Fort evenings just got a whole lot classier (and tastier) thanks to Kandeel's Lantern Bar! Recently swung by this hidden gem and let me tell you, it was a night to remember.

I started with the Kiwi Cooler, a refreshing mocktail that was bursting with kiwi flavor. Perfect way to beat the Mumbai heat! Then, I moved on to the Queen Victoria G&T. This one's for the gin lovers! The bartender didn't disappoint - the G&T was perfectly balanced and flavorful.

A Culinary Adventure:
Kandeel's menu offers a delightful mix of Indian and Continental fare. I opted for the Chicken Sholay Kebab and the Bombil Fry for appetizers. The kebab was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the Bombil Fry had the perfect balance of crispy and flaky.

For mains, I went a bit desi with the Chicken Triple Schezwan Fried Rice. This dish was a flavor bomb! The rice was perfectly cooked, and the Schezwan sauce had just the right amount of spice.

Sweet Endings:
No meal is complete without dessert, and Kandeel's offerings didn't disappoint. I tried both the Caramel Custard and the Paan Icecream.The custard was smooth and creamy, with a delightful caramelized top. The Paan Icecream was a revelation! It captured the essence of the classic paan in a refreshingly cool way.

If you're near MG Road in Mumbai you must visit this iconic restaurant Kandeel the Lantern Bar.
Started in the 1970s this restaurant is situated in the posh area near Colaba.

This is a Rooftop bar with 3 levels of dining space. The ambience was pretty relaxing and inviting. The rooftop setting is perfect for enjoying the city views, and the lanterns provide a warm and romantic glow.

The food we loved was the Cantonese pepper chicken and the lasooni kabab both of which were simple, well made and appetizing.

For the mains, the chicken maharaja was a royal affair with a good amount of chunky pieces of chicken and flavoursome gravy and the chicken dum biryani which was cooked to perfection and so delectable.

We also tried their mocktails, red vanilla and fruit punch which were the perfect complement to the food served.

For dessert, we ended up with a sizzling brownie with ice cream which was just the excellent end to our meal.

Overall, The Lantern Bar is a great place to enjoy a relaxing evening with friends or family. The delicious cocktails, stunning views, and friendly service make it a top spot in Mumbai.

They have a decent ambience indoor seating & a very cosy & romantic rooftop!!

Kandeel is such a warm and vibrant place. The lanterns make it a more lively place. We ordered the Bombil fry , Prawn biryani, Kulfi. With the beers you get complementary peanuts and cheese lings such a nice gesture. The staff her is very friendly and kind. The service is top. We were served by MANOHAR. He's very proactive and his service is excellent. He will time all the orders making sure ur not waiting for a long time for ur orders. Really nice guy. Thank you. The Bombils were made just how we have it af home :)

The best place to visit for sure🥰. I had visited lantern before also but this time I wanted to sit at the roof side... But unfortunately the booking were full... But some how the manager arranged a table for us at the rooftop.. I tried their
1..Paneer crispy... It was daam yummy
2..Nachos.... Amazing
3..Paneer Tikka.... The paneer was very soft... Loved the taste...
4..veg crispy.... Perfect
5..Schewan noodles... Was good
6..cheese ball.... The filling inside was too good

We recently visited here for their roof top dining experience. The entrance with beautiful lantern (the kandeel) hanging on top. The place is divided into 2 zones, 1st the bar cum family diner & 2nd the roof top seating where you can enjoy open space dining experience.

The staff is polite, courteous & are good at handling customer queries. The service is quick & prompt. The drinks menu is well sorted with adequate range. The starters ordered was yummy. The main course called for was veg hakka noodles which were much oily than expected. Rest other food was decent in serving quantity & able to suffice 2 people.

The cottage cheese was delicious in taste. The food was served hot. The ambience is good & the vibes are really good; top notch. The crowd is mostly businessmen or young couples / friends and family. The seating is really cosy & comfy too.
Overall it was amazing experience at the lantern bar.

The Lantern Bar at Kandeel Restaurant in Kala Ghoda is such an amazing place with Good Food, Live Music and Beautiful Ambience. This place has 3 floors ground floor has a normal bar, second floor dining seating with live music and third floor is open roof top seating.

Pink Lemonade Cocktail was a gin based cocktail made with bombay sapphire gin with rose syrup and topped with sparkling lemonade and tasted very nice
White Madras Cocktail was vodka based cocktail with orange juice and cranberry juice it was a great combination tasted really good
Chicken Sholay Kebab was something different it was white chicken tikkas coated in fluffy egg tasted good
Cantonese Pepper Chicken is must try here its an asian dish and its really nice served hot piping and was medium spicy in taste
Paneer Lababdar was thick and creamy gravy with soft paneer peices tasted so yummy and it went well with Kulcha
Chicken Oriental Pot Rice was served sizzling hot it was mildly spicy and had lots of exotic veggies and chicken its a must try here.
Nutella Brownie was so hot and yummy topped with hot chocolate sauce brownie lovers must try this.

