Absolutely loved it, lovely warm and home style inviting atmosphere.
Could not manage eating a pudding as well as I was so stuffed.
My meal was so yummy 😋 best Dauphinoise potatoes I've ever eaten!
We are planning to come back again soon.
The one star left for atmosphere was not the restaurants fault but the nearby children running around gave us a headache at the beginning.

Had the tastiest roast ever today! Cosy atmosphere. Trio roast, cauliflower cheese, pigs in blankets. The works! Fabulous atmosphere & service from Ellie & all the staff! Will be back very soon. Yummy! Thank you

Lovely 3 course meal for Valentines Day, the food was very tasty and the waiter even helped to carry my flowers to the table. We also enjoyed the musician who sounded great!

Everything about this place was great! When I came in I got greeted by friendly staff who were extremely helpful throughout the night. Along with the service, the food did not disappoint. I had the steak sandwich with chunky chips and it was amazing!

I would highly recommend.

Beautiful charming turn of the century pub with loads of atmosphere. Very cosy setting with real oak beams and lounge furniture to make your visit a comfortable one.

Cozy fire place, beautiful beer garden quality food, free parking, the staff are amazing.
If you like country walks then this is the perfect place to stop off for lunch, lovely countryside walks all around this area.
Will definitely return!

Beautiful pub and delicious food! Definitely will be coming back again!!!

Friendly and attentive service with plenty of space between tables. The four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals; Duo of lamb, burger, lasagna and wood fired pizza. The chunky chips were very good and the deserts were delicious. Would definitely eat here again.

We had a celebration group booking for St Albans Rambler, a local walking club. Everybody agreed that The Crooked Chimney had given us a fantastic evening. From start to finish the whole process was very efficient, and the communication from the restaurant was excellent. Despite being a large group, we were allocated a table in a cosy annexe immediately off the main restaurant; just far enough away to be private, but close enough to feel part of the main restaurant. We were also delighted with the wide choice of menu and the high quality of the food, all of which drew very favourable comments. We would especially like to thank Louise for being such a kind, thoughtful and efficient hostess throughout the evening; we were extremely well looked after. Thank you.

I had been on an errand with a Friend and his wife and we had passed the Crooked Chimney and had jokingly commentted, that it would have been a nice stop for a Sunday Lunch if we hadn't been passed Lunchtime already! On the way back from our successful endeavours we agreed that we should stop for a reward drink, and to take in the perceived picturesque ambiance, so we turned around and had our drink and took in, said Perceived ambiance. So it turned out that it was, as picturesque on the inside with a friendly service to match the warm atmosphere and interiors. So we enjoyed our drink, I enjoyed my portion of chunky chips and will certainly return for the Sunday Lunch!

The meal was good except my eggs were hard I had gammon and chips. Also the table was a bit small. But overall it was nice and so was our server

Great pub with excellent food and a wide range of dishes we had a job deciding what to order. Service was a little slow, but it was very busy and during the Christmas period, so understandably so. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Took my partner for her birthday, food was lovely staff were attentive and helpful. This is a lovely quaint restaurant suitable for a family meal out or that romantic meal out. Will definitely be back again.

The best fish & chips I've had in the south! Timothy Taylors Landlord on draught, good veggie options, friendly staff, dog friendly and a very reasonable bill. Recommended.

Second visit to this pub for a meal and drinks. Same lovely atmosphere. Thanks to Jordan and Ned for great service with a smile. Very warm and friendly. We will be back!

You CANNOT miss it!!
The pub itself is nice and cosy (specially now with the fireplace), food is excellent, but the service is simply amazing. Laura is such a professional!! She's really good and also very kind and attentive, the rest of the staff are also great, but we had contact with her.
Btw, it has a big parking, which is also good.

Me and the mrs came to the crooked for a small bite to eat but jay and Ollie and two very convincing salesmen. They told us about chef wills specialty dish: the buttermilk chicken burger and we smashed two each. Bosh !!
