The castle may not be grand, but it offers plenty of exciting things to see and explore. Trust me, kids won't be bored here as they get mesmerized by the multiple facets of the rooms, enchanted trees, and streams that surround them. The staff is wonderful, polite, helpful, and attentive. And let's not forget the many rides for children and the maze, which add to the excitement. The museum is also very informative about the history of the castle, so don't be afraid to explore the chambers like we did! 😂

Unfortunately, the food options are limited, and they do not offer decaf coffee or many dairy-free options. However, the handmade pizza and pasties, along with the vegan roll and vegetable pasties, are worth trying.

We spent a few hours exploring the castle and everything it had to offer, and we enjoyed every minute of it. Would I visit again? Without a doubt!

Had a wonderful day. We had my 2 daughters and our grand children with us. I'm classed as disabled, some of the steep pathways were a no no for me. But definitely go again, it's a stunning place to go and admire.

Fun day out for all the family we really enjoyed it and spent a few hours there. Some off the rides was close because of the rain 🌧. They are some very steep hills to walk up. The toboggan is up a very steep hill it would be a good idea to put a sign up at the bottom if not running save people walking up. Golf was good and the maze . They had loads off 2p machines from back in the day so take some 2p and 10p with you .

What an incredible place! I vaguely remember coming here as a child some 25 years ago but don't remember it being anything like this.
This is a beautiful mixture of classic architecture in an old world setting, with a theme park somewhere in the middle😀

This can easily be a full day to see and use everything, but out of season, we were able to get around in about 4 hours.

Prices are incredibly reasonable, food and drink is about what you would expect to pay at your local shop.

For me, the best part, nearly all games machines etc. we're just 2p, 10p or 20p!! Unbelievable, in a world where everyone takes advantage of external factors to hike up prices, Watermouth stays true and charges what it needs to, not what it wants to, very refreshing.

We visited yesterday with our 3 year old who has additional needs and immediately knew upon arrival we were going to have a great day just by how we were greeted!!.. We came at 1.30pm in the hope it would be a little quieter for our daughter and timed it perfectly as although there were many other people there it felt like we had the place to ourselves at times.. We absolutely loved the coin machines in the castle and it was so lovely that our daughter could interact with all of them (and with them costing 2p or 10p she could use them as much as she liked) We could have spent all day inside the castle and even braved the dungeons and loved every single minute!! We totally forgot there was an outside and wow just wow.. all the interactive displays in the Gnome village and the absolutely stunning grounds.. I honestly can't describe just how beautiful it is here and so well kept! Every single staff member we encountered along the (very steep) way were just wonderful and couldn't be more helpful or polite!! Our daughter with help and encouragement went on all the rides with us knowing they would be stopped if she was scared and the confidence she came away with was just beautiful to see! The morning rain had closed the toboggan ride but the staff worked really hard to dry it all and get it open later in the afternoon so we didn't miss out 😊 I just cannot rate you all highly enough and this by far was one of the best days out I have had this year. Thank you all 🖤

What an absolutely brilliant day out. Arrived at 10am, left at 5pm, and managed to get round everything without rushing. The kids (6, 4, & 2) had an amazing day, nice combination of history and fun.
2p and 10p machines were getting used heavily, gardens are beautiful, nice array of activities that satisfied all 3 kids, things to do, things to look at, fantastic place.
The toboggan was not in operation on our visit (maintenance) we did know this before arriving though and it didn’t effect our enjoyment of this lovely place.
2 adults and 3 children came in at £62 with a discount code.

Awesome family day for small children. The gnome village is interesting and Victorian style rides.

Recommend to buy toboggan tickets online before you go.

We had an amazing time at this hidden gem, we went during off peak times which I’d advise as it can get very busy. The attractions are fantastic they are well looked after and very impressive, it’s fun for all ages it did seem the adults were having more fun as A lot of the attractions are from our childhood. We will definitely be going back

Great experience if you have small children. The castle itself has an interesting tour around the inside. Bring change! We don't carry much cash these days so was upset that we didn't have any 2p or 10p coins to spend on the abundance of classic arcade machines which looked really fun.
Once the castle tour is done you get to walk round to the gardens that are filled with more interesting attractions to see and interact with. There are also many kids rides, slides and play parks.
Some of the attractions are a little dated and worn but is part of the magic as the park seems to specialise in classic entertainment devices.
A couple of food venues providing snacks/food/drink/ice cream. Plenty of toilets.
Overall a great experience that will fill a day.

Had a great afternoon. Staff were friendly, arcade games were great and cheap to play. The water show was fun to watch! There are lots of things to see and do. I would recommend a whole day though.

