Cheap and affordable coffee and soft drinks...

05/07/2023 Update. Ate here again on Wednesday and again it was great. Served again by Norbert who has been great on both visits. Food is just so good. Can't recommend high enough.
Fabulous grounds and beautiful buildings within City Park Budapest. We ate at Anonymus and all food and drink was great. 3 x flat breads of various flavours, chicken and ham, chilli beef and 1 x salad. All fresh and lovely. Washed down with a Soproni. Served by really nice staff.

Anonymus Étterem is located near the Vajdahunyad Castle and it's named so because of the Anonymous' Statue in the castle grounds. Generally I avoid restaurants near the tourist attractions but we were hungry and went here. And we were not disappointed!!

The main course we ordered was so aesthetic and equally delicious!! The Goulash Soup was good enough. Although the highlight of the meal was their dessert made out of egg yolk! We assumed it would smell of egg but my home chef of a husband was smart enough to know the opposite was true! And the lady (maybe the owner) explained to us how it's made and we tried it! It was heavenly and unlike any other European dessert we have had before. Unique experience. I suggest you to go to this place for a warm lunch. The servers are so welcoming. Good place for groups too and for families with kids. We went there without reservation of course and the places began to fill in soon. So maybe reservation is advisable.

The guitar music attracted me and that's why I came to the restaurant.
The two guys make a very nice impression and play very well. The music was pleasant in volume, but you could still talk. It would be nice to meet the two young musicians there again.

i like the place, i only drank an espresso. it was very tasty, and they gave me a cookie :) the prices are average, the staff is super nice, it's below the beautiful Vajdahunyad castle, and the interior is so pretty. i'm definitely going to visit again

Restaurant "Anonymus" in the Vajdahunyad Vara or Hunyad Castle is highly recommended during the visit to that castle. Portions are not very large, but food is very delicious. So, it is the place where you can enjoy gluttony here! Castle itself is a copy of the castle that was built for Janos Hunyadi (1406-1456) in the XV century in Transylvania in Hunedoara in modern Romania. Copy was built in 1896 out of wood, but it was so popular that it was rebuilt out of brick and stone in 1904-1908. Water from the pond had been totally drained. Otvenhatosok tere or City Park. Fast efficient service, food & drinks were hot , tasty and good portions sizes too! We can recommend the Muller wine and chicken schnitzel!!

I had a very different experience than a lot of other people writing reviews here.
Super nice staff, on point. I sat down and within minutes someone was at my table. The place was pretty busy but i got noticed.
The food was great and so was the wine, i really thought the staff was really good with everything.
The restaurant is in a beautiful location is like having lunch back in the medieval times.

Perfect, staff is friendly and bilingual, food is amazing and the view is fabulous. You can see little ducklings playing in the lake. Would recommend definitely.

Nice little restaurant close to the museum / castle in the park.
Seat by lake and watch the ducks going while you drink your coffee and have your Hungarian desert cake. Their main is good too. The atmosphere is really relaxed, and calmly paced.

Great mood! Nice see. I like more this lake than the Balaton.

Good food and good portion sizes, nice for a stop off after walking through the park or a trip to the baths

This place was very welcoming and sweet, portion size was great as well for the price!

We had a beautiful lunch here after visiting the Széchenyi baths. We sat outside and our waiter was spot on. Great wine selection. We shared the cheese plate as an appetizer and it was very generous. I had the chicken paprikash lasagna which was SO good. My husband had a hamburger which was tasty but he found it difficult to eat due to the dense bun. I would come back here again if I could!

Highly recommended, we had a perfect shisha (it was still good after almost two hours of smoking it), everything else was also high-quality.

Friendly staff, not overpriced and a good goulash. The beer is cold and good. Location is great, near the castle. Overall, great place to eat in peace and quiet.

The food was amazing, and the service was great.

Went for drinks and a snack after lots of walking. Lovely location, lots of choice. Enjoyed a shisha overlooking the lake. Karoly served us while we were at anonymous, he was very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for a great experience.
