To be honest, this is the perfect place to visit when you want to switch to chill mode and have a wonderful day in the heart of Budapest. Clean, spacious areas, the whole beach’s layout is designed well, everything is great quality from the modern, artsy sunbeds to the buffet and changing area buildings. Offers great food, big selection, several places to choose from. If you prefer not to swim but have a snack or lunch, you can absolutely do that too with the gastro ticket. Recommend this place for anyone who wants to experience a Miami Beach atmosphere by river Danube. Wonderful! 😀🏖🏄🚣‍♂🍧☕🍹🌊☀😎

Definitely a good spot to relax and refresh on hot days. The staff is nice, the area is clean and modern, the restaurant food is great! I could have felt being at a lake only if I would not turn my head to the modern talk buildings nearby. Please always pay attention to small babies as water gets deep quickly.

I came here with my fiancé Saturday. This little beach was a great positive surprise, it is beautifully developed, with great facilities, staff was very sweet and food was much better than what I am used to in other similar places. Lots of little fishes on the shore :) I will definitely return, it’s a must.

Our party of five (myself, wife, 2 sons and a family friend) spent 5 hours on a hot August Sunday here and we were happy to find such an oasis only a 15 minute drive from our XII kerulet residence.

I read (with much amusement) the trolls' one star reviews of SHO beach; IMHO almost all the complaints were without substance, and taken without consideration of relative merit. Yes, the place is not free, or even cheap. Yes, the grounds are not huge. Yes, the water is not as clear as an Alpine lake. But c'mon people! It's in the middle of a very large metropolitan area, on a blind cove in a RIVER that runs through multiple other countries before it hits Hungary.

Here's what you DO get: You get water as clean as anyplace that I have been to anywhere at Balaton (and I've been going to Balaton for 20 years). You get pretty good multi-lingual service from pretty well trained staff (with smiles!). You get really good food (even healthy, like the tapas plate we had) for prices no more than any other comparable place in the city. You get a clean, well-cared-for green lawn without cigarette butts to spoil your experience. Please, note the "comparable" reference, as it applies to other aspects of this review as well.

Nobody came down to us and took away the 1 litre bottle of Szt Kiraly I brought in with me, and the guy in the entrance kiosk couldn't have been more polite and nice, even allowing my wife and I to exit and take a brisk walk down to the end of Kopaszi-gat for some exercise. The beach attendant was cheerful and kind, the wait staff equally so.

As an American expat married to a Hungarian, and living here 6 months a year, I can tell you that I haven't been to any so called "beach clubs" where there was a full time attendant in the immaculate WC/changing room area. There was one at SHO Beach, and as far as I am concerned this epitomizes the slang expression "you get what you pay for"!

If you want the Siofok/Balatonfured experience, knock yourself out---get in your car and drive a couple hours (and burn alot more gasoline). Me, I am perfectly happy that SHO beach spent a ton of money transforming that little corner of the Duna into an alternative summertime locale where my family can hang out for a lazy summer afternoon.

Peace out!

We normally went all the way to lupa but not we fell in love with sho beach. All you want and need for a amazing beach day is there. All is so spotless, toilets, the grass, the sand all spotless.and the food and drinks are served by a amazing team of superstars. We will be hanging here everyday when we are in Budapest. Lost my phone there and they found it so if I could give 10 stars I would... everyone go visit SHO beach.....

Very clean beach, nice stuff speaking English. And of course very tasty food in MAK terrace. We live close, so for us it will be number 1 place for swimming this summer.

Freshly opened beach, the only by now where you can swim in the Danube. Even though it's not a cheap one, it's worth it to pay this amount for the service and the beautiful view of the Danube. Plus one, the food service: The Mák's Popup is definitely one of the best street food places in the city. Don't miss it!
