Ye Olde Anchor Inn

Stopped off at this pub after buying a car in Worcester and what a delightful find. The location was perfect, staff and atmosphere were excellent. The double burger was really nice as were the piping hot chips. Even got some excellent South African holiday advice from James.

Was lucky enough to have Sunday Lunch here. Staff very friendly and helpful. Really nice welcome on arriving. We had the roast lamb and roast topside of beef. Both cooked beautifully, nice selection of vegetables and potatoes. Yorkshire pudding to die for. Managed a desert between us. Really nice atmosphere. 😀

We went to the Sunshine festival weekender and spent most of the weekend in the Anchor. Good selection of beers and awesome food very reasonably priced too!! The barman James is such a character that he will have you laughing all day. The Sunday dinner is well worth another drive down the M5 for.

I'm based in Glastonbury and my brother is in Derby so we're always on the lookout for a halfway point to meet up. Upton upon Severn ticked the box! Being vegan, I thought I may struggle to find something in a small place but their menu is fantastic! Plenty of vegan options but also loads of choices for everyone including my nephews who especially loved the desserts! The pub had a lovely atmosphere and we had a memorable welcome, greeted as if we were close friends! Highly recommended and we'll definitely return!

We met our widespread Family for a Sunday Lunch at Ye Olde Anchor Inn in late February 2024, with our New Puppy in company. James and his fantastic Team made us all feel welcome before we even stepped through the door; offering our pup a bowl of water (much needed after a 50 minute drive down from the West Midlands) and a treat! Once inside and seated, James' Team looked after us impeccably. The Food we ordered (We had a Roast Dinner and Gammon and some Deserts) was not only timely and of a high quality but, also more than reasonably priced. We would thoroughly recommend a visit to the Ye Olde Anchor Inn if you are passing through Upton upon Severn!! Alex, Janette and Archie (the puppy). 👌👏🐶👍

Very warm and welcoming. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The Xmas decor is beautiful. The vegan meal I had, bangers and mash, was delicious. 10 out of 10 from me. I'll definitely go again.

Great food , drink and atmosphere. If you are in Upton upon Severn you must stop by and see for yourself. The scotch eggs are most definitely a “substantial meal” and worth a try.

We called in for lunch whist staying in the area. We were so impressed we came back for an evening meal. The staff are so friendly and very attentive and accommodating. The food was delicious and there is plenty to choose from on this menu. Highly recommend

First class, proper pub. Well kept beer, really good food and an almost overwhelming welcome from James. We will definitely be back.

We were a party of seven and we were given a table through the back in a very cosy room, separate from the bar.

Came to upton to retrace my partners family history, been in here before but wasn't serving food at that time. We got here at 5pm (serve food at 6pm) had a scotch egg to tied us over till then ( it was absolutely stunning) for starters we had the garlic mushrooms and chicken wings in the sweet and sticky sauce, OMG both dishes were gorgeous. For mains I had the pork belly and he had the sausage and mash, my dish was so mouth watering I didn't want it to end. Both our dishes came on a separate plates with shared veggies and even the veggies had wonderful flavour. I was so shocked such a small place could push out dishes of that quality, would highly recommend.

This pub is very special. I was there with my daughter a few days ago. Food is delicious, staff are very welcoming and what to say about the pub itself, outstanding! Thank you all ❤

Already put on trip advisor that this place was perfect. A landlord that cares and shows interest in his customers. Staff were brilliant. Food was fantastic. Lovely pub. Wood fire, food, drinks. Perfection.

Went in for a pint of Guinness, which incidentally was prepared brilliantly and really hit the spot!

I was lucky enough to meet Jack, the bartender, as I was walking by the pub! Great food, excellent service, just a friendly, neighborhood place.

Had a lovely lunch time birthday meal with some friends, the waitress was exceptional, made very welcome and very helpful. And dog friendly.

Fabulous little place, lovely homemade food, great choice of beers, log fire and super friendly staff. Lovely homemade soup for lunch so going back again for dinner this evening. 😀
