Okay Italia Szt. István krt

Great. A classic Italian trattoria, right at the busy main street leading to Margit island — food is of great quality, they even serve fish and sea food .. and those are fresh from the sea. The salmon has been a lovely choice, freshly grilled — tender, with a sparkle of lemon to it. The spaghetti were really nicely done, perfectly ‘Al dente’ with a nice, rich tomato sauce; sounds simple, but require good ingredients and skill to prepare. There’s an outside terrace for the warmer summer months, traffic can be an issue. Service is great, people are nice and friendly.

The BEST ITALIAN restaurant in Budapest!!! The pasta was even more delicious that the past in Rome. The lasagna with mascarpone is on fire. The staff wasn’t bad but they do not speak English so they seemed a little bit of rude. The prices are pretty reasonable. If you are in Budapest please go. We didn’t try the pizza though so i can not tell you anything about it.

I was in this cool pizzeria a few days ago. I think the two very polite ladies working there said something nice about Americans when they were behind the bar. If they would write what they said in English on a big sign and put it out on the sidewalk, it might improve their business. I was completely immersed in Hungarian society years ago and still understand some Hungarian language (I was surprised I could). The food I was served was okay. I'm teaching myself to cook these days, so I know I could do the Bruschetta at home. :-) I'll work on throwing some Calamari in a pan and see if I can make them taste better than the ones I was served in the restaurant (it might take me a while, but I think I can do it - I'll update this review later and let you know how it went). Budapest is such a cool, interesting, and beautiful city. Anyway. I think this is the funniest review I've written this year.

Always great food. I've been coming here for many years whenever I'm in Budapest. The food is just the best and the people are friendly. Love enjoying a meal while sitting outside in the area provided. On colder nights or times, the inside is beautifully decorated and inviting. I can heartily recommend any of the pastas on the menu, and you will not find a better pizza in Hungary.

Amazing food but I did not like the service. The hot chocolate was super nice, the texture was like a pudding. The pizza dough was perfect, thin, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

I think the best Okay Italia in the city. Staff could be nicer, but apart from that u can have a nice meal. The place is not that comfortable coz tables are too close to each other.

Pizza and soup was simply outstanding - and a very friendly staff to take care. It’s great fun to be here, enjoy the evening breeze and watch this busy street in its element

The food was great! The service was also really good. Friendly people.
Also the restaurant itself looked nice on the inside with pasta as decoration when you gonto the bathroom.

My girlfriend and I went to Budapest for a city break and just by chance ate at this restaurant on day 1. It was lovely, great service great food lovely atmosphere. We enjoyed it so much in the 5 days we were in Budapest we ate there 3 times. Even though we wanted the Hungarian experience we just enjoyed it so much. We did also eat in lots of Hungarian restaurants, we had the best time.

Upper part was closed due to a booking. We spent 2 hours and no one was coming there, instead we had to seat at small place, little distance between tables.
Pizza was extremely good, Tiramishu not as good as a few years ago and a bit overpriced. But it was ok.

Absolutely delicious, big portions and good price. Was amazing!!

The food here was so good, and the staff were lovely. I had the most delicious mushroom stuffed pasta with super bacon (speck), also their starters are fairly substantial but well worth having. One of my favourite fresh pasta experiences ever. Can get busy so you might want to book a table.

Came to this restaurant by accident when looking for somewhere to eat, had the most amazing pasta and gnocchi dinners. Definitely recommend. A lovely little restaurant. We came back on our last night here as loved it so much.

Excellent pizza, great service. 👍❤ Only thing.. Poor fish... 😪 Litle water in the dam... Not much of a fish life.. 😢
