True specialty coffee place. I had a great Costa Rican espresso - the americano double shot (and savoury croissant!) was superb. The barista is friendly, informative, and unpretentious. Strongly recommend this place if you are on the hunt for uncompromising specialty places with light or medium roasts.

The coffee served at Piknik - from multi award winning Gardelli beans - is (in my humble opinion) amongst the best in town. Yes, prices are higher than most others in the the area (certainly on the Pest side) but only reflective of the quality of the beans and the coffee. I visit almost daily, sometimes for sit in, sometimes for a take out, sometimes with a dog, often with friends. The coffee quality is consistently good and the staff always friendly and accommodating. Yes, there is no loo available and only a couple of tables inside to sit at, but this is not a place aiming at those planning to sit and work for a few hours. However, somehow there always seems to be space for a great coffee and a 30 min chat.

One of the very few places you find opened early morning. So I can drop by after my river walk. It’s a fairly small coffee shop with a cute terrace outside. There is no particular dessert menu - you just pick from what they have on the showcase. Excellent latte and amazing homemade macaroons although there are not available often. I would also recommend to try their pistachio cheesecake. They also have some sandwiches in the menu but I never tried one. Staff is always friendly and ready to keep a small talk in English. And they play some cool playlists there. Really nice ambiance in general.

Found this little gem during my morning walk. It’s just a stone throw away from the Szent Istvan Park. The coffee was delicious so the service. The staff put my coffee in a take away cup by accident, because of this he kindly offered me a 10%discount.I will return if im in the area.

Lovely coffee shop! They offer two different coffee types and the cakes are super healthy! Huge bonus for having Xilit as sweetener instead of regular sugar! Piknik is highly recommend :)

This is one of the best Cafe in Budapest. They serve the best coffee and deserts. The macaroons are so amazing. I always stop by here when I'm in the district. The barristers are really nice and provide great hospitality. 100% worth it!!

Great little coffee place in district 13 with a simple selection of coffee and fresh pastries 🥮 this p pass be is great for a quick morning coffee.
Located near the Danube u can also get take away and go for a nice walk bu the Danube or head over to margarit island for some outdoor fun.

I love PIKNIK! It’s a small store with limited seating (not that that matters right now), but they usually have 4-5 tables right outside. They’re one of the few places in Budapest that serve Gardelli coffee. Gardelli has a unique flavor, so it’s worth the visit. In addition to the coffee, they have a small, but good selection of paleo and vegan baked goods. There is also a selection of teas, jams and syrups. The staff is always friendly and speaks some English if that’s important to you.

Excellent coffee, very knowledgeable and friendly staff, a nicely decorated place and a small terrace to enjoy the sun and the atmosphere of this nice neighborhood. I came here each morning during may stay in Budapest!

They even have a picnic package offer - as the name suggests - with sandwiches, spreads and smoothies of your choice. Great selection of artisan jams, tea and other goods on the shelves.
