Boating in the lake is very pleasant.

A calm park cum lake in the city. Nice and peaceful place. Can be put on cycling destination too. Nice routes via Anna University and green Nungambakkam.

Price of Boating is reasonable. Pleasant place in middle of the city. Eateries also available here.

It was a pleasant experience in chetpet lake. We felt like we were in some European countries. The lake has picturesque view due to blooming flowers such as bougainvillea, etc. Greenery, water, fun and aquarium.. all in one place.. the place is clean and calming. Must visit if you want to escape from the concrete jungle.

Good place for a walk, boating, and a small play area for kids. Aquarium has not been well maintained, this was our 2nd visit and it was shocking to see how many of the fishes were gone

Lovely Ambience. Good place to play for children. Boating is also nice n affordable. An affordable picnic spot. No Food allowed inside.

A very good place in city for boating, walking and fish angling. Walkable distance from Chetput railway station. There is a entry fee and you can walk around the lake. Separate fee for boating. Life jackets are must for all even for kids. The boating jetty is little steap now. Older people may find little hard to reach boat. There is a small cafe, they have cotton candy, potato spring fry, pop corn, tea, coffee and cold beverages. A nice place to visit in summer. For just daily walking, memberships are available. Ample car and bike parking available but bit costlier.
Walking track is opened from 4:30 AM to 8:30 AM and from 5 PM to 7 PM. Registration cost is Rs. 200 per month and Rs. 2000 per year.

Park is open between 9 AM to 6 PM with entry fee of Rs. 25 for Adult and Rs. 10 for Children.

30 Minute boat ride costs Rs. 50 for Adult and Rs. 25 for Children. Park stays closed on Tuesdays.

Angling is priced at Rs. 300 and if we need to take the fish we catch it will cost another Rs. 300.
In recent years, the lake has been heavily encroached upon, particularly near the Chetpet railway station. There have been many plans to rejuvenate Chetpet lake since the mid-1990s, including developing a boat club, an aquarium, seafood stall and fish court besides a walkway around the waterbody. The last attempt to save the lake was in 2005, when the state environment department identified it along with 12 other lakes of Greater Chennai area for an eco-restoration project. The CPR Environmental Education Centre conducted a detailed survey, and based on that, the state government appointed the Tamil Nadu Urban Infrastructure Finance Services Limited to prepare a project report.

Good step by government for cleaning the lake. Boat ride was awesome with my brother. Government need to take more initiatives like this to maintain water bodies like this.

Very calm nd beautiful lake in busy city, if you want to visit this lake if you are coming by public transport by local train just come upto chetpet just exit from west side you can see this eco park entrance if you are coming by bus come upto ega theatre just opposite side to ega theatre you can see this eco park entrance

It is a nice place to visit to refresh yourself.

Beautiful running track, nice and clean park, food outlets, nice kids play area and ample 4W parking
