A great many excellent English books (fiction, non-fiction, history, mystery, modern, old, etc) packed into a very small space. I intended to buy just one book to see me through my Budapest stay but ended up with five. Cash only. Bring small bills. Most books between 1,000 - 3,000 forints. Be patient with the owner 💗

Really nice little bookshop with a good layout. Particularly well stocked in history books, classics and auto/biographies. Make sure to bring cash as Dani doesn't take card.

cozy, nice place! books are a tiny bit on the more expensive side, even for simpler copies. they couldn't make a greater discount than 500 for me, but i understand it, since they're a small bookshop in such current economy haha. it's a must visit nonetheless, even if only for the vibes

Amazing bookshop.
It was very nice, smelled amazing (book smell)
Bought 4 books this morning, Daphne du Maurier, Agatha Christie, W. Somerset Maugham and Stephen King. Was sad to leave some behind but my suitcase couldnt close already!!
Thank you to the person who was there working, I will for sure enjoy the books!
PS it was open in the morning of New years holiday :)

Dani`s shop has old-world charm and a wide variety of books, old and new. If you are a fan of second-hand bookstores, this is one you must visit while in Budapest. If you have already-read books to trade, even better. Back on the street, take in the castle with your new literary treasure in hand and find a quiet place to enjoy it.

It is a good bookstore but is currently closed. Google shows incorrect information.

Edit: I recently called them and learned that the bookstore is now open but only for a limited hours everyday. I believe between 12 and 2. Best to call before you visit!

Don't miss this wonderful English-language bookstore inside the castle walls in Buda. Very well-organized collections, great proprietor.

Wonderfully eclectic collection of English language books, we dropped in and found ourselves a nice tome by Agatha Christie.
