A must place to dine is Captain Willis restaurant.. lovely place with high end cuisine, delicious traditional dishes with a gourmet twist! I tried the Chicharrón con Yuca plate 🤤

Utila is the crown jewel of the Bay Islands. Whether you're going on a romantic escapade, to take a SCUBA dive course, a trip with friends or just to have a nice chill vacation, this small island has it all. It's cozy, clean, safe and warm. If you haven't been, go now. It's definitely a must visit!

This island is a very special place - not just because of the scenery and the diving but because of the people. Islanders, Mainlanders, and ExPats all come together to create a community unique to any one that I have experienced wherever I have traveled. As a former British Colony the Islanders grew up speaking English and while Spanish is the language of Honduras - English is the language of Utila. At times the Islanders have been neglected and ignored by the mainland and the effect that this has is that at times they get along with and relate to expats and travelers as well or better than they do other Hondurans. I'm convinced this is what makes it easy not just to be a part of the community here. It's an island full of people that just don't quite fit in well anywhere else. I love it. Come for a week and stay for 3 months. You'll love it too.

Beautiful island. Gorgeous ocean view. Wonderful snorkelling. And famous diving place. People are nice and friendly. We fell in love with this island after visiting many other carribean islands and ended up having our second home here.

Utila is a great place to share with yours, has an average price for food, souvenirs and beverage, is a medium-small Island that have almost everything, Internet, Great Cellular Signal, Many brands of Bottled water, a wide variety of restaurants and kinds of food, very comfortable kind and secure small hotels, most of them built of wood, that makes a great smell during night and a fresh weather.

Most of hotels offer A/C and free transport to the Ferry after your checkout.

#Utila has a great people that receives local and foreign tourists in a great manner, you may find great places for snorkeling and diving, as soon as you get off the ferry your adventure will start an amazing bounge of life memories.

great if you go there alone, with your couple even with your whole family, night parties, great romantic places and white sand beach with non deep sea level and a crystal water for your kids!

Utila, sometimes referred to as The Rose of The Caribbean, was formally known as primarily a dive destination. That has been changing these past, recent, years, as more and more people are simply discovering the Utila Lifestyle and they yearn to embrace that. Utila is unique among most Caribbean islands because here there is not the chasm dividing the locals, the tourists, or the long term expats. We don't have any place here where you are not welcome because of some preconceived notion. You can certainly find yourself being frowned up, but that is generally a reflection on what you bring to the table with you, not what you find here. (As an example, jewelry is not commonplace on Utila, not because it is not available or ever affordable, but because it stands out somewhat ostentatiously.)

Sunset is a huge draw here, with many dockside bars and restaurants offering premium seating for the Greatest Show On Earth. We have hosted a number of professional photographers who exclaimed delight in Utila Sunsets some saying that they, in number, incomparable.

With diving still being the initial reason many people first look at Utila, there are professional dive shops on the island to cater to your desire to "get wet". By and large, the single biggest difference in the multiple dive shops here is the basic "personality" of the shop. You'll find some world recognized dive establishment here. Some cater more to a younger crowd, others to tech diving, others to larger groups, and even some independent operators for those that prefer an even more laid back dive experience. If you dive, or want to learn, this is the place to do it!

For those that don't dive, there are always fun ways to wile away your days. Rent a quad and go exploring, spend an afternoon on horseback visiting off the beaten path trails. Volunteer at our schools or join in a beach cleanup. Take a full or half day deep water fishing charter and bring your supper back home with you.

Whatever the reason that brings you to Utila, it is certain that you'll leave with more than you came with. Our lifestyle is infectious!

One of the paradise places I've visited so far. It's a gem in tje caribbean. Chilled vibe, late parties and slowed down time are the attributes you find on Utila. Most famous however is the diving in Utila. Not only is ot the cheapest in the world, but provides amazing reefs with huge visibility and super warm water (approx 29 degrees). If you are around, take yourself some time and visit Utila! Danger: The stay is addictive!

Utila is a great Vacation destination. A very small Island that offers so much! The food is amazing, the people are so nice and there are several great dive shops if you are interested in diving. Very low key. Snorkeling and diving is wonderful on this Island since it is the second largest reef barrier in ther world. It's not an easy island to get to but well worth it.

Utila is a wonderful, low-key place to relax, dive and relax. Not much going on in town, but if you love being by the water, diving, fishing or just chilling in a hammock, Utila is or you! It's remote and secluded. Infrastructure is a bit lacking, but the people are friendly and the dving is spectacular. Definitely worth the trip!

This review is for nondivers. I love Utila. It is a party island. I dont drink, smoke, or dive but I still have a blast going out to the beach and bars with friends. Playing volleyball and eating at Under Water Vision. If you don't dive then snorkeling is a good option. You can go to Bush's, get the gear, and hop in the water anywhere.

Honduras' hidden jewel. Like going back in time to a more relaxed era. Get off the ferry and everything is right there. Prices are very reasonable too
