Café Astoria Restaurant

We stopped in for dessert and drinks, but wished we’d gone for dinner as well! The food was outstanding, and the classic hotel interior was charming and inviting. The waitstaff were incredibly kind and the prices very reasonable. We will definitely return!

After a week in Budapest we came here to treat ourselves and it turned out to be the best food we'd eaten all week and the price was cheaper than a lot of the other restaurants where the food was really really rubbish.

The waiting staff are a bit aloof to start with but they became friendly or as the meal went on it was so good we've booked again for the next day. Would highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner.

Really lovely find. Actually prefer this to the New York Cafe.
The tea was wonderful and the first good pot of tea I have had. The fruit pie was incredible! Full of fruit with delicious pastry. Coffee also good (husband had that).
Service was really good without being over the top. A must go!

I have been twice for breakfast and afternoon tea.
The cake are nice and not so sweet which is the best.
The service are very good , i can feel their service mind.

The food, service and location are amazing. The traditional hungarian dish chicken paprikash was very tasty. I will definitely come here again when I'm in Budapest.

Nice place in the centre, very luxurious atmosphere with touch of history. Nice coffee, pastry wish a bit better. Staff is very welcoming and helpful

Charming coffee house, authentic atmosphere. The afternoon tea set is very good value. The waiters were patient and kind. Special mention to the Gerbeaud cake (with walnuts).

A late lunch and the Sweet Hour special on ValentinesDay. When we arrived we were allowed to choose our own table. We chose one by the window, which allowed us to have a street view for people watching as well as a clear view of the interior of the elegant restaurant. Service was prompt and efficient, while wait staff was not proficient in English they certainly knew enough to manage very well. Lunch was elegant and simple and tasted delicious. Most, if not all, menu items were identified with known allergens. You can enter the cafe from outside or directly from the hotel lobby.

The place is very clean, the staff is very polite (appreciated that the staff seemed to be from the older group of working people)

The service was very fast, we ordered goulash soup, Astoria schnitzel and a dessert. All came super quick and fresh.

The prices are a bit higher than usual (we paid around 19000HUF for 2 persons - 2 lemonades, 2 soups, 2 main courses and 2 deserts), but the atmosphere and architecture inside match what you expect when you see the place from the outside: a more luxurious experience.

Stunning building and beautiful atmosphere. We even had live Piano music. I ordered the chefs offer and got a great pumkin risotto. The portions are a bit small, but that leaves enough room for a desert. The prices were absolutely fair. Service was nice too. I really enjoyed it.

The place looks and feels ancient, as it really is. The inside is particular and I quite appreciated it. The weiters are kind.
Coffee and croissants are fine, probably as everything served here.
The prices are incredibly good, also for the buffest breakfast.

The enviroment is very classy and calm.
We went for breakfast and we eat croissants and Apple strudel with cappuccino and all was very good.

100 year old restaurant with an amazing interior design. The staff is elegant and food was delicious and quickly served as well, expect reasonable prices for Hungarian cuisine classics.

The food was very good. But I was disappointed that I didn't get the 30% discount with the Budapest card. When I asked to pay and get the discount, they said I had to tell them I had the card before I ordered. I just went with it and paid regular price.The food prices are in the $$$ range.

Extremely cute coffee place, the vibe is amazing because the furniture and decorations are spectacular, you feel transported to the 20th century.

The cakes were also really good and coffee is also ok. The waiters were really useful and polite, and at the same time friendly.

Although it looks expensive, it is not. Prices are good and not more expensive than any other coffee place in the city center.
