If you're planning to have an experience with Hungarian cuisine, this place will be the best choice. A variety of dishes are offered here, and the service is excellent. We visited twice, and I want to highlight the professionalism of Tibor and Laura in creating a cozy atmosphere. Our experiences here were so delightful that we decided to return. They truly make each visit unforgettable.

This is a family owned restaurant in a busy area of Budapest. If you want quality Hungarian food at a great value then this should be your choice! It's a small indoor area but outdoor seating is available. Arrive outside the lunch hour for quicker seating. Because it's so small inside the service is very prompt and efficient. The food is made fresh and arrives good and hot. Try anything with a sauce, the good goulash, or the raspberry drink.

We went to this amazing place twice during our stay in Budapest. This place offers amazing home made Hungarian classics with a perfect and quick service in addition to charming music and overall pleasant vibe. Will definitely return here!

Good, hearty meals with a warm atmosphere and service. You can't go wrong with the stews. they have normal and smaller portions so you can try more dishes. The desserts were also delicious. A family run business is always worth supporting, not to mention if their food can become the highlight of your evening. The space is small, so there might be a queue. But it's well worth the wait.

Amazing and very nice restaurant in the city center.

Family owned, with traditional foods served.

Not expensive, and the food is great!

The service is smooth and quick.

The staff was very friendly.

You have your queue outside because it’s always busy but it moves fast.

It really worths the waiting, totally recommended!!

One of the best Hungarian food restaurants I have visited that sells homey, tasty and traditional Hungarian food. The portions are just right, and we were very impressed with the quality and taste. My only regret is not having enough time to come back one last time before leaving Budapest. Rest assured, I will come back the next time I am here! Highly recommended, and prices are very affordable too!

One small but very nice restaurant. Family owned, with traditional foods served. Not expensive, but also the servings are on the smaller side, so be careful if you’re hungry.

The service is smooth and quick.

Very tasty, authentic local food in a cosy & informal setting. Friendly staff whom all speak English. Very reasonable prices and the portions are fair.

Booking is probably useful at busier times but for solo travellers you will be fine!

The Chicken Paprikash and chicken liver soup was tasty! Get a homemade fruit soda to go alongside your meal.

A tiny restaurant located in the city center. We were looking for a cozy and warm place near to the Christmas market and this local pop out.

We had a tasty goulash soup and palinka. I liked that their meals come in 2 sizes small and regular. They do not have warm beverages (coffee, tea, mulled wine).

Overall, it was a good experience.

Home-made high quality food. The dishes were great from traditional Hungarian cuisine. If not hungry, go for small portions. Capacity of the place is small and waiting in a 20 minute queue was definitely worth it.

***My Personal Review***

During my recent trip to Budapest, I had the pleasure of dining at this charming family-owned restaurant. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The menu offered a variety of traditional Hungarian dishes, and I decided to try the beef stew, which turned out to be absolutely delicious.

The service was top-notch, with Tibor and Laura going above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was enjoyable. Despite the small size of the restaurant, the staff was efficient and attentive, making sure that my food arrived promptly and piping hot.

I also had the opportunity to sample a local dessert, which did not disappoint. The flavors were rich and authentic, leaving me craving for more. The prices were reasonable for the quality of food and service provided, making it a great value for a taste of Hungarian cuisine.

Overall, my experience at this restaurant was delightful, and I will definitely be returning on my next visit to Budapest. I highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for a true taste of Hungary in a cozy and welcoming setting.

Lineups are huge but the wait is worth it — the food is excellent, the staff are attentive, prices are very fair. They have limited seating so be prepared to wait. Worth the hype.

I was surprised to find this place with delicious, traditional Hungarian food, served by multilingual, polite waiters.
Unique, local atmosphere with lots of competition nearby. All tourists should try the goulash once. I will definitely be back.

It’s a very cute place with amazing food! For our last day in Hungary we wanted to eat comforting home cooked Hungarian meals and this place was recommended. We had the traditional goulash soup, chicken paprikash with dumpling noodles, a dish I don’t really remember the name of with egg barley, and their raspberry soda! It was all so delicious for a really good price! Definitely recommend this place.

Having read some negative ratings about the service we kept our expectations low - turned out that we felt that both waiters were really helpful. The found a place for our group of five. Service was fast - which worked for us. We were not quite sure if our three children would like the food but they were all happy with their selection. It is correct that portions are more on the smaller side - but a main dish and a dessert is sufficient. Prices are reasonable. We would recommend the place for everybody who wants to try local food.
