If you want to taste the authentic Hungarian food, this is definitely the right place to be. It’s the best dinner we had in Budapest, food, music, environment and service all perfect. Strongly recommend!

Amazing restaurant! We had an entree, main and dessert and enjoyed everything. There was live music the night we went and it really added to the night. Our waiter was great with recommending a good wine and also helped with our menu selection! Would definitely return if we went back to Budapest!

All the dishes were great! We had a great meal here. The soup and steak were excellent. They requested only cash here though, which was quite annoying because we had to go to the atm.

Very good traditional hungarian restaurant in center of Budapest. Very special duckbreast and very good the goulash soup. Location very suggestive, waiters professionals and friendly.
Musical accompaniment atmosphere and very welcome, very good the two musicians.
Absolutely recommended.

My favorite is the pheasant consomme soup. Service is great and very friendly. The food portion is big, remember to save some room for dessert.

Super recommended! I went there with my family today for lunch. It was such an amazing experience. The food was super tasty and we feel so satisfied, the service was perfect, the location posh and welcoming.
We have choose dishes from the 6.500 ft menu, which included a starter/soup, a main course and a dessert all for this price. We also tasted the Hungarian grappa which was also soo good.
Amazing!

We found this place just wandering around. What a great find! The whole experience is more than we expected. Live music, upscale, classic ambiance, and the food is way above anything you would expect. The staff are as impressive as the decor and food. Recommend for a date or group of friends. Be sure to have cash, the atm is just 2 block away if you forget.

Delicious food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. We had a fish dish and duck dish and both were tasty and well presented. The soft drinks were good too. Fairly priced at about £20 a dish. Only one veggie option.

Wow! We came here after a recommendation not knowing what to expect but we were blown away! The waiter was super friendly and explained everything to use English novices! I went with his recommended traditional stuffed pepper and the duck speciality ‘Duck Rozsnyai style’. My partner had the goulash and experimented with several wines the waiter let us try. The music duo was fab too with several classics played and some lesser known gems. We had to tip just for the service alone but everything was superb from the food to the decor.

I arrived alone, quite late, and was warmly welcomed. The waitress was very kind and helped me charge my phone. I really wanted to try the chicken paprikash so that’s what I ordered, but I think you should have a go for duck dishes. The chicken paprikash was good, yet not enough meat for my appetite, and the meat quality could be better. But overall I enjoyed my experience, and the live music is so nice!

This was one of the best restaurant evenings I have had ever, I think...and much to do with the music!
I had the set 3 course menu and this was lovely.. especially the Hungarian stuffed cabbage course. Nicely served in a lovely room with beautiful decor.
The smiling head waiter was very friendly.
For me personally, I was enthralled by the 2 musicians playing a range of Gypsy music from Russia, Hungary, Romania etc as well classical, film and popular music. They were having a great time, as the guests did as well.
They were also happy to play requests, such as Theme from Schindler's List... beautiful.
Thanks for a lovely evening all round...and letting me play some Scottish fiddle music for you too!!
Fun too 😀
Totally recommend this restaurant

We heard that this restaurant is specialized in duck dishes so we came here, and it doesn’t disappoint us! Their duck dishes are absolutely amazing, I was very happy with what I ordered: Wild duck leg stuffed with plums and plum sauce, it was so satisfying. The live music was a great plus as well which was the cherry on top. Definitely a MUST TRY in Budapest, don’t miss it!

The food was great! I recommend the traditional three course meal, which in my case was a cream soup, a crispy duck (which was seasoned and cooked perfectly), and slice of chocolate cake. The musicians had excellent skills and played a broad range of music, even occasionally asking guests for requests. I also enjoyed the artistic style of the restaurant, the oil paintings and vintage walls added a neat touch to the already great atmosphere. Overall, I’d definitely come again if I ever have the opportunity to return to Budapest. 10/10

The duck breast is terrific, so yummy and juicy. The dessert recommended by the waiter is also super nice.
Suggest to make a reservation by phone call in advance, the owner speaks perfect English.
The service is super friendly and the interior decorations are in good taste.
After dinner, you can enjoy the fabulous view of the Hungarian Parliamentary-building outside the restaurant.
The best experience ever in Hungary 🇭🇺

Was looking to have good, authentic Hungarian food and found this place. I was expecting the food to be good and it not disappoint as it was amazing food and service. We had the venison steak and a hunter’s stew, both were excellent. The fish stew as an appetizer, the wine and the dessert were phenomenal as well. I’m honestly amazed this place was not packed even though we went on a Tuesday night as the food was excellent and the waiter was super friendly and helpful with someone not familiar with Hungarian cuisine. He was very patient with my many touristy questions for him as well. I will absolutely be back whenever I return to Budapest! Definitely a hidden gem in Budapest!

Absolutely fantastic dinner! Probably the best I’ll have over my 7 days in Budapest. Where to begin? The waitress was extremely caring, providing thoughtful suggestions to the menu that added to the experience. I ordered the chateaubriand steak and it was cooked perfectly (photos for proof!)
The ambience was heavenly…as if we were sitting in an old European living room with a superb violinist and pianist playing intimately for the dining room.
I’m honestly surprised this restaurant doesn’t have a waiting list and demand reservations weeks in advance.
Highly recommend!

A lovely old world charm restaurant on the Buda side of Budapest. Beautifully decorated room with art that is also for sale! The violinist and pianist added to the enjoyment of the evening. I had a duck breast in an excellent savoury tomato, onion & nut sauce. The duck skin was lightly seared and the meat was medium well yet very tender. I loved the sautéed vegetables and greens with citrus and pomegranate! It was a really nice touch. Thanks also to the great waiters!
