The Seagate (Hotel)

A beautifully located hotel, with excellent and friendly service and staff. Great food, wonderful atmosphere and an amazing room.
I upgraded to the sea view rooms and can't recommend highly enough. The views and luxury in the rooms and throughout the hotel is great.
Appledore as a town is beautiful, quaint and very enjoyable. We will definitely be returning again and will stay and eat at the Seagate. Highly recommended

Last minute stay whilst in the area after a recommendation. Lovely place to stay. A warm welcome from all the staff and management. An excellent supper in the bar with a great range of beers and wines. My room was clean, well equipped with an excellent view and strong WiFi. Just book it.

Really pleasantly surprised at how nice our room was clean comfortable would definitely recommend. Great staff felt very well cared for good beer and food selection. Apple door is lovely village well worth a visit.

Thank you to Michelle for going over and above to find us a table on a busy Mothering Sunday lunch time. Giant portion sizes and really good choices for ‘mini meals’ for kids. Lovely atmosphere and polite staff who kept checking in to make sure everything was ok. Really impressed and definitely recommend!

We had a fantastic stay. Every member of the team was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and the bar was well stocked. The room was clean, very comfortable and had wonderful views. All the rooms are dog friendly so we’ll be back for sure with our hounds.

I've stayed here many times over the years, under various ownership, but he Seagate is now, in my opinion the best it has ever been. The front of house staff are friendly and very helpful, nothing is too much trouble for anyone. The breakfast was excellent and good value, and supper was equally good. My room was spacious, (i chose to upgrade from a single.and it had a bath as well as a shower - very welcome as I was on a walking holiday.
As a single traveller it's important to feel welcome rather than being treated as an oddity and shoved in a corner, and the staff certainly didn't do that. They are all very hardworking and my room.was expertly cleaned by Joe and Georgia.

My husband and I stayed here in December 2023 for a couple nights during our honeymoon trip and it was delightful! The staff was friendly, accommodating, and helpful. The room was spacious, clean, and came with a great view. We had wonderful meals and service at the restaurant including dinner on day 1, dessert on day 2 and breakfast on day 3 before we departed. Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again!

Been for a drink and dinner before this was the first time we stayed for the night. All the usual fabulous things great atmosphere, friendly staff, lovely wine and roaring fire. The stop over didn’t disappoint we had a fabulous room (5) great decor, shower and super comfy bed. We’ll be back. Thank you 🤗

Had a gorgeous meal here on 3 separate occasions over the period of time I was in Appledore. The service was fantastic, the staff were so accommodating and Michelle worked with us to book for a large group, which she was able to deliver to the same high standard - food was stunning, the whole group enjoyed their meal and the ambiance of the place - highly recommend the Seagate.

Just returned from a short break. Booked hotel after seeing pictures of the view on line and wasn't disappointed. Very friendly staff very happy to help , gentleman on duty Tuesday evening Wednesday morning was a gem ( the blood orange gin was amazing) . Loved it so much have already booked again for next year

Went here for Sunday lunch. Really dog friendly throughout, lovely staff, gave us water for the dog and generally fussed him each time they were at the table. Food was great. We were slightly late leaving the table and nobody rushed us. Really great place, thank you all for the great food, atmosphere, and being so accommodating to dogs!

Everything about our stay was perfect. But The Seagate just made it all better. The food was amazing, and so was the service.
Especially the staff - Michelle and everyone there are just so accommodating. Especially with our little Pup Bruce. We can’t thank you all enough. We’ll be seeing you all again very soon. :)

Wonderfully inviting pub, beautifully decorated -- it was so lovely to see a Sipsmith urn at the bar and a beautiful hanging Christmas wreath. The bar staff were all really lovely and I very much enjoyed my Lemon Drizzle G&T. We were a walk-in party of five, everyone very much enjoyed our meals -- fab menu. Will certainly visit again when next in the area!

We live in Appledore and feel very lucky to have this as our local pub. It is always warm and welcoming with lovely fires in the winter. A great selection of drinks and the food is lovely. The Sunday night pub quiz is a firm favourite for us. A shout out to Ella who served us lunch last week and to Jamie who provided the pints last night at the RNLI quiz. Thank you Seagate for being a fab place.

Wow, simply amazing. From the minute of walking through the door The Seagate was amazing. All the team were so helpful and friendly, room was great and food was delicious. It was an absolute pleasure to stay here and looking forward to my next visit.

What a lovely place to stay and eat. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The rooms are comfortable, clean and cosy. We had dinner and breakfast, as vegan it can be hard to find a decent breakfast but we absolutely loved our breakfast. Highly recommended and the owners clearly enjoy themselves, their passion is clearly shown throughout the establishment. Will stay again.

We had a great meal recently the pub has a lovely atmosphere. Great service by Tom and Jamie even though the pub was very busy. Food was really nice and well presented by Chloe Kirsty Lucy's and Jamie well done to all the staff will definitely be returning

Recently visited last weekend (9th), we had the ham and Leek pie and the steak. Steak was exactly how I asked for it and the pie was amazing (from the other half!) compliments to whichever chef was on shift, i believe i heard the name Rich mentioned. Table service was great, quick service and reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

We were down for the weekend and went in for an evening meal. Great atmosphere, great food and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. Jamie the waiter that served us was just the best and nothing was to much trouble. Would highly recommend. Thank you very much for a great evening. P. S sausage and mash is a winner 🥰