Food was so good. Service was quick. Food was served piping hot.
The best thing was the live music it made our evening so memorable we really enjoyed at this place best food with live music was a great experience at this place.

Right after work I went to this cosy lantern bar at kandeel which is nicely tucked away in fort. This is a 3 storey place with traditional indian decor on each floor. Since it was a nice and breezy evening and the cricket match was on we decided to sit on the rooftop it was such an amazing spot with positive ambience. The food was especially amazing their indian food is great. They are nicely stocked up with cocktails/Mocktails. We ordered the calcutta drink and the hurricane. Both were amazing. For starters we ordered the cheesy nachos and the Cantonese pepper paneer. This is a must try the paneer cubes and the gravy are really nice at medium spice level. For the main course we ordered the dal fry and paneer lababdaar both were extremely authentic. The spice level was medium hence perfect for me since I cannot eat spicy food. With this we had the garlic cheese naan and the kulcha which came piping hot. The flavours were authentic and had less oil which was great.Finally to end the evening on a sweet note we ordered the sizzling brownie again this was amazing the brownie was perfectly sweet and tasted mind blowing. The ambience was positive with lovely music and the service was prompt and waiters were very polite.

Stepping into this cozy spot, I was immediately captivated by its inviting atmosphere and genuine vibes.

Absolutely amazing ambience. Food was worth the money. Great way to spend an evening with group of friends.

The bar is divided into two types
Rooftop and the normal restaurant inside its a cozy place to go they don't have music but they do offer alcohol , it's a little expensive but not that over the board. The food is good and the service is good too , The hygienic washroom and amazing vibe dim light inside the restaurant you must try their rooftop sitting for dates there are multiple cuisines offered according to your taste they have good ambience and interiors must Visit with your friends and family

Today I visited this place called the lantern which is situated in fort, we went to th second floor at the rooftop, it was nice ambience with soft music , nice atmosphere and good food. We started with starters veg starter like paneer cheesy kababs, which which good , then fish tikka were amazing , chicken Dum Biryani was so flavourful and delicious, over we had a wonderful time with good food 😊

The place is a 3 storey Builidng where ground floor is fine dining, 1st floor is a lounge & rooftop has live screening.
The place is ideal for friends to chill & family dining.
The food here is simply delicious and staff is very friendly.

Last weekend we friends visited The Lantern Bar at Kandeel which is located at Fort. Ambience is very good. Great place to hang with friends n family. It has great seating arrangement.
Service is fast, staff is friendly. Food is awesome in taste. We ordered multiple dishes which were-
For starters
Chicken malai tikka and Drumbs oh heaven both of them were delicious in taste. Tikka was very creamy. Drumbs of heaven were fabulous in taste.

For main course
Chicken maharaja it was a delicious dish we ate that with naan N roti.

For dessert
Chocolate ice cream it was very creamie ice cream I loved it.
Sizzling brownie was fantastic is taste was very chocolaty.

It was a great experience.

The Lantern Bar - Kandeel

The lantern bar known as Kandeel situated in the famous n prime place of Mumbai which Fort Area. Kandeel is famous for its ambience, at the second floor of restaurant which is open is full of lantern above the seating arrangement. Place is perfect n cool for Couples, family/friends group.

Since it’s weekend me and my friend decide to have our dinner at ths famous restaurant.
We had really delicious food & drinks over here like in cocktails we had Blue Lagoon & Margaritas… both drinks are perfectly prepared with its attractiveness will preferably go for Blue Lagoon for our second visit.

We also had starters which was Chicken kung Pao & Cheesy chicken Chaska both was delicious will recommend go for Chicken kung pao..

In mains we had Chicken Burnt garlic rice & Chicken in Barbecue sauce both combinations were great and taste was up to point!!

We ended our delicious dinner with Sizzling brownie was really tempting.

Service was good & staff Was well trained, will definitely try some more dishes here..❤

“Latern bar at Kandeel “
It’s a amazing place to visit with your friends and family. It has huge seating area includes rooftop seating as well. It’s in fort where all mumbaikar wanna go as it’s the area call to be south bombay. The staff is good and service was also okayish.

Mojito: it was good drink but being a cocktail it taste like mocktail due to more amt of sprite in it.

LIT: it’s all time fav cocktail to try out but this place kinda disappoint me as they pour 2-3 spirits rather than 5.
It taste well.

Wok Fried Chicken wings: it was on point dish. It was spicy well tossed and the quantity was huge with great pieces.

Chicken Tandoori Full: 8 big pieces were served along with chutney and onions.
On point and well presented.

Chicken Rara with Butter Garlic Naan: it was yummy and the quantity was good just the presentation was okayish.

Sizzling Brownie: Most Common dessert in town but the best one as well. The brownie was great and the taste was fabulous. Just loved it.
