St. Teresa's Church

One of the best churches I've been to, the tabernacle is well designed, like sparks of fire... And angels around it, very aesthetically pleasing church. Sunday mass here is wonderful, especially the 6:30 pm mass, the Sunday evening choir is soulful, they make you feel happy to be alive and present in this church. A very beautiful place, holds a lot of beautiful memories... One of my favourite churches in the city of Madras.

For marrying a Catholic person, I finally got the chance to know about the Lord, mass, communion, prayer and most importantly three disciples of Jesus from my new family.

Well, about the place - it's very nicely maintained. The stained glass art is marvellous! There is a huge bell which is rare to see in other churches (at least from my knowledge, I haven't seen). The area of the church is quite big. It can be easily seen from the main road.

The mass starts at 9:30 a.m. The language used is mostly the pure form of Tamil ( not the colloquial/Chennai Tamil). If you don't understand, no worries, the ambience will guide you through.

Serene, beautiful and divine... I stumbled upon this amazing church while I was taking a walk after a long day at office .. It rejuvenated me with positivity and hope helped me breath.. the glass work is astounding and a spectacle at night .. the festival decorations are a must watch if you are in town

Serene and beautiful. Accommodating to the faithful irrespective of your race, typical of Catholic Church. I enjoyed the local language Mass even though I didn't understand the words, but I understood the Eucharist.

One of the best churches I've been to for Sunday Mass in Chennai. Sunday English mass @ 6.30 pm is wonderful and holy, the choir is soulful, they keep you engaged to the services. Hat's off to the choir for their dedication & commitment.

If you are in Chennai for a short stay and looking to attend English mass , this is one of my favourite churches in the city of Chennai.

Today, 08-Dec-2019 (Sunday), I attended the 9:00am English Mass at *St. Teresa's Church*, Nungambakkam, Chennai, Tamilnadu. A very Peaceful & Beautiful Church!

Just love the Choir for the Sunday English mass at 6:30 PM. They make the mass very divine.

Beautiful church with a great ambience and prayerful atmosphere. The church has plenty of services everyday (morning, afternoon and evening mass) in Tamil and English during weekdays. It is conveniently located at a hardly 10 mins walking distance from the US consulate and 5 mins from The Park hotel. The best part about this church is that they have an adoration chapel that's air conditioned open from 5AM until midnight. The adoration chapel has a silent and peaceful atmosphere where you can spend hours just sitting and talking in silence with your creator, meditate or do your regular prayers. My review will be incomplete if I do not appreciate the church authorities for keeping the chapel open free of cost for the public to experience God for such long hours. I spent sometime time in the chapel prior to going for my US Visa interview, just sat there and thanked God for all that I have and requested him to calm me and bless me with a smooth interview. And it ended up with a success. There's plenty of parking space and open area with a virgin Mary grotto at both the entrances, a bus stop exists right in front of the church.
I think this church is a main source of blessing for the city of Chennai.

a really big and quiet church, you can see really good articls,monument,paintings in the church usually filled with people. lovely place to go with your family and friends. serine and sublimable place.

Must attend 12 pm mass on Sunday. Amazing choir.

Very peaceful and emotional, devotional place

Good peaceful place! Currently repairs and painting going on and hence a separate prayer room is arranged for visitors. Enough area available for parking of vehicles. There is a school also in the compound. Church is designed in the shape of a cross and is very beautiful to see. Always open for praying and also maintained well.
