The Old Town has an awesome architecture and is probably one of the most preserved medieval town I’ve seen during my travels.

If you can get into Sponza Palace between all the weddings it's well worth it. There is a memorial room of the Defenders of Dubrovnik. It's dedicated to those who lost their lives during the Croatian war.
Great architecture and history.
It's not clear whether you have to pay to enter, no one charged me. Maybe due to the restoration work.

Great place to visit. The place has become very popular after the TV series Game of thrones has been aired. It is at the center of old Dubrovnik town near the bell tower on the Stradum. The entry is 8am to 7pm at summer but in winter it closes at 5pm. The entry to inner court is free of charge. To enter at treasury, the price is 2 euro or 15 Luna local currency.

Currently being renovated so only the ground floor is accessible (not sure if you are able to access the upper floors anyway), so not a huge amount to see, but it sure is pretty!
There's a small room to one side dedicated to the defenders of Dubrovnik during the war in the 90's which is worth checking out if war history is your thing. There is also modern art on display around the palace walls.
It seems to be a great place for wedding photography too as I saw a few brides being photographed here.

Absolutely stunning bit of history. Best time of day to take it in is about 3-5pm but it's even more beautiful at night time.
Take the time to look around at the water fountains, the faces have aged really well. Top tip, you can drink the water too. Just bring an empty bottle with you.

I felt like I had been here before... Then I realized that was because this is almost as Venetian as Venice itself! Everywhere you find the testimony that this was well and truly part of the Repubblica Serenissima.

Very touristy and busy place. Take in all the old town architecture and buildings and you will fit right in, so much to see here, make sure to try the ice cream, it’s the best!!

We followed another couple through the doors because it looked like they’d found something interesting - and I’m glad we did! It’s a strange area/ room, but on the walls were pictures in large frames hung from rails that showed old photos of the area. It was amazing to see what the central area ‘high street’ looked like 50 years ago. The tram going through town, I’m really glad we were nosey and went in!
