ALDI

I was at this store yesterday and I was so impressed. In front of me at the tills were a couple of ladies with learning difficulties with their carer helping them pay for their items.I watched how the cashier who I believe was called Bethany was just so lovely to them. In my opinion she went above and beyond to make them feel comfortable while still being so efficient. She was patient, kind and and even made them laugh. She put these (rather nervous) women at ease and it was just so so lovely to see. She was so efficient and friendly and I was just so impressed with her as she managed to do this while still keeping the line moving so we barely waited to be served. Good customer service. Lovely polite security guard as well. Clean store. Never had an issue here. Really have been impressed here recently.

It was busy, but it's Christmas so I won't hold it against them. And Appeteasers are in stock and nobody can argue with that 😁

Nice place and affordable prices for groceries and other necessities.

One of the better ALDI stores;
Modern, clean and well stocked.
Can get a tad busy - but then you don’t go to ALDI for a calm shopping experience.
They now have self checkouts too - in case you don’t want to do speed packing!

The staff are helpful and welcoming. There was a wide choice of foods and specials of the week. Free car parking with ample spaces

They might not have the wide selection of a big supermarket, but what they do have is good value for money

Getting more attached to Aldi as my go to store. Click and Collect is the best I've experienced well packaged nicely picked with consideration for sell buy dates and manky veg. Top Draw from the Borehamwood C&C Staff.

Retail Store which is about 10 mins walk from the Train station in Welwyn Garden City and less than 4 mins walk from the Royal mail Depot. Parking on site is free for 1 hour 30 mins max. Neat store and very awesome customer service. It would be nice if they can have self check out tills rather for faster checkouts for few item shoppers.

Great prices compared to the bigger supermarkets but don't always have the same products

A pleasure to shop here. Masses of free 90 minute parking. Clean and bright. All the basics plus a few luxuries too. Easily do 95% of our weekly shop here. Particularly good meat, fish and cheese range. Now with click-&-collect. Significantly cheaper than any other High Street Supermarket - same quality and well manned checkouts. Helpful staff. Aisles very well laid out and logical.

The very best time to go is mid week. Plenty of restocked fresh food. Also minimum queuing for browsing the specials and checkouts. So avoid the worst of the traffic by shopping mid week 10:00 thru 15:00. ⏰

Interestingly, as well as the essentials, Aldi randomly stock real bargain specials, such as Wagyu rump steaks. Which not only taste fantastic but freeze well too. Purely random I must add - but an unexpected bonus to brighten the day. 😋

The WGC Aldi is 3 minutes walk from the town centre/station with easy car access too. Hugely popular and rightly so. 👌🏽

Despite rising costs and a few shortages Aldi do really well to offer a massive range and keenest prices. Fresh and frozen always well worth a browse. In common with most other high street supermarkets some shelves are empty or sparse by mid afternoon. Whether this is actual shortages or poor shelf replenishment I can't say. But I can say it's best to shop before lunch - no sparse shelves then. 🧐

Saturdays & Sundays are getting too popular. All lanes and self checkouts queued up. Probably because Tesco is price matching Aldi on just a handful of items. But not the 10,000 other items that Aldi prices well below Tesco. 😂

Saturday afternoons are the worst time to shop. Many popular items emptied (milk, steaks, etc.) and only 2 or 3 checkouts open. So avoid then if possible. 🤔

Unlike most discount shops (Lidl stores for instance) this Aldi is clean and bright. Self checkout recently introduced. Simple to use. 😜

That said, the busy Stevenage branch is old and dim. So thumbs up to Welwyn Garden! 👍

Love the new self checkout tills, makes the Aldi experience more appealing as no need to join long queues. Bought one of their too good to go boxes and it was excellent value for money.

I go to this supermarket every week. The staff are really nice and friendly, helpful etc . Well stocked and even though I have got one on my door step prefer to go to Welwyn Garden City to do my shopping.

Love the selection of different foods. The only downside is that the service is very slow. Queues can be so long even if you want just one item.

The serve is a lot better in and out within 10 minutes

Love Aldi! So much more affordable than most supermarkets. In bigger branches they even have a middle aisle of suprise items per week just like Lidl. This specific branch in Welwyn Garden is quite big and so far I've never had issues with any item being scanned twice or erroneously at the till unlike Lidl. Can't say anything negative as far as my customer experience goes.
