The scenic flight from Delhi to Leh is amazing, you have snow capped mountains and glaciers which you seem to touch, it is one of the highest airports in the world at an elevation of 3,256 m (10,682 ft) above mean sea level. The airport is small and it seems a little under military control but we had no problems. It is the gateway to to Ladakh region and the Himalayan Mountain Range, the landing and takeoff are incredible as you seem to toubh the mountains. It has only one terminal that operates only domestic flights, but it seems a new terminal and facilities are under construction,

Leh Airport is a gateway to the mesmerizing beauty of Ladakh. The experience here was exceptional. The airport is small but efficient, and the staff is courteous. The views of the Himalayas during the landing are breathtaking. This is basically a defence airport and new airport is under construction. The facilities might be basic, but given the remote location, it's understandable.
Very less flights ✈ available and do Plan early for better airline fare or else you will endup payment exorbitant prices .
Air india is operating in a day time only ..

Overall, a seamless entry point to an unforgettable adventure in Ladakh!

This is a defence airport, opened for domestic public use since last few years, beautiful and one of the deadliest airports in India. Landing of flights are fully depended on weather conditions *(if AIRINDIA doesn't fly it's flight no other airlines will fly at that particular day/time).
Flight delay/rescheduling/cancellation is very common about this airport so plan your trip accordingly (keep 2-3 days in buffer)
Amazing experience though ❤❤

India has some of the best places, where we can witness the magic of autumn. Autumn is the second spring, when every leaf is a flower. Mughal Gardens in Kashmir. The stark landscape of Leh transforms with hues of gold and yellow and orange in autumn. Swathed in hues of crimson and ochre, Spiti Valley in Himachal Pradesh is a must see for its' sheer beauty in autumn. Part of the Nilgiris biosphere, Ooty is a burst of colour in the autumns when the quaint hill town sees a burst of flowering plants. As the clouds part to reveal tones of russet red and gold, Sikkim is a delight in the autumn. Dubbed as the Scotland of the east, autumn in Sikkim is a vibe. The best place to soak in the season and its myriad hues is at the Umiam Lake. Nestled amid the Dhauladhar range, Dharamshala is enveloped in shades of crimson in autumn that adds a surreal feel to the magical vistas. During autumn, Munnar has a slight nip in the air and probably the best views of its' picturesque rolling hills dotted with tea plantations. With its' moniker 'Queen of Meadows', Ranikhet in Uttarakhand of Almora District is a lush landscape of fruit orchards and natural vistas. Kodagu or Coorg is known for its endless coffee plantations and misty landscapes that come alive in autumn when its biodiversity is at its colourful best. With waterfalls like the Abbey Falls, Iruppu Falls, Mallali Falls, and Deveragundi Falls, the surrounding areas are filled with stunning landscapes. Goa beach is also a must visit place...

The scenic flight from Delhi to Leh takes one and a half hours. Try to get a window seat so that you can contemplate the wonderful bird’s eye view of the Himalayan snow-clad mountains. Flights are only in the morning because it gets usually windier in the afternoon. Leh airport remains operational for all 12 months of the year though flights are sometimes delayed or cancelled in winter due to bad weather conditions. In summer, flights are very reliable.

The official name of Leh airport is Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport and its IATA code is IXL. It is one of the highest airports in the world at an altitude of 3,500 metres above sea level and you should spend the first day acclimatizing in Leh before heading to higher altitude. Leh airport is a military airport, therefore the security is tight and a printout of your e-ticket can be required when going through the security checks. Just outside the terminal, you can easily find a taxi to drop you at your hotel. Leh city centre is only 4 km away from the airport and a prepaid taxi costs approximately ₹ 600.

Its a small airport mainly developed for Army. Nowdays domestic flights used this airport from Delhi. Very high security check happens here. During Departure, Luggage Identification is must by passenger, else Luggage will not be taken into flight. The Himalayan Range Mountains and Leh view from flight is awesome.
At the arrival, medical support available for free because many tourists face high altitude health issue after arriving.

It is the 23rd highest commercial airport in the world at 3,256 m above mean sea level.
Due to its location in between the Mountain ranges of Himalayas the approach to Leh Airport has been named as one of the world's most scenic approaches which makes this airport a scenic airport to land into and take off from.

This is an airport shared by the military so all the travellers have to follow the rules like no photography for security reasons. The airport is small and very basic unlike other big airports in india. It has the small town kind off vibe which is nice for a change. Showing vaccine certificate is mandatory while exiting and entering the airport. The airport opens at 6.10 am in the morning so it's not a 24hrs open airport. The view while landing and taking off from the airport is something not to be missed.

Clearly this airport is unique and has its own charm being amongst the highest in terms of altitude. Though you may not find facilities and services compared to the other international airports, but the sheer natural beauty is mesmerizing. Located just at the entry of the City of Leh from Kashmir side. The place is tidy and neat but sometimes could be dusty in case of strong winds.
