Metta Cafe

Ended my trip with amazing Hot chocolate in Metta cafe! It’s a must visit if you are in Leh! The cafe has a different vibe altogether with cute posters and amazing menu. I missed the pancakes but I am sure I am going to keep that for next visit! Tanvi , owner of the cafe is an amazing friendly lady who will help you choose the best of food :)

This cafe is a little oasis that gave us the peace and comfort we needed. Here we had the best cappuccino in town, as well as very delicious smoothie bowls which will satisfied our cravings for fruit after having rice and dal every day while trekking. Unfortunately we only found this place towards the end of our trip, but as soon as we found it we fell in love and came back every day, sometimes even twice per day.

The cappuccino is perfect, strong and made from speciality beans. We also loved the vietnamese iced coffee.

We also very much enjoyed their food which is prepared fresh and with lots of love. All the items are created to perfection over the 5 years of business.
The smoothie bowls are incredible, with granola and dried fruit on top and make a great healthy breakfast.
The Khambir sandwich with grilled veggies is so so good, I’m still wondering whats their secret flavor.
We always had one of their chocolate cookies with our coffee, which they heated up for the chocolate to melt😋
The pancakes are amazing as well, especially with blueberries.
Last but not least we tried the Mug Cake which comes with cream and blueberries and is the perfect treat.
We would have tried everything on the menu if we had more time (Especially their pizza!)

The owners of the cafe are the kindest people, always smiling and listening to the wishes of their customers. Based on that they make great recommendations on what to order.

This café gave us peace and a vacation feeling, which we much needed after traveling Ladakh. We can’t thank you enough for creating this place.

PS: we love love love the choice of music in the morning

A really small and nice little place near the main market! Just check for the directions… the cafe is behind the facade of the main location and a door will lead you there… Must have - Mocha coffee or a Hot chocolate if you don’t want to have some coffee… The pizza (plain Margherita) was a great addition to the meal. The Coffee is worth the price.

IN THE LAST HOUR I HAD THE BEST MEAL IN LADAKH SO FAR.

This place, @mettacafeleh was recommended to me by someone from the stay (Sanjay Leela) who had earlier visted this place with his friends.

I tried their “Grilled Veg Khambirwich” and I just didn’t wanted it to finish. It was super delicious, a very different touch to it is what I felt even when I held it. The time it took to prepare was definitely worth the wait!

Tanvi started this place in 2018. She along with Madura and other staff handle the whole place really well, the ambience, music and service (in my view) were top notch.

You can also work from here, they’ve got power backup when nearly the whole Leh town didn’t have any power, the wifi speed it smooth for you to undertake concentrated work.

Highly recommend anyone wanting to grab a good breakfast/brunch/evening snack.

PS: Not a paid promotion, just outta my genuine liking for the place and food.

Everything (service, ambience, etc) was so good, but the best was the food for which I went there after reading some of the reviews. I ordered an iced americano, Veg Khambirch and chocolate chip cookie. All the things were so good that while finishing I couldn't decide what to eat last to have that lingering taste.

Sadly my last day here, but surely I'm coming back next time!!!

Tanvi the owner is a joyful person and she cooks everything delicious. She will serve you with a smile. The coffee is the best. Must visit cafe to enjoy your coffee or food with a mellow music and a conversation with the owner and with fellow people

A place not to miss when in Leh.

Metta has been my go to place in Leh for coffee and quick bites. They have set a standard when it comes to coffee and staff knows what they are doing.
P.S. - Their latte is so nicely blended, it is to die for.
P.P.S. - Never forget to pickup a cold brew from here on your trips around.

Loved this place! There are sign boards on the road, the easiest way is to spot the bicycle shops and turn left.
The place is warm and welcoming! The interiors and ambience was very beautiful. The hosts are very friendly. Amazing food and beverages..
Near to the market but is quiet. Perfect place for someone who wants to work, read, spend some good time or go on a date. Great coffee ☕

Well to start with its a quite cozy and beautiful cafe which is slightly hidden 😉 behind a commercial complex.

Goods:
1) The roast is quite good and drinks like Hot Mocha is well crafted.

2) Music and vibe is cool

Need improvements:
1) They call themselves a "speciality coffee" but cold coffee was too sweet like a gulab jamun 😁

Overall 4/5 but I hope to see it 5/5 in our next visit.

An absolute gem of a place. I stayed for over a month in Leh, and went here almost every other day. The best thing is that this is a legit Café - they have a variety of South Indian and South African coffee beans - rosted and brewed to perfection. All their coffees are a must try - whatever you get, you can't go wrong.
The owner, and the staff are super friendly - they make you feel welcome. The ambience feels warm and cozy - has a rustic feel to it. Their Mushroom and Spinach Khambir Sandwich is a must try. 10/10 must visit - again and again!

What a fab place! A bit hard to find, there's a bit of a hidden staircase going up. The cafe is really cute and bright but still cosy. All the drinks were really nice and the food was great as well.

Well worth the search for your hidden gem.

So we had the Seabuckthorn cooler and Viatnamese cold brew for drinks. And peas and potatoes (if I remember correctly), Hummus and Chicken Khambirwiches (sandwiches made in the local bread called Khambir) over 2 visits. We loved everything. I'd say the drinks were better than the food but even the food felt like a great change, after all the momos, Thukpas, north indian food and basic subpar meals at barely accessible places. The cafe is in a hidden corner of the market and has a very cute vibe and look. It is also the only place we visited twice during our 9 day trip and were sad to have found only on the last day. Chatting with Tanvi, one of the owners, was great as well. She gave us the best recommendations for our last day and was very friendly and open as well. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for something chill, great coffee or coolers, healthy food, good conversations, or a little comfort after days of travel. Wish I could be sipping on that Vietnamese Cold brew right now!

Best coffee in town. Loved the food, cafe has limited food menu and speciality coffee which is best in class. Must try Khambirwich, Hot chocolate and Waffles with Apricot cream 😍

Small cute contemporary place, a bit difficult to find in the aisles of Leh market. But awesome food, good hospitality. A very good find when compared to the big lavish cafe's in the market. Highly recommended.

Visited this place for hot chocolate and it didn't disappoint. The hot chocolate was thick and creamy and very very tasty. The barista was very passionate about coffee, the store and its sustainable measures. The cafe is a small one and has only 3-4 tables but is made in a very Instagram-able way. Definitely a go to if you like hot chocolate during winters.
