King Street Stores

I needed to deal with King Street Stores recently to resolve a parcel delivery than had gone a bit awry due to a messup with the courier and nothing to do with the store. I dealt with Sue and she could not have been more helpful in assisting me resolve the issue. Many Thanks

Great convenience store with Post Office facilities. Very handy and open late.

A handy 7-11 store with a Post Office and a free cash withdrawal point, after the last Bank closed. This is the only reliable "bank" in Combe Martin, a so called "holiday resort". The other two banking sources either charge or aren't reliable, or require a purchase before cashback. King Street Stores prepares fresh food on site, but their staff are not trained and their food hygiene is dodgy. Bread is left out to the germs, unwrapped on open shelves, and we found a hair in their cakes.

Post office okay, noticed that the shelves were bear and offered to make a supply run for free and wasn’t interested.. I have 3.5t van..

The post office hours here are so unreliable and they close the post office counter for staff reasons very often, so you often end up wasting a trip there.

Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever experienced. We pre-ordered food at around 2pm to be delivered at 8pm. We called at 8:20 when nothing had arrived, and were told it was on its way and would just be a few minutes.
We called again at around 9pm, and were told that it hadn't left the kitchen, they were just waiting for one item. If it hadn't even been made by the time we first called, why lie to us?
At around 10 we called again and were told that the person there was new and didn't know when food would be or how to get a refund.
In the end, we decided to order food from elsewhere, which was difficult as by this point it was gone 10:30 so most places were closed or closing soon. We ordered from Munchies, then maybe 5 minutes later our Chinese food finally arrived. (The food from Munchies arrived within 15 minutes of ordering, and was delicious).
The food was still hot, so either they had just cooked it, or it had been sat on a warming plate for a while and they hadn't sent it out. Either way, they lied to us.
The food was bad, mostly bland, my char sui sauce was incredibly salty, they only sent one chow mein when we'd ordered two and had no vegetable spring rolls so sent duck ones, which were frankly horrible.
Essentially, terrible service, awful food, and absolutely not worth the time and money. We are seeking a full refund.

We decided we'd like a Chinese takeaway one night on our holiday. Wish we hadn't bothered. It was late arriving and not fit to eat when it did arrive. Don't waste your money, you'd be better off with beans on toast. If I could give no stars I would.

Ordered via just eat app, 7pm. Order was accepted but didn’t get a confirmation that the delivery was on way during delivery window.

After calling for half an hour eventually got through to them. Got though at 9.10pm

A lot of the items were out of stock, no advance phone call and clearly weren’t prioritising or even processing orders in sequence.

They hadn’t started the order at the point of phoning.

If you can’t process orders through JustEat, don’t do it.

We ordered 2 dishes at 20:40. After 2 hours we phone up and we were told our food was being cooked. Another hour later we phoned the restaurant and said they had mixed up our 2 dishes, and were told it would be another 30 minutes.

When you are on holiday trying to relax waiting for over 3 hours and receiving no food is simply disgusting.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT AND GET YOURSELF A MEAL DEAL FROM TESCO.

Ordered Eggfriend rice, chickecn curry, chips and prawn crackers.

Actually got egg friend rice, chickecn fried egg rice, curry sauce and prawn balls.

Post Office gone, low stocks in the shop, and no cigarettes. Not really worth visiting.

It took over 2 hours and it was vile. Would not recommend.