We absolutely loved it. We went for the castle and did not realise that they have a theme park there too. It is for small children, but we actually really liked it as well. Lots to see and to do. They are doing a water show, they have a cool dungeon, lots of small games to play, lots of flowers to enjoy. £18/full day or £12 after 1:30pm.

Currently on a little break with my daughter and partner in Westward Ho! And this was recommended by the owner of the holiday home we’re staying in as per a little book of recommendations she left us.

Just to say thank you for such a lovely day - this is great value for money and our 7 year old daughter absolutely loved it, she definitely made some great memories. The staff here are super friendly and made our daughter who is usually quite shy feel very welcomed and excited. Would highly recommend to friends and family visiting Devon :)

The place is amazingly beautiful with spectacular scenery. We did castle tour then went to the Theme Park for the rest of the day. We didn't buy tickets in advance and there was no wait. The castle tour was fantastic with very informative historical information and events. We had so much fun and loads of screams in the Pirates dangeon. Lots of games to do during the castle tour. You need 10 pence & 2 pence for the games in the castle. You can bring cash and get change at the coin machines inside.

The theme Park is amazingly beautiful. Loads of rides and things to do, all included in the ticket price. Perfect place for a day out with family members of all ages. Lovely places to relax and connect with nature. Those with kids can bring spare clothes for kids as there is quite a number of water play areas.

The place is very clean and well maintained. There are cafés with very reasonable prices and ice cream trucks.

You need the whole day to explore this place. We literally spend the whole day at the theme Park and did not explore the whole area. Highly recommend this place. I will definitely go back again.

What a charming place to spend the afternoon. The collection of antique arcade machines was fantastic, (many playable for 2p's and 10p's) The fountain show was lovely and to top it off was accompanied by what I think was a fairground organ. Toe tapping nostalgia at it's best. We played crazy golf and had our first ever game of crazy pool golf played with cues. Both games were included in the entry fee and the £1 per ball was refunded afterwards. The gardens are absolutely beautiful and there are lots of interesting things to see around with many buttons to press and holes to peep in. We didn't have kiddies to make use of the little rides, but we will definitely be telling friends to check it out with their families as they looked like fun. We sampled the delights of the fudge shop and invested in a significant supply. It was delicious!
I can only think of one downside really and that was the very steep slopes. Every effort was made to make as much as possible accessible, but it was tough going for anyone with mobility issues and although I parked in disabled parking, it was a hilly hike from the exit to where it was. Unavoidable and only mentioning it to give others the heads up and not complaining at all. Carer and disabled cost only £4 each for a delightful afternoon which was sufficient as it was a weekday and kiddies still at school.

Possibly, the best place ever to exist on this planet!!! I love Gulliver there, I love all the rides, animations and the displays. I always go once a year (sometimes twice!) And I love it so much that I just can't get enough! Absolutely incredible!!!!!

A strange experience as a real mixture of old fashioned attractions and small theme park which is set above castle and in steep valley with lovely trees and landscaping.
Could imagine active grandparents taking grandchildren here and first part inside castle evocative of attractions 40 years ago.
Polyphons..wutlitzer organ..model railway..odd collections and then down to dungeons to see mannequins in displays with some lights and sounds.
And dotted around are lots of penny arcade machines one would have used on a pier.
Extra cost anything from 2p to 20p..what the butler saw machines probably not suited for younger visitors!!
Walk to theme park a little way but has captured tableaux in wooden barrels to keep amused.
Rides for smaller people mainly.
Food outlet at centre better than at castle and did quit acceptable pizza.
Adventure snooker worth a try..unique and never seen before.
Putting ok..May seem extra cost but you get money back once return balls.
Maze a challenge as on a slope but we'll maintained and in Nice garden section.
As adults could only do 2 rides but fun and ski run thing right at top of park..have to pre book fun.
Finally the gnome village naff but a laugh with info boards giving history of gnome life and opportunity to pan for gold.
Oh yes..how could I forget best part magical coloured musical fountain display in a theatre.
About 14.00 per adult..we stayed all day and enjoyed a family theme park.. small rides..curios..collections..maze..fountain show as a reminder of old tech entertainment.

Went today. Was wet, and quite quiet as a consequence. Great experience for the kids. They loved it. Niece said "best day ever".

All the staff we spoke to were friendly and nice.

What a find!..... ! Firstly, the staff are super friendly, some of the best customer experience I've come across at a family attraction. The site was clean and with it being midweek during school time, we basically had the site to ourselves! 4 year old daughter had a great time, going on many rides multiple of times... most of the time, the ride attendant asked if she would like to stay on. A lot of places will either close certain attractions or run on minimum staff (where the customers are affected,) but not here.. fantastic work from the owners/management.
Yes, it is hilly and a bit of walking is involed, but it's to be expected in exmoor!
Will definitely return if visiting the local area again and will be highly recommending to family and friends visiting exmoor in the future.
