Kispiac Bisztro

One of my favourite meals I’ve ever had. A lovely cosy restaurant of about 8 tables with lovely food, wine and staff to match. Totally deserved 5 stars and more!!!

The best meal of our entire stay in Budapest. Couldn’t fault any of it. The restaurant is small but the cosy and intimate atmosphere made it more personal. The food was out of this world.
RECOMMENDED: the wild boar goulash (definately select this over the goulash soup), and the Flóndi dessert. But everything was ate was sublime.
PS - no idea what the other reviews are talking about with rude service. The waiter and chefs were super polite, friendly, attentive and very helpful. Explained dishes to us, answered our questions, made recommendations, and showed us example foods to help us select our dishes.

I ordered the Halászlé, Hungarian fish soup, and was really very happy with it right until I tried my wife's Wild Boar Goulash. The Halászlé was good, I enjoyed it, but that goulash might be the single best thing I've eaten in Hungary so far. Now I know I have to return, and exactly what I'll be ordering.

Food and service was superb like always. I can only recommend if you want proper, traditional food in a restaurant which is also popular among locals. The place is small so booking is a must.

This restaurant exceeded our expectations by far! It was such a cozy and local restaurant with a lot of dishes to choose between, also a lot of Hungarian dishes. The hostess was one of the sweetest people and was so welcoming!! If we ever come back to Hungary this is the first place we want to go back to :)

We were pleasantly surprised as we stumbled upon this quaint bistro. The owners were friendly, efficient and proudly enthusiastic. We were given two fantastic Hungarian wines to try and they were both wonderful. We had the Hungarian fish soup to start with beautiful homemade bread. We had the slow roasted duck with vegetables and the tiger prawns with salad. The food was delicious. The interior is cozy and interesting with a few tables outside. PLEASE NOTE THEY ARE CASH ONLY.

A beautiful little restaurant with warm, homely food. There are maybe 8 tables in total which makes for such an intimate, romantic setting while the service and open kitchen makes it feel like you’re a personal guest of the family. Home to delicious food, particularly the fish and goulash soup, and one of the best ambiences in all of Budapest. We were lucky enough to wander in early in the day and book on the evening but a few people were turned around during the night so it’s worth popping in to reserve a table. But if you can get in, you’ll have such a cosy evening.

Make a reservation before you go. Good quality food that comes in huge portions. Love the quaint vibe and the staff are great. Cheaper wine compared to some other restaurants. Only 6-8 tables in the restaurant so it’s a cozy intimate space. One of the best meals in the city. CASH ONLY

Amazing meal for a good price, the fried goat cheese appetizer was one of the best things I've ever eaten. Im trying to get as many different things as I can while visiting Budapest, but it was so good I'm going back here at least one more time, even if it's just for the appetizer.

The goulash was very good as well, rich and a good portion size.

Food was delicious, especially the wild boar goulash, very tender and tasty, good portions, fantastic wine selection of Hungarian wines (the one I had was really good). Intimate atmosphere, small but charming and very good service. I'll absolutely come back.

A small yet comfy bistro. Served tasty hungarian foods. the waiter offered to keep our jacket and backpack at the corner of the bistro because of the packed place during

Great spot with very friendly and English speaking staff. The goulash and schnitzel were amazing. The side cucumber salad was also great. Affordable pricing as well.

A must visit in Budapest. Not here for best service but the food is really great and affordable. We had the fish soup (big portion) , grilled duck (recommended by owner) and wild boar ribs - all are delicious and on point (albeit the duck is a bit salty, we note that all European food is on the saltier note).

Highly recommended and if can, make a reservation as it is always full.

My boyfriend made a reservation for an early valentines date and we were so pleased with the whole experience! The restaurant is intimate, perfect for a candlelit dinner. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. The host graciously took my coat and helped me put it back on when leaving. They even offered a vase to the hold the flowers that my boyfriend gave me. A great date night spot for an intimate romantic evening

The beef goulash was incredible, a really deep flavour broth and meat which fell apart. All the other dishes got great reviews in my group. Definitely worth a visit. We came back again for the duck which was excellent.

On May 30, 2023, I had a great time at this restaurant. I had a late lunch outdoors, and I did enjoy being in there. The food was so delicious, and the wine was perfect.

Normally I don't go back to the same restaurant twice but we have had two evenings in a row with the nice people of Kispiac... The food was outstanding but sometimes - as everyting is fresh - not all items all available. The relatively small restaurant is lovely decorated and has a mixed audience of locals and foreigners. The menu is varied and the wine list is very extensive.
