General Store Winchester

Loved the coffee here ! It was such a great place to study. But depending on where you sit it would be a great place for socialising with friends or families. All the staff were lovely and Francesca and Alice were so nice when serving me. Great place.

The General Store is a great place for a coffee and cake in central Winchester. They have nice outdoor seating so you can sit and watch the world go by. They sell a great range of cakes and pastries produced by great local bakers too.

Small and cosy cafe with one of the best coffees I've had in a long time. Cakes are also great. I really recommend it to anyone who really loves a properly done coffee. 😁🥰

Everything was so tasty. Especially the breakfast with dried tomatoes and olive oil.

Ended up here by chance for a coffee. This orange cake caught my eye, made with polenta. One of the best cakes I’ve ever had! Get there and try one! Oh, and it’s Gluten Free!

Wonderful food!
They have a great selection of baked goods, including brownies, pastries and breads. We decided to have lunch here and it didn’t disappoint. Pesto with peppers and tomatoes on crunchy, seeded sourdough. I decided to opt for a sweet option too - peanut butter stuffed cookies and again, so good! We will definitely come back again when we’re in the area.

First of all - LOVE that it's open early!
Stopped off for a flat white and also grabbed a bran muffin.
Both delicious. Lovely place to sit outside in the morning with the dog

By luck we stopped for coffee and ended up with a great slice of carrot cake. Not only was everyone super friendly, but, after experiencing the price of coffee in the UK, we found a place where the coffee was good and it didn’t cost an arm and a leg. Wished we had stopped there for lunch rather than a less friendly and more expensive place down the street.

Lovely, accommodating staff as well as top quality produce from the General Store on Saturday. They moved a table outside for us so we could sit in the sun when all the other tables were taken. They kindly allowed my friend to taste all 3 rosé wines before deciding which she wanted.

The biggest, fattest olives I've ever seen, and a lovely cup of earl grey tea!

1. Cream Cheese Cinnamon Bun - @generalstore_winchester

We took this to go and warmed it up at home and it was absolutely DIVINE so much frosting and cinnamon was drizzling through the soft dough 🤤 this was our favourite bun out of the 3 and definitely high on our global ranking at @thefoodiestraveldiary

I'm not big on coffee, but this was the first coffee that I didn't find bitter. Chill atmosphere, would recommend!

Visited for the first time two weeks ago with some friends, actually didn't know this place existed. Had a really quite lovely latté and I never thought I would need to pay more than £2-2.50 for a pastry but this giant almond croissant was a meal in itself and delicious! One of many places that serves coffee in Winchester but I'll definitely be back again. Not a huge place so doesn't take much to be at capacity if you want to sit in.

Lovely little store, especially now they have added more indoor seating. Simple approach to great coffee, with pricing for reg, large, with or without milk and that's it....why can't everyone do that?! Plus, no charge for milk alternatives. My favourite coffee shop in Winchester by far.

Really cool little coffee shop/store. The"boozy coffee" was our choice at 1230pm aha! Very nice, a little pricey but it did have shots in, other drinks were priced as expected. Cakes and sandwiches looked nice, but we didn't eat. They also sell wine and liqueur, alongside random organic foods and different kinds of IPA beer and refillable milk! Cute spot. Staff were lovely also - very enthusiastic. The name confused me a bit - but we move on.
