Denstone Hall Café

My first visit following a glowing recommendation from a friend. Certainly ticked all our boxes. We decided to share one of their Denstone Burgers, which proved to be an excellent choice. Lovely crisp chips and the burger was simply mouth-watering. Not sure if it's normally waitress service, but they were really busy as we're smack in holiday season and we were asked to go up to the main desk to order. That was fine, but when we gave in to the lure of one of the cakes I found myself at the back of a long queue.
Full marks to Naomi who saw me, asked what I wanted and said to sit back down and she'd get it ordered. Now that's what I call service.
Oh, and the lemon méringue that we shared tasted every bit as good as it looked.

Dine in and picked an outdoor table, so relaxing. The food came 55mins after placing the order and payment 🫠🫠🥹

Despite advertising itself as a cafe, there is NO table service instead you have to queue a’ la greasy spoon!
We were presented with a menu that had been recently used as teething toy! However ironically this was one of the better ones,
The staff whilst being pleasant & friendly definitely lack a sense of urgency, leaving a vacated table nearly 15 minutes before even starting to clearing it & after that not bothering to sweep the obvious detritus left underneath. All in all it lacks any character or creativity in the decor but clearly has a target demographic it suits well.
