St. John the Baptist Church was founded in 1840 and dedicated in 1842. It offered a peaceful atmosphere to pray. When I walked in, a women’s Bible study session/prayer meeting was underway. Although I couldn’t understand a word uttered by the minister and the small group, their enjoyment and faith were palpable. The altar, pews, and lectern were beautiful. The external structure is minimalistic and elegant. The plaque to Rev. Manuel Yesadian reveals the church’s Armenian ties.

This church is 179 years old...when you sit inside you can feel the vibe of old time calm, beautiful surroundings of plants and trees; vast open spaces ...old style church architecture but just outside the compound wall it's a busy road but inside the atmosphere is very different...must go to get a peace of mind, trees swaying silently ,birds chirping sound, sermon going on every thing will make you feel happy from inside
