We stayed at the hostel next door and the food smelled so good we had to try it. Matthew was our server. He introduced us to great traditional Hungarian food and drinks. The service was amazing and the dinner was top tier. We'll be back!

Our first meal in Budapest couldn’t be better. We’ll be back.

We felt welcomed since the entrance being greeted in English, with big smile.

Food came fast and was delicious. Some flavors we had never had.

Four of us ate at this restaurant tonight. Food was excellent, particular mention for the ribs and beef stew and flat bread. Portions very large and excellent value. Staff were superb. Thomas is my most favourite waiter in Budapest, and great fun. We will definitely return. Thanks Fat Mamas

Very nice place with tasty food and extremely friendly service. Great beer too, you get 1+1 Soproni if you order before 6pm. Possible to get a table without a reservation.
PS Don't make a mistake like me. Camembert burger comes without meat! It is still delicious though. My recommendation goes to pork ribs + sweet potato.

We came to this place based on the Internet reviews and we don't regret it. Food was good, big portions, quick service, live music and nice, cosy atmosphere.

Meal was delicious, drinks too, waiter named Matthew was great and helpful. Definitely go with pork BBQ ribs and sweet potato fries! It's amazing!

We went there for a breakfast and the place definitely does not dissapoint! Great atmosphere, nice and polite staff, fresh ingredients. Eggs are perfectly made, salads are colorful and crispy. Coffee also very nice. Everyone will find something tasty there. I can only recommend!

A really nice place! The atmosphere is really cozy, the choice of music good (more on the chill side), the drinks excellent and service brilliant. Matt is a wonderful waiter :)

On Saturday afternoon, we arrived here, luckily finding a seat. When we finished eating and came out, there were already customers waiting in line. We ordered burgers, salad, and chicken wings. All the dishes tasted great. The waiter was very friendly, and we felt comfortable.

The atmosphere, service, food and music playlist was so great! It was my friend's birthday and they brought out cake which was super nice! Special shout out to Anna for such great service! Highly recommended!

Fat mama has a really cool atmosphere and both inside & outside. There are plenty of space and also good food. Timi helped us with the menu and she was so friendly.

Great place to spend Saturday day. Good atmosphere with very friendly crew (everybody speak English). Sandor is cool guy. The menu is really vast, food and drinks are really delicious. The gem for me is an apple-mint lemonade. This combination of sour and sweet flavours is really insane.

This was absolutely the best night we had in Budapest! Our server, Alex was amazing and recommended the best drinks and meals for us. There were some amazing live entertainment, best we have seen all week long! The food was exquisite. Definitely recommend.

My friend and I had a short trip to go to Budapest and finally decided to eat here. That’s the decision we have never regretted. Everything is good, the waitress is very nice and the food is the best and has reasonable prices. Highly recommend when you wanna try traditional hungarian dishes 🤩🤩

Fat Mama was amazing! I went on a Saturday night, solo traveler on a college student budget, and got seated & served right away. I tried the goulash and it was amazing, reasonably priced too. They had live music and traditional Hungarian dancing that night as well, such a surprise. The staff is wonderful too— about an hour after I left, I realized I left a shopping bag full of gifts at my table. I walked back in desperation, asked the manager, and she had set it aside and brought it right out. I was so relieved!! Would highly recommend :)

Love this place! All the food was incredible. I got the chicken paprikash and it was delicious. The outdoor patio is really nice and our waiter Matthew was super attentive.

The beef stew was AMAZING - especially on a cold ay, after a day full of walking.

The places is very comfortable and the staff very friendly.

The seemed to have amazing burgers.

We booked a table online if not you can go and wait maybe 15 mins but it is worth it.

Very reasonably priced with beer on tap.

We stumbled upon this location due to the restaurant next door being fully booked. :) Every dish packed with flavor. Their goulash was packed with meat and veggies with a nice flat bread to go with it. We also ordered the beef stew and chicken paprika with noodles. All Hungarian dishes did not disappoint. Service was also top notch.

We had dinner yesterday and it was really nice. The place has amazing atmosphere, the waiters were great, big thanks to Šandor, he was our waitress and he was brilliant! The food was pretty good we had pulled pork burger and BBQ pork ribs. We also had some wine which was really good as well! Thanks a lot.

My husband and I absolutely loved this place! The atmosphere is nice, the food delicious and the place is super dog friendly.

Our waiter, Martin, was very kind and we appreciated everything he did for us. He checked if everything was alright a few times and he brought a water bowl for our dog without us having to ask for it. We love meeting other people who love dogs as much as we do.

We ordered the Fat Mama burger and it tasted absolutely amazing! Drooling as I think about it now. I was surprised to find Friends inspired cocktails in the drinks menu and, even though I'm not much of a drinker, I had to try one as I am a huge Friends fan. I chose the Dr Drake Rumoray cocktail. It is a pretty strong drink for someone like me, who isn't used to alcohol and it tasted very bitter at first. However, Martin, our waiter, added something to it that made the cocktail less bitter and much more drinkable. I really appreciated his interest and effort for me to enjoy what I ordered and I was able to enjoy the drink afterwards.

A wonderful experience! Would love to eat here again and have Martin as our waiter, if we get the chance to be in Budapest another time.
