Absolutely beautiful meal for my birthday 🎂 the lovely young lady called Danielle was fabulous..nothing was to much,she answered every question we asked about the menu,she was kind attentive and a glowing warm smile ! Absolute credit to the Tame otter and team. Major complements to the chef..amazing food. The Calamari and king prawns were spot on, the best we've ever had !! Everything is all freshly cooked down to the home made beef and red wine pie to the smoked haddock and baby spinach fish cakes! Everything in the 3 courses we each had were fantastic 👏 the honeypot desert was to die for 🤤 Such a fabulous place to go and to eat.. we certainly will be back again 🥰 highly recommend 👌 5*

Superb for meals, Sunday lunch trio is excellent, never enough gravy though so I always ask for another jug of gravy, not charged for it. Very nice meal.

Occasionally, table service is restricted to main restaurant, and occasionally excludes extention so you have to order at bar, which can get busy on sunny days and a little frustrating as you want to order your food. Best decide before you get there on sunny days and order on entry.

Garden is lovely, with canal and mooring. Hence popularity.

We go regularly, and recommend highly.

After reading others reviews myself and my partner were quite apprehensive as we’re fussy eaters and the atmosphere has to be right. From walking in with no booking and being seated quickly with drinks served and food ordered. We ordered the lovely sounding home-made chicken pies with onion mash and our expectations were greatly exceeded by the food and the customer service. Thank you so much, we’ll certainly be returning soon to try the other pie of the day!

Visited The Tame Otter with a group of friends, for lunch & a catch up!

We had a lovely table, atmosphere was great, food amazing and staff members were very attentive. Special mention to Ros who served us. Her work ethic was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble!

I had fish finger sandwich on a rustic Cob ( delicious )and a decaf latte with oat milk.

After reading some reviews, we were slightly concerned. However, our experience was brilliant!
Great service, no waiting for food order, and all the food we ordered was beautiful.
Spicy cauliflower soup, scallops and prawns as starters. Gammon and Pie of the day mains and Vanilla creme brulee and sticky toffee pudding. All served piping hot!
Will definitely be back.

Recently moved to the area and have been in here twice. It is a wonderful place with excellent, friendly staff and simply stunning food that is freshly prepared, served well and guarantees clean plates (and I'm a fan of meals in plates over roof slates or shovels!!). All the staff are fantastic; polite, friendly, professional and attentive without being intrusive (Roz is a particular family fave).

Tables are bookable online or on the phone with lots of options of seating and numbers or simply to pop in for the bar. If you go well, you'll be next to an open fire. Huge garden for summer seating right next to the Coventry canal.

Lots of options from the menu to suit all tastes and the dishes are all amazing. We've been through a good chunk of the menu now and nothing has disappointed. The signature burger and the lamb rack were particular favourites!

I can only say that if you're passing, don't. Pull into the spacious car park or lock the bike up at the door and get in there!

Had the beef Sunday lunch at the Tame Otter yesterday, it was delicious! The food arrived in good time, a good amount of gravy and roasties too (places usually are a bit mean on those portions). All of the staff I interacted with were friendly and polite. Highly recommend this establishment!

Booked a table for 1.30 what a good job we did the place was packed. We were shown to our table then the patient Ros arrived to take our drinks order they took a little time but this didn’t matter as we were chatting. Ros then took our food order, now this did take a long time but the calm unflappable Ros, who found time to get a cushion for our short friend, seemed to be the only one serving. What an asset you have in Ros, don’t wear her out!
The food when it did arrive was very good and still hot.

Great venue, brilliant attentive and polite service. Excellent range of beers and wines.

Always an enjoyable visit with great food and atmosphere. Arrived for our prebooked table and was shown within a minute or two of arriving. Waitress Ros was excellent, allowed us to view the drinks menu before asking us what we would like. Food came out quickly and was delicious. We also tried deserts this time which was lovely.

Friendly and helpful staff. We were three and were given a suitable table. The menu was not extensive but quite wide ranging. We had the fishcakes and the seabass. Fishcakes were especially good- large portions and full of flavour. We only had soft drinks- but the lime& soda was well mixed and had plenty of lime. We had the "Black Forest Flower Pot" for desert. WOW!!! Large portion, very tasty and thoroughly entertaining! Just brilliant. Our waitress was Ros. She was friendly helpful and didn't rush us even though the restaurant was quite busy. She chatted to us about the food, had good knowledge and was very helpful without being intrusive.

We had a great meal and would definitely visit again.

Wonderful pub, well-located for nearby walks. Super dog-friendly with blankets, bowls and treats. The Sunday menu features classic roasts (included a great veggie option) as well as a separate menu of non-roast mains. Everything was beautifully presented and service prompt and friendly. Well worth a visit!

Me and my wife have been coming hear for a while now..and I must say..we love it..the service is very good. The food also is very good..and the staff make you feel very welcome..very polite and professional..big shout to Danielle and Tom.. thanks again

Just had a lovely festive meal with the family, 6 of us. Food was very good and the service was excellent. We pre-booked a specific table, no waiting for a table to come free, definitely the way to go at this busy time of year.
Big thank you to the on duty managers Amber and David for making our party so welcome. Also Shelley and Samantha, thank you ladies for your professional, polite and courteous table service. Nice to find somewhere local where all the staff are so friendly.

First class meal. Lovely food and atmosphere. Tom the manager was very welcoming and clearly runs an excellent business. Very good service too, and we were well looked after by Dani.

A small pub by the side of the Hopwas canal. Large outside area with loads of covered tables (which is great if it starts to rain) is available.
The food was excellent and served promptly by friendly staff.
Toilets are wheelchair accessible inside the pub building.
Grab some food and a drink here next time you are passing.
This is very dog friendly with a separate menu.
