The food here was absolutely delicious. We ordered the fillet steak sandwiches and they did not disappoint. You must visit this Hungarian restaurant when you are in town.

We found this place accidentally. Perfect snitzel nice Hungarian beer and wine. The atmosphere is perfect. But the most important thing was Jozny's service!!!

Picture this: It was a balmy Friday night, and I’ve just landed in Budapest for the first time ever. My taste buds were yearning for a taste of Hungary. As a solo explorer during this business trip, I walk down a few street from the hotel and by accident, I landed in the wild Corredor of this historic alleyway, where nightclubs pubs, strip clubs and restaurants, all collide in one place…

Looking for a good place to eat, and people watch, I set foot in Café Vian, ready to indulge in their tantalizing offerings.

The moment I entered, I was greeted by an enchanting ambiance that effortlessly blended the perfected atmosphere that beckoned diners to unwind and savor every moment. The soft glow of the lighting and the hums of conversations created a perfect backdrop for what was to come.

My culinary journey began with a bold choice: the Hungarian chicken paprikash with dumplings. As the dish arrived, the tantalizing aroma filled the air, igniting my senses. The tender chicken, bathed in a rich and flavorful paprika-infused sauce, was a true homage to Hungarian cuisine. Accompanied by pillowy dumplings that melted in my mouth, it was a symphony of flavors that left me craving more.

To complement this feast, I opted for a pint of cold local beer, a refreshing companion that elevated the experience. The combination of the hearty chicken paprikash and the crisp, golden beer was a match made in culinary heaven…. or something like that.

Café Vian, with its illustrious 23-year history, is a solid dining destination in Budapest and I recommend it to you.

For me personally, a huge plus to this restaurant is that Café Vian offers more than just a good dining experience; it's a great place for observation and connection. Late lunch after browsing through the Christmas Markets and chilled to the bone. The hostess seated me next to the radiator (when I asked for a warm location and even brought me one of the blankets). I started with Mulled wine that was half the price of the mulled wine at the Christmas Market. Followed with grilled duck breast, served with steak fries and Peppers and Onions stewed with tomatoes. I finished with coffee and a sliver of french apple pie with a carmel sauce.

I had a very good experience overall at this restaurant. The servers are really friendly and helpful, nice atmosphere, yummy dishes. The only thing that needs improvement is waiting time at pick hours. When it is very busy , be prepared to wait longer times for food

So far the best food in Budapest. Love the starter Tuscan veg platter, cezar salad and dessert. Very nice staff, happy to come back.

The dishes taste well and we liked the drinks. The service is good(Although was a bit slow) and the price are decent. Recommended.

It was the best schnitzel I've ever eaten. The chili sauce I wanted was a really great sauce that they made themselves. The potato salad that came with the schnitzel was also very nice. The interest and concern of the service team was also a matter of appreciation. Thank you very much and I will definitely come again.

Excellent food and drinks, even if our food was delayed with 30-40 minutes, we got 2 free drinks. Yes, they add at the end a 10 or 15% tip, but the service was great so the tip well deserved!

Lovely place for lunch. Staff very nice! Very reasonably priced as well. Really good options on the menu in terms of food and drinks, in particular cocktails. I had the Cuba libre and it was very refreshing. I would definitely return to this place if I were to return to Budapest. Also the restaurant is situated in a very pretty, lane if you like, full of bars and restaurants!

We had a great breakfast here. My wife had the poached eggs with spinach and Parma ham and I had a croque Monsieur. The portion sizes were fantastic. We also had 2 Bloody Mary’s which were very good. Service was also good

I was here many times and I ate always delicious food.
The staff is kind, the restaurant is clean and cozy.
Now we ate a menu. Although that wasn’t big portion but it was really tasty.
