Mumbai zoo has finally come of age. Pair of tigers, deers, sambals, hippos are all phenomenal to watch. Penguin enclosure is nicely done up. But cudnt enjoy watching them since they don't allow to stand and observe peacefully. It's felt like we were in Mumbai local trains wherein the push and shove actions were plentiful. U enter yourself but u exit on the crowds push & flow. Hardly cud click pictures It was that quick and smooth. The bird enclosure is also lovely with lots of species and colorful varieties. Lions and elephants and crocs are missed. Don't know when they will bring them. Also eat food only at the food mall attached to the penguin enclosure where there are decent brands with good variety of foods. Don't eat at the counter which comes before the food mall where the options are very limited. Also I had booked tickets online and had added photography charges but that went to waste. So don't book it before actually visiting and inquiring abt it. All in all a decent place to visit. Also do carry caps to protect from sun and they don't allow to carry along water bottles for reasons I don't know.

Amazing experience for kids to see wildlife in the heart of the city.
Tiger enclosure, The 2 Bird aviaries and Penguins are the special attractions here among all other animals , birds and reptile enclosures.
Crocodile, lion and hyenas enclosures were ready and are supposed to be up and running this year itself. A good day off for Adults, and a must visit for kids and wildlife enthusiasts.

Great place to spend time with your family and friends...
But Animals and birds are very less compared to earlier.
Plastic bottles are not allowed inside of premises so make sure if you are carrying water or food it should be in steel containers.
Have fun guys 😉

Fabulous. Wasn't crowded on Sunday morning at 9.30am. Upi payments are convenient. There are many interesting animals. Penguins are the beeessssttt. Bird sanctuary is also very nice. Other than many other interesting animals. They have a very nice food court as well now other than the cafe that has good options ! I hosted my kids' bdah party. No water at cafe' or food court. Carry your water bottle and refill when you see coolers. Well maintained. So proud!.

The highlight of th Byculla zoo is the family of Penguins. It's also a botanical garden. Worth spending half a day. Few animal enclosures lion and wolf were under maintenance.

You can book tickets online also. Also has a great food court and it was surprisingly not costly, affordable and value for money, and has options.

Bird enclosure is also an highlight.

Great place for family friends and outing.

Good place to visit. The zoo has been totally revamped. Most of the animal enclosures give you better visibility. For aquatic animals you get to see them even underwater. The views are totally fascinating. You get to see tiger, leapord, hyenas, aquatic birds, hippopotamus, deer, tortoise, elephant. Currently reptiles are not there. There enclosure is under renovation. You have got canteen inside for refreshments.

One of my favourite childhood places to visit. And even as an adult, this place never disappoints.
And with the recent additions and renovations it becomes a wonder. 🤩

Byculla Zoo in Mumbai is a charming sanctuary that promises an engaging and educational experience for both children and adults. With its diverse collection of animals and birds, the main attraction being the penguins, the zoo offers a captivating journey into the animal kingdom. Alongside its wildlife exhibits, the zoo also provides food facilities, beautiful gardens for children, and ample opportunities to spend a full day immersed in nature.

The variety of animals and birds at Byculla Zoo is truly impressive. From majestic lions and graceful giraffes to playful monkeys and colorful parrots, the zoo showcases a wide range of species from around the world. The star attraction, undoubtedly, is the penguin enclosure, where visitors can observe these adorable creatures waddling, swimming, and playing in their icy habitat. The penguins' lively antics never fail to bring smiles to the faces of visitors of all ages.

The availability of food facilities is a convenient addition to the zoo. Exploring the vast expanse of the zoo can be tiring, and the presence of snack counters and eateries allows visitors to refuel and recharge. Whether you're craving a quick bite or a full meal, the food options cater to different tastes and preferences, ensuring a satisfying culinary experience.

Byculla Zoo also caters to the needs of younger visitors with its charming gardens. These gardens provide a safe and inviting space for children to play, run around, and engage with nature. The well-maintained greenery, combined with the presence of colorful flowers and sculptures, creates a serene and enjoyable environment for kids to unwind and have fun.

A must visit destination to add in your tour planner if you are going to visit Mumbai.

I had visited this zoo, on Sunday please avoid visiting on Saturday or Sunday there is a huge crowd on weekends.
The point of attraction is tiger and penguin 🐧.
It's good for humans to watch animals from this close but imagine the state to the animals they are trapped and isolated.
Almost all animals are in very bad condition,as if they are counting their remaining days.
You can only feel pity and then click few pictures and leave the place saying it's very hot.
The zoo gets closed by 6pm.
Also there is a museum besides the zoo.

It is inside the Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Garden and zoo, Byculla, Mumbai. Tiger and Penguins are the main attractions here along with the other animals and birds. Some rare trees like Baobaab, cannon ball tree etc are also there in the garde.
