Művész Coffee House (Artist Cafe)

One of the nicest coziest cafe’s I have ever been to. Of course it’s a bit touristy, but it’s very charming regardless. Feels very retro chic. Had the goulash soup and one of their desserts (chestnut chocolate dessert) and it was amazing. Portions are also great. The staff are friendly and excited to give you recommendations. Definitely recommend! A bit on the pricey side though, but that’s expected.

This is truly a nice place to grab a coffee and something to eat.
I love that it has a history behind it and it still remains authentic.
The ambiance is very nice with some good options for food and dessert.
Coffee was good, but the Frape that it is offering is not.
I'm coming from Greece where this has been a regular option here for years, i suggest visiting and incorporating the true version of it in the establishment.
Apart from that i would definitely visit again 👍

If you are familiar with Viennese coffee houses, this is very similar in style and in offering. We opted for the goulash soup which was very tasty and generous enough to serve as a main. We couldn’t resist the fantastic cake selection (which is what the locals seemed to be coming here for) and enjoyed a very nice sour cherry cake as our dessert. Strong recommendation!

There was plenty of staff but we still had to wait quite a bit for our drinks. Service is not overwhelmingly friendly, as seems to be typical for Budapest.

This is an authentic place for having breakfast in Budapest. We visited here and ordered 3 different desserts. They were really awesome and delicious. Also, the staff was friendly and they speak English. You can pay by card but they prefer cash. There is outdoor tables and you can enjoy having breakfast there.

A classic typical coffee place of old Budapest. Location and atmosphere is excellent, but food and coffee is average. We ordered cakes and a sandwich and coffee. All in, we recommend to come and have a cup of coffee if you are looking to experience the traditional Budapest vibe. Maybe other places for food.

Really cute cafe with delicious cakes, special coffees, and a tasty goulash soup. Reminded me of Austrian coffee houses. Lots of locals were here when we visited in early January, so it didn't feel like a tourist trap :)

Really majestic place, coffee are one of the best I have drunk. When it comes to the deserts man they are so good. Definitely recommend it. For its taste, atmosphere and service the prices are very well balanced.

A historical cafe with an atmospheric retro-style interior. We went here for coffee and sweets. Everything was very good and the only bad thing about the place is that it closes at 8 pm on Friday.

Service was top tier, bathrooms nice and clean, very beautiful restaurant. Cakes were _very good_ but not "the most amazing I've ever eaten". Service was definitely welcoming and best I've gotten in Hungary. Absolutely recommend!

Loved by locals and tourists alike. Always busy but their service is always attentive amd impeccable. Please do try any of the cakes offered inside on the two sides of the entrance door.

First time attending. Lovely atmosphere. Had the goulash soup and Wiena coffee. Beautiful cream to enjoy with the coffee. Soup was delicious and hot. The bread was fresh and enjoyable. Unfortunately only enough goulash soup left for one of us, but it was worth sharing. Lots of cream with the deserts which again was full and enjoyable. Would come back again. I’m still unsure of how to get attention to get the bill in Europe, but it appears you need to make a fuss to be asked if there is anything else you need once you have finished your last ordered meal.

I absolutely loved this place! Unexpectedly attentive and fast service. We ordered and the delicious cake and orange juice were on the table. I don’t recommend the croissant though. Wonderful ambience!

A lovely classic typical coffee place of old Budapest. Wide variety of classic and traditional cakes from Budapest’s culture. The cappuccino is also quite good! The waiters are kind and speak english!
If you don’t know how to pronounce what cake you want, just point it out to them and they’ll give it you :)

I liked hot chocolate and in general all cakes.. that we tried. The waiters were very polite and the place itself is very beautiful and has a special atmosphere! Recommended!

I had breakfast. The breakfast was nice. The menu is great as it is illustrated. Prices seem high but they are not. Because the price includes 1 glass of orange juice and 1 coffee or tea. Satisfying. I advise.

Please come here only if you like quality cakes, an upscale, elegant atmosphere, staff that will recognize you the second time you return, a place that was frequented by François Liszt and other top artists of world fame, gorgeous old furniture, clean bathrooms, reasonable prices and an incredible history. Obviously, most Google reviewers who post high marks for this place were touched by its incredible Old World charm and elegance. The negative remarks - I enjoy reading them and hope they will one day be able to return to feel the joy this place gives me every time.

What an incredible coffee house, best in Budapest. Breakfast was amazing and the sweets and cakes incredible. Service very prompt and efficient
