Roneey Shuttle and Rental #1

La Ceiba, Honduras to Puerto Barrios, Guatemala with Johan. The trip was excellent. Johan is a great driver and navigates the unique road and traffic conditions well. The shuttle was clean, and in good condition. And as an added bonus, Johan has great taste in music.

The border crossing was also smooth. We arrived just before a bus full of people, so I expect things can take lo ger depending on your situation. Changing Lempiras for Quetzal through the shuttle window got a surprisingly good rate compared to the official market exchange rate.

We actually booked a shuttle from Puerto Barrios to La Ceiba with Gekko Trail Explorer. But it came a shuttle from Roneey. It seems the work together.
The 5 stars are for the nice friendly driver Jay.
Jay was incredible. He was sooo great!!! He was fighting with time that we will all get the last ferry in La Ceiba. He was fast but very save. He is a very good driver with a lot experience. He was amazing. And he made it in time. We got the boat. Thank you sooo sooo much Jay!!! And we loved the music what was playing ... METALLICA... So cool!!!

Took the shuttle from La Ceiba to Leòn. Price of 60$ was better than from other companies. They picked us up at the harbour and brought us to the shopping mall for waiting. We left quite on time in the evening. They changed the driver during the night (very important safety factor). Drivers made some stops so everybody could buy food or go to the toilet. They spoke English also. The van was in a good condition with AC. Nothing to complain about.

Only found it weird that we had to pay 16$ to the driver for the Nicaragua entry, when people from somewhere else payed 13$

Really smooth and easy trip from Rio Dulce to La Ceiba! Minibus was clean and had AC. The driver, Juan, was friendly and funny, checked often that everyone was comfortable and guided us through the border crossing. Felt very safe! I'll definitely use the company again!

Didn't actually use service due to widespread flooding so my trip was cancelled.

A really smooth service with excellent drivers - we travelled from Leon to Antigua and managed to do it in around 15.5 hours! The drivers were so helpful at the border crossings.

The only negative was that when we got on the bus the seats we booked were being occupied, so we had to awkwardly ask someone to move. We'd have rather people stuck with their booked seats.

This is a great and reliable company. We took the illustrious 18 hour shuttle from Guatemala to Nicaragua. We had to navigate through 7 border stops that included leaving/entering the 4 countries.

The shuttles were comfortable, drivers courteous and fast (important for 18 hours!). It was also very well priced. $65 for 18 hours is pretty amazing. Best of all they are experts at navigating how to navigate border stops because they know all of the short cuts and “unusual” tactics you need to know! The worst border is entering Nicaragua. We spoke to many people who did this independently and it often took 2-3 hours. With RoneeyShuttle we were through this border in 30 minutes. I highly recommend using Roneey, especially if you’re crossing borders.

Took the shuttle from León to Antigua during Semana Santa. We slept like babies throughout the first half, border crossings were really busy because of the holidays but Armando our driver managed to get us quicker through most of the crossings, made all the needed restroom and snack stops for us (we probably needed more than was included 😅) and he even added a quick stop at a beautiful mirador to the trip. It took long (over 18 hours with the busy borders) but didn't feel too long with entertaining stories and good company!

We have read a lot of past reviews for this company that are very poor but we took a chance anyway and we were really happy with the service! They were late to pick us up but that’s standard in this part of the world. The driver was very organised and sorted all of the border crossings for us (which we’ve since realised is no easy task after crossing into Honduras again on our own). It was also very helpful to have someone fluent in Spanish with us the whole way at all of the document check points. The second driver we had let us all stop for food which was great. Overall it was a good experience and well worth the cost to not have to make the potentially unsafe journey from Leon to El Salvador on your own.

took the shuttle from Leon (Nicaragua) to El Zonte (El Salvador). we considered various companies but were so glad we booked with Roneey. punctual pick-up, comfortable A/C vehicle with plugs, responsive on WhatsApp, clear on documents and border fees to standby in advance. especially thankful for our friendly drivers Eduardo and Minor who showed extreme professionalism, were communicative, drove safely and efficiently, and always took the initiative to answer any questions or provide help where needed. in comparison, there was a tourist shuttle pick-up from our hostel run by another company with an entirely different service experience. this other operator was fairly hands off and curt with passengers, leaving them to find the right lines for processing documents, they even had to offload baggage at certain points when we didn’t have to.

Comfortable and reliable shuttle from El Zonte, El Salvador to Leon, Nicaragua. There's comfortable space and chairs with headrest. Driver was punctual so be at the meeting point on time. The border crossing went smoothly.

This review is related to what Lenka Sefrnová posted on the 16th of January. I’m writing this so that the managers can know what really happened in case she asks for a refund.
Nothing that she wrote is true, this is what happened. Lenka Sefrnová and her boyfriend/partner were in my shuttle going from Guatemala to Honduras. They were missing a document so they had an issue crossing the border and had to pay $200 dollars at migration (which doesn’t accept card). They didn’t have enough cash so everyone on the shuttle helped out, we all gave cash in different currencies to get the $200. The driver kindly gave his money and borrowed money from his friend as well. Once we finally crossed the border and reached an ATM (the woman said she would pay us back asap), she took forever to get cash out (for some reason her card wasn’t working) and then tried to deny the fact that the driver and i gave her money. She paid everyone back but him (only partly), refused to give him all the money she owed him. After arguing we decided to leave them at the gas station since they weren’t going to pay. Rudest people i’ve ever met.
Overall 100% recommend this company, had 2 lovely drivers and the drive would’ve been super smooth if it wasn’t for that weird couple.

I used Roneey's shuttle service to get from Leon in Nicaragua to Antigua, Guatemala via El Tunco in EL Salvador! It was all very easy and I highly recommend them. The staff in the office in Leon were also really helpful. I highly recommend staying in el tunco on the way to break up the journey.

I had an amazing shuttle from El Tunco to Leon with Rooney's. It was a really comfortable and smooth ride. Special thanks to my driver Melvin who made the drive fly by with his friendliness and great stories!

Took a shuttle from la ceiba to Antigua. Even with multiple roadblocks, they managed to get everyone to the other side of the roadblocks and continue. Also switched drivers midway and were very friendly.

Great shuttle. Used the service twice, at first from León to La Ceiba and also from La Ceiba to Copán de Ruinas. Fast and convenient. Walter is the best driver. He is very kind, drives safe and knows the best places in La Ceiba.
