The Old Boatyard Restaurant

Recently came here for my 30th birthday meal with my family. The food is absolutely stand out - I had local mussels to start, then sea bass, most of my family had steak, and not a tiny bit was left! Everyone delighted in trying bits of each others food. Perfect. It seems to be a family business, and the staff could not have been more pleasant, chatty, and knowledgeable - suggesting excellent wine pairings for the steak and engaging with our conversation. We came back the next night for drinks looking over the sea on their veranda. Could not recommend more.

We took our mum here for Mother's Day and the place was packed, great ambience from the second we entered. The staff were polite, attentive, quick to act and just lovely - offering us alternatives if something was sold out and even offering to move us to a different table when one became available as ours wasn't in a great place. There is a great menu with something for everyone (one of us is vegetarian and another doesn't eat fish). When the food arrived, it looked great, it was hot and it was absolutely delicious, there were 4 empty plates by the time we were finished. Cannot recommend this place enough! It was my first time here but it wont be my last, the best meal you will find in the area. Thanks to all the staff who made it such a lovely evening!

We recently dined at this harbor restaurant and had an exceptional experience. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. Despite the restaurant being busy, we were seated promptly.

Now, onto the food – the pasta was truly outstanding. The flavors were exquisite, and it's evident that the kitchen takes great pride in their culinary creations.

We highly recommend this restaurant for its warm atmosphere, delectable cuisine, and efficient service. A delightful dining choice by the harbor.

Had a lovely lunch on Friday...we sat outside and enjoyed the view while eating..I had the best hamburger I've had ever along with a salad and chips...my friend had a lime chicken ciabatta and both were very tasty...the waitress was polite, helpful, and friendly....atmosphere was quiet yet a very busy restaurant inside and outside. Restaurant was chic and rustic...Will tell my friends to go and try it for themselves . We'll done keep up the work...

I was really impressed with everything in the restaurant, but especially the Arbroath Smokie Chowder… Oh my god! The service and atmosphere were excellent as well. We visited there in September and left with great memories!

This was our second visit for breakfast. The Old Boatyard is situated on the seafront, so the views are lovely. The food was delicious, the Arbroath Smokles, obviously a must. The staff were very attentive. Definitely worth a visit, but check opening times, though. We arrived a bit early.

Visited with my wife, children and grandchildren. The staff were really amazing, they made us so welcome and were brilliant with our very young grandchildren. The food was beautiful, as was the wine. Highly recommended

Very nice meal at a good price for the excellent quality. Party of five and all enjoyed it. Nice atmosphere and great friendly staff who are very enthusiastic. Most had fish but I had a steak and very nicely cooked it was, with crispy onion rings and hot pepper sauce. Delicious.

OMG!!!!! It's a pleasure to have been there! The view is amazing, the staff is very friendly and approachable, the facilities are lovely, the food is really delicious but the lobster! OMG!!! THE LOBSTER! SOOOO gorgeous, delicious, fabulous lobster! Although I liked everything I tried, I wish I had discovered the lobster from the start, I would have only had lobster! I can't wait to go back!

Went for our usual Wednesday bite to eat and a bottle of wine.

Fantastic staff - waitress was so kind and helpful to us - we need to use toilet in visitors centre ( where restaurant is) even though we weren't customers at that point. So we decided to come back for meal just cos of staff. Boy how happy I was when I saw their menu 😍gluten free options+crab soup, Thai soup+ delicious menu for kids everyone will find something for themselves. Prices good, quality FRESH DELICIOUS, PORTIONS MASSIVE even for kids. "I will be back" for sure

Best smoked fish ever.....

A night to remember and a Lobster Thermador to die for.
The Staff and service were so warm and friendly. Definitely deserves another visit when you've being treated so well.

My son and his family visiting from Australia wanted to try Arbroath Smokies. They loved them. Everything about our visit was perfection. Our server, a lass from Liverpool took great care if us. Thanks to everyone at the Old Boatyard. We will be back on their next visit to Scotland

Wonderful food and service

My Husband and I had a really fantastic meal the staff are wonderful and so welcoming I've had the best birthday treat I've ever had massive complements to the chef

It’s definitely a great place for meals. It was our first time to Arbroath, also, my first date with my lovely lady. After a walking along the cliffs, it’s really nice to have such a great restaurant for food. Love it!

We went with family who were staying in Scotland on holiday.
Everyone enjoyed it and said they would def go again. We only booked that day and were glad we did.
Approx £40 each and it was worth it

Amazing and fresh seafood! Nice view at the outdoor sitting! We were on a road trip and gave the place a try! Will definitely come back to visit. The lobster is really fresh and affordable too 🦞

Very good food and service. Nice harbour and ocean views. 3 ate for roughly £80. Entrees were around £15-30+. Would definitely go again for special nights out.
