you have selected your gravy then you can choose to add Kathal, Paneer, Mushroom, Veggies, Chicken or Mutton. The best thing about this place is their crispy Malabar Parotha and Lemon Rice. If you visiting here, do try these 2 things….definitely recommend 😍😍😍

Enough good things can’t be said about this place. I ended up here multiple times during my trip because the food was so good. Whole staff was great every time I was there, especially the bartender Michael. Kothu parotta might be an at home comfort dish for people there, but it’s still great to see on a menu because it tastes amazing. Definitely get the sample platter to try all of the gravies before choosing a selection. Korma was excellent, super rich and flavorful, but my favorite was the Madras Railway Curry, so tasty. Might need a reservation some nights as they do get pretty busy, totally worth it though. I’ll be back here for sure.

Excellent Authentic South Indian taste !
Loved each and every item. Would highly recommend pepper chicken , crispy prawns & coffee beer.
They do give different curries for tasting for the main course. I found it to be very helpful. Service was very quick.
Vegetarian options like jackfruit cutlet and paneer curry were also very good.
It costed us around 1000 bucks / person including one beer / person which is quite reasonable for the quality that we got.
Overall, highly recommend!

So, story time: we went here for my birthday, group of 8. We had a reservation for 8 pm, but thanks to Mumbai traffic, we reached at 9:45 pm. We called about 5 times to extend our reservation, and each time the staff was extremely accommodating. Once we got there, we were immediately seated and some snacks brought to our table (very considerate since we were on the road for a while).

The lady (I think the owner or the manager) took us through the menu and took our order personally. We had two kids in our group, and she was particularly helpful in finding something to eat for them.

Food: we loved pretty much everything we ate. I thought the Arby 65 was very unique, the Kothu parotta was super tasty as well. The sample platter to explore what curry you want is a really good experience too. I would have liked to see some more vegan protein options from them! I think a soya chaap would be great in their Chettinad, and tofu would be amazing in their Railway curry.

I think the place is priced very fairly considering the food and service you get.

Another highlight for me was that almost every server that brought food to our table also wished me happy birthday. Who does that? Great job, folks. Hoping you open up in Navi Mumbai soon.

Very rarely you have a meal which is actually a sensory experience just because of the flavors and quality of the food served.
The staff was very courteous and helped us in deciding what to order, made sure our 6 month old was also comfortable. The railway curry is unique and a must try, but anyway do the full platter to choose the main course curry.
Loved it totally, coming back whenever in Mumbai

The best part was their assorted curries which we could taste before ordering.
They also have variety of breads available.
Very quick service.
I tried their Virgin hot toddy, it was really good.

The Madras Railway Curry is to die for 💯

Get the Main Course Platter to test out different curries before you place your order.

I had my inhibitions before visiting, but this place really does serve authentic Chettinad food.

It's better than some places down South.

Super place! Good food and pretty authentic at that (am a Malayali - I should know!). Seating options - both inside and outside. The decor is warm and rustic; the servers polite and knowledgeable. The USP is that they have a sampling platter of 16 of the items on the menu which they get to you before you decide on the order. A little pricey but the overall experience is wonderful! Table reservation is not mandatory but recommended given the popularity of the place.

Location: easily accessible from Metro / by road. They have parking available easily and also have valet.

Food: plenty of south Indian options! Loved the variety. Must try the: mini idlis, the vegetable stew, railway curry with prawns and rice. Even the chicken 65 was really good!
They offer you a tasting platter before you can order the main course and our server was kind enough to give us lovely suggestions as with the many options available it can get a bit confusing.
Their appams were really nice and soft!

Service: prompt service, all the staff members were super helpful and friendly. And the food was served within 5 mins of ordering ( this could probably be because we went on a Monday afternoon and the restaurant was pretty empty). Really impressed!

Definitely recommend for a family meal / all you can eat.

What a beautiful homely feeling this place gives you! Almost like a warm hug! Everything was great at this place, from the service to the starters to the tasting plate & finally the main course! They have a concept of providing a taster palette with different gravies, rice options for you to taste & select from for your main course! This was such a beautiful experience!

They have an outdoor & an indoor seating arrangement. Would suggest to sit outdoors for a great vibe. We couldn’t get our hands on the desserts but definitely going back for some yummy food!

Madras Station curry was the winner for me!
