Tasty hungarian food, good service and live music.

Found this restaurant while returning from the boat tour (it’s located on the way from ferry station proceeding to the center) and we heard some nice music from the restaurant - who knew that also the food will be so good. We didn’t make any good picture, but I promise, it is really a must visit.

I'm normally skeptical about restaurants that claim their the oldest - yet I passed by this exploring the city and couldn't help but to stop in. Generally assumed to be a tourist trap I was quickly proven how wrong I was.

Truly, I was blown away. By the food, the ambiance, live classical music all put together into an atmosphere that left you wanting to stay longer. Tamas was my server who was tremendous. I gave him the reigns and the food + wine pairing was outstanding. I will be left dreaming about it.

Appetizer: Grilled Brie-Like cheese with honey, walnut and fig.

Main Course: Grilled Goose Liver with apples and mash potatoes (yep, I was hesitant and it's one of the best dishes I ever ate)

Merlot Hungarian wine.

If you're in Budapest. Spend time here and don't rush.

The food was amazing! And it’s so affordable, delicious and new flavours. Beautiful introduction to Hungarian cuisine. Tomi my waiter was so kind, polite and helpful, gave me info about the food and even took pictures and videos of me when I asked. The staff are so warm 10/10 would recommend

Our first night in Budapest was nothing short of amazing. The staff the atmosphere were second to none. We were so excited to try the chicken paprakash as we grew up eating this as a polish descendent family. It did NOT disappoint. We were so impressed. Highly recommend.

Tamas was an amazingly helpful waiter, was able to advise on traditional foods and how to have them! Very helpful but also not encroaching onto your personal time and meal. The atmosphere is lovely, very romantic, live music is a lovely touch! Highly recommend this restaurant

If you want a taste of old Budapest, then do make sure to dine at this superb restaurant, close by the jetties for Danube river cruises. Excellent food and wine, with very attentive service, in a setting that must have changed little from its inception. I found it pleasantly reminiscent of places I had visited during the old Cold War era.

After 3 days in Budapest and visiting dif. Restaurants this was by far the best. Soup was great, Main dish (goose) was great. Live music was enjoyable and Adrian, our waiter, did a great Job. Thank you. I will come Back.

Good food, good ambiance, must visit at least once especially if you’re a first time visitor in Budapest

The food was delicious. We struggled to find good traditional Hungarian food options in Budapest, however this restaurant really delivered. We especially enjoyed the chicken paprikas and goulash.

Lovely authentic Hungarian food. Brilliant, fast service. Tamas was friendly and made great food recommendations.

Very nice local, during the lunch (Saturday) enough space. Great service. I recommend this place for those who wants to taste the traditional hungarian cuisine. The gulash soup and the chicken paprikash were really good. Greets David

After a nice hike I was craving a warm soup and chicken paprika. I stopped by this restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the onion soup and chicken. The soup in particular was as creamy and savory as possible and I really enjoyed the cheese melted on top of the bread as well. Service was impeccable and the restaurant has a very nice ambience. Would definitely dine here again.

Everything is excellent our personal waiter is Tamas is very kind and very helpful he suggest us very beautiful and very tasteful plates and also one very good rose wine thank you very much!!!

The food was good and service great. The entertainment (live 5 piece with violins, double bass and glockenspiel) and atmosphere were brilliant. 👍

Really nice place if you want some old-timey authentic experience. Great food! The paprikash was much better than other places. Live music every night is a nice touch! Altought its good to have some extra cash to tip the band.

Adrian was absolutely a great server. He spoke bilingual between me and my wife, we speak five languages, while Adrian is able to spoke six wow !!! We had an excellent meal not sure if I could get it anywhere else. All was on point experience it was fantastic
