Totakacharya (follower of Aditya Sankara)'s cave. You can see Aditya Sankara sitting here. He seems to have spent his last days here before Samadhi. Peaceful unassuming and clean temple.

Such a peaceful place in Joshimath. It is believed that the ancient name of Joshimath was Jyotirmath where Adi Guru Shankaracharya attained the light of knowledge in the cave under Kalpaviraksha.Coming here one gets peace of mind and from here one gets to see a very beautiful view of Joshimath.

A excellent mystical place which resonates with the soul of everyone who visits there. It is a great privilege to get to see the cave where the great philosopher saint His holiness Sri Jagadguru Totakacharya once meditated 1300 years ago. There is also a Lakshmi Narayana temple and Rajarajeshwari temple. The priests are very welcoming and devout.

We visited this holi math establizhed by Great Guru Adi Sankara. In addition to the Jyotirmath, thewre is also a Sankaracharya temple, a big statue of Lord Shiva, and the cave where Acharya's disciple Todakacharya medidated. There is also a tree in this locality which is considered to be centuries old and is known as Kalpvrksh. On the way to Sankaracharya temple, there is a Hanuman temple and a statue of Bhishm Pitamah lying on arrows. This place is very close to the Joshmath town but need to walk upward to reach.
