The Seagate

We booked a table of 6 and a dog. It was the best decision. The menus were great and even Ralph the dog had his own little menu. The friendly staff were so attentive. The food was scrumptious and good portions.
Definitely coming back when we are around the area and definitely a must if you are visiting.

Great place to stay, eat & drink. Tony and his team always make you feel really welcome. Food is amazing and the bar has a great atmosphere. Best place to stay if you're visiting Appledore (in my opinion) as location is perfect, the bus stops outside and the ice cream van is opposite!

There's a difference between pubs that allow dogs and dog friendly pubs. The Seagate is the latter. Superb service, excellent food and brilliantly friendly staff.

We came in waiting for our bus, was made to feel welcomed. Peter and Jason FOH staff were fantastic. Nothing was a problem. They made the best looking hot chocolates I have seen in a long long time. My 2 children enjoyed their drinks and pastries. My wife and I enjoyed our drinks. Nice selection, very welcoming atmosphere. Thank you again, was lovely

We popped in for lunch with our elderly mother-in-law and our not so elderly dog.
Staff delightful and helpful.
Kids menu provided for MIL and this was perfect size portion for her and she really enjoyed her fish and chips.
We had different options from menu and both really enjoyed. They also do a dog menu ( not tried by dog!)
Very pleasant bathrooms!
Beer good, pleasant bar area, and a really good lunch.
Close to main carpark.
Will return.

Superb food. Crab rarebit starter was lovely. We then shared an Ultimate Roast dinner. Which arrives on a huge wooden board. The meats were cooked perfectly. Roast beef, Chicken, and the Belly Pork was the best I’ve ever had.
Staff service was brilliant. And we, as well as our dogs, were made to feel welcome. All were friendly too.
Highly recommended.

Can't comment on the food as only came in for drinks. Gorgeous pub in Appledore we came here most days during our week long break. Good selection of beers, craft ales, ciders, and gin 🍺 couldn't fault the staff who was all quick and welcoming. Nice to listen to the band on Mondays and the chippy round the corner is top notch as is the pizza shop down the road 😋

Stopped off here while visiting family. We had a lovely lunch, good service. The food and drinks arrived promptly. The four of us all ordered different items, but all arrived at the same time. Well done everyone!

A very homely old, English styled restaurant, love the decor! Amazing service from Michelle, she was so friendly and helped us any way she could. Loved the food we had a bunch of the sides to form a sort of tapas meal. Especially enjoyed the scampi :)))

We ate at the Seagate on Easter Sunday. Although the bar & restaurant was very busy, the service and the food was fabulous! My Son said it’s the best Cheeseburger he’s ever had! We will definitely dine again before our holiday ends. We’ve been back a couple of times for just a drink as it’s a lovely place to be with excellent service & a friendly atmosphere. Highly Recomnend!

Fantastic visit with my dad this morning. Weather was miserable but was greeted with a warm and friendly welcome from the front of house. Beth was very kind and seated me by the fire with a lovely freshly made coffee. Would highly recommend. I also had the eggs Benedict which has to be one of the best I have had in the area. A******

We stopped off for lunch on the way to our holiday home on Friday 16th September. The burger and fish and chips were amazing. The pub is lovely and dog friendly and new landlords gave everyone a great welcome. We came down last year and really enjoyed the pub and glad we came back again this time on the way to our holiday! Good luck and we will be back again

Fantastic evening here today! Really dog friendly, food was delicious and Team were great. Food took a little longer than usual but worth the wait!!

Visited for Mothers Day with my family. The Welcome was amazing and the whole Team came to greet us and make us feel welcome from the minute we walked through the door. The food and service were first class. The staff were very attentive and made our visit the special occasion it was. 10/10 TEAM SEAGATE. Special mention to Michelle who always remembers the kids names and makes a fuss of them. Nice touch.

Great location with views across the river. Staff were very friendly in this bright, cheerful and spotlessly clean pub.
The food was plentiful and reasonably priced.

Lovely stay for my hubby's birthday. Service was great, lovely room, and great food. We also took our dog and she was also spoilt. Will definitely return if we are in the area. Highly recommend.

It's a really friendly pub often have breakfast there on a Sunday morning with my sister and her family infact I get so comfy I could stay all day well worth a visit .

Our family (7 adults and three children) had Sunday lunch at The Seagate today. The meal was superb, masses of extra gravy, huge Yorkshire puds, loads of veg and beautifully cooked roast. The service was friendly, delightful, quick and efficient, the children were provided with colouring pencils, books and toys to keep them amused and we left feeling extremely happy and very content. Thank you!😊

What can I say....absolutely lovely evening at The Seagate. We enjoyed the Valentine set menu, the selection of food was amazing, our meal looked beautiful too, and was such great value for money. The staff were warm and welcoming. The pub looks very chic too, the interior design is gorgeous ! Can't wait to come back ! Thank you again xxx it was a real treat.
