Forty Four Restaurant

On our last day in Dubrovnik (December 26) we were having trouble looking for a place to eat until we had happened to find Forty Four whilst walking around.

The meal we had here was one of three highlights of our trip. Aside from the wide array of local food and drinks, we also received great service from Marro.

We were also treated with extra wine and dessert - both of which were amazing.

My family and I strongly recommend Forty Four to those who are looking for a place to eat and enjoy while they are on vacation in Dubrovnik.

The food is amazing and the staff is extremely friendly. My extended family and myself are more than thankful for the memories, food, and service this establishment had given to us.

We only dined in the restaurant. It was a great experience. Our server was charismatic and great at recommending local dishes and wines. We did a table side fish special that was excellent! The local prosciutto is delicious! The poached pear dessert was also good!

This is the best restaurant in Croatia! Excellent and professional service.

We visited twice in 3 days - one for lunch and one for dinner.

We started with fish soup which is the best one in my two weeks in Croatia. The house bread with 12 years old vinegar is definitely a plus and show you what’s the level of this restaurant. The vinegar itself is one of the best vinegar.

Warm appetiser was prawns (huge one), the source for the prawns was soooo good!!
Main dish we ordered seabass, love the crispy fish skin.

Dessert we ordered lava chocolate cake and marinated pear. Both are the top of their own dessert category.

We came here as a group of six hedging our bets without a reservation on a Saturday night. We were given a lovely table at the rear of the restaurant. Across our table we had a range of dishes and were all very impressed with the flavours and presentation of our food. My only criticism would be the size of the main meals as these felt small given the price of food in this restaurant. Our server was really friendly with brilliant knowledge of the food and wine on the menu. If you are looking for some fine dining in Dubrovnik in a lovely central location in the Old town I would definitely recommend a visit the Forty Four.

Such a great dining experience, and Maro was the nicest server! The bread here is probably the best bread I’ve ever had - warm, soft and fluffy it was just as good as the main meal!

The pork filling in the Sarma was so well done.

The Pasticada beef was so soft. Gnoochi was generous

We ordered the Seafood Risotto and for the flavour of the sea was evident but not overpowering. Delicious.

The 400 year old Balsamic and Croatian olive oil combined is very very good.

Highly recommend this place.

Cannot comment on the hotel but we had an excellent dinner and service at the restaurant. Ordered the sea bass and swordfish main plates and they did not disappoint. Our server offered a delicious liquor as a dessert alternative (home made). Would recommend!

Lovely location with beautifully decorated rooms. Amazing dinner place too!

5/5 Great rooms that are modern and refreshing. LOVELY outside terrace. Quiet and PERFECTLY AIR CONDITIONED. Comfortable bed and pillows.
4/5 Service for the hotel was ok. Hard to find people to help. Only complInts are that our room was not refreshed and the confirmation for our early am taxi never arrived. Thankfully we found one on our own and made it to the airport on time.

We visited the restaurant which was amazing. I had dietary requirements which the waiter was more than happy to help me with. Me and my partner had amazing meals, all presented beautifully! A great experience thank you.

We were a group of five (one of whom is a chef) and every dish was great. The seafood risotto, the swordfish and the lava cake deserve special praise. This is a restaurant without a special view but which nonetheless has a great ambiance to go along with the world class food. Service was attentive without being too much. Kudos to the chef.

Dinner was absolutely fantastic as was the service. 3 of us split 2 starters and the catch of the day and it was plenty of food. Nice highlight- the balsamic reduction for the bread and oil was absolutely gorgeous. Highly recommend for dinner with friends, family or a date night.

Please do yourself a favor and visit the best restaurant that Dubrovnik has to offer - Forty Four. The staff are so kind and friendly, and they go very out of their way to make sure you have an amazing dinner experience. We will certainly come back here the next time we visit Dubrovnik. It is a must try for all those visiting the city. A special thank you to Maro and the team for their excellent service!

This restaurant is honestly amazing. Had the black ravioli and my friend had the sea bream, and we both really enjoyed it. Very nicely prepared and presented and the ambiance just topped it off. Highly recommend this place. Also, just wanna give a s/o to Antonio, our server, did a fantastic job at serving us.

This is the best restaurant in Dubrovnik! The staff, especially Maro, are the kindest people I’ve met while traveling. The food is incredible as well. You can really feel the Croatian culture in this place. I’ll definitely be back in the future!

Such a great find in Dubrovnik. Our waiter was Alberto, sold us on everything (he was definitely right about it). The food, wine, ambiance everything was perfect. A great dinner and an excellent service.

Also Alberto went above and beyond to charge my phone and meet every need we may have.

The best restaurant in Dubrovnik. They have a very talented young chef and the best waiter, Antonio. I strongly recomend the pasta with lobster, it's the best I've had in my life.

Beautiful restaurant with elegant and delicious food! I got lucky because I happened to just randomly walk by and they had a table available. I had the famous Octopus Salad and Seafood Pasta and both dishes were out of this world— not to mention the mouth-watering Cheesecake. Would definitely come back here and highly recommend!

I don't recall a hotel but the restaurant was good. We ordered two fresh fish and veggies. They also served us bread with some delicious olive oil. The service was fantastic and we especially liked it waiter who impressed us with how fast he could take the fish and cut it up into our plates. The fish was some of the best in Croatia but unfortunately I didn't get the name of the fish. Great service great food.

We had a flawless dining experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was exemplary. My recommendation for anyone in Dubrovnik
