Came here for an afternoon out with the dog and so glad we did! What a stunning place. The gardens are incredibly maintained and the walks around the lakes are beautiful!
The mansion itself is beautiful inside and very well looked after and all the staff and very knowledgeable about the rooms. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants a day out. There is plenty to do with the dog. We didn't walk the parkland but the space was vast but deer do roam so keeping them on lead is a must.

A beautiful estate with a history of 1000 years! Good café, service, staff and house. Kid friendly with the adventure playground. However, the house is not wheelchair accessible/friendly!

Unfortunately the house was closed for refurbishment. However fantastic views, lots of gardens to walk around. The stables tea room had a great selection of sandwiches, hot food and delicious cakes. Not forgetting the luxury hot chocolate, with whipped cream and marshmallows.

Definitely makes sense to be a National trust member to get access to locations like these and it supports the work they do. I also use my membership to get free parking in National trust car parks throughout the UK

Lovely place to visit. Grounds are great to walk around with a fabulous children's play area. Really nice cafes at Belton serving great food and drinks. Large new car park with plenty of parking.

Had a lovely family day out here in October, it’s a huge estate with plenty of parking and only a few minutes walk to the main entrance.
There’s plenty for the kids to do. There’s a huge adventure playground with a ride on train (small fee), a soft play and various spots with activities to do. There’s a few cafe/restaurants on site as well as an cream parlour.
The grounds are beautiful too and the kiddies and adults all enjoyed strolling around them.
It’s dog friendly too.
Would definitely recommend a day out here, we booked in advance but didn’t really need to but i imagine it gets booked up in the warmer months.

Yet again the National Trust excels itself, with Belton House being an exceptional example of Restoration architecture. It is surrounded by formal gardens, land including a lake and deer park.

To keep you refreshed there are a number of food outlets (one focusing on ice cream).

Car parking on site can be challenging in the winter months when it gets a tad muddy. But I believe this is being improved.

I've also spotted a large child's play area to keep the youngsters entertained.

Plenty of space to find some peace and quiet and enjoy a nice walk.

A great location to visit for any group of people from young couples to old families.

The grounds are beautiful, with fields, wooded areas, play parks for kids, and historic buildings to explore.

The grounds often host events throughout the year, many of which (such as the Christmas lights display) are well worth attending.

If you live nearby, it makes a National Trust membership a worthwhile investment.

We've visited Belton House several times throughout the year and have been lucky enough to see it change through the different seasons. Our most recent visit was at the start of December, just in time to see the House decorated for Christmas and it looks absolutely amazing! The Christmas trees and the decorations in each of the rooms look beautiful, and there are plenty of opportunities to take photos throughout the House. The gardens and parkland as always, are in immaculate condition and are currently set up for the Christmas light trail in the evenings (check the National Trust website for timeslots and booking info). The grounds are pretty extensive so you could easily spend a whole afternoon walking along the different trails. Just be warned the path round the lake can get quite muddy after rainy days so make sure you come well prepared if visiting then.
There is an onsite car park that I know is free for National Trust members, I'm not sure about non-members (check the website for further info). There is also a very lovely gift shop, second hand book shop and a cafe that serves a variety of hot and cold food but you can take a picnic if you so choose instead.
A very lovely way to spend a day out with family.

A really lovely place to visit and walk around the estate and see wildlife like deer as well as walk around the park behind the hall . Nice outdoor cafe for refreshments as well as sitting inside.

Stunning house and beautiful garden. A day trip venue for all ages. Families can have meals at the cafe. Children can play the rope game or at the playground or the mini train. Other options include going for walks at the two lakes. Don't forget about the big bench, greenhouse, maze, and church building.

House was shut due to refurbishment. But the gardens were open. Took 2 hours to walk round. It will probably look even better in the summer when all the flowers are out.

Our family day out at Belton House was absolutely delightful! From the moment we stepped onto the picturesque grounds, we were greeted by the charm of nature and the rich history that enveloped the surroundings. The well-maintained trails provided the perfect backdrop for a leisurely stroll, and the informative guides added an educational touch to our exploration of both in and outside.

The highlight for our children was the interactive exhibits and indoor play area with a free one hour slot. The friendly staff members were not only knowledgeable but also genuinely passionate about sharing the site's treasures with visitors.

We took a break at the on-site café which is held in the stables and as you can see from the photos it was an amazing atmosphere, and the delicious, locally sourced treats, which included a Gluten-free Scone for my fiancée who's a coeliac, were a delightful surprise. The attention to detail in maintaining the authenticity of the historical buildings added to the overall immersive experience.

The National Trust site truly offers something for every member of the family, combining education, adventure, and relaxation seamlessly. It's a testament to preserving our natural and cultural heritage in a way that captivates and connects generations. We left with hearts full of joy

We went to a Christmas event at Belton house which was in the evening. In the daytime we went around the house and it was really nice and had a lovely relaxed atmosphere. One room in particular had cosy sofas and chairs and Christmas reading books for children so their parents could sit and read to them.

In the evening Belton had lots of Christmas lights..see the photos.

The house is spectacular with being trimmed up for Christmas. We also went to the light spectacular it was rather muddy but the displays were brilliant. Enjoyed every minute.

Gone every year now for 3 years. Such good displays. Set to music. Drinks available half way round (Hot choc to mulled wine) and Santa to talk too, easy walking or mobility scooter. Car park good. Even with all the rain over the month in excess of average, it is still in good condition but a little muddy. Dress accordingly when you go.

Belton House is an absolute must-visit when exploring Lincolnshire. This stately home and its vast estate offer a splendid combination of history, architecture, and natural beauty
.
We visited in April and again in October. The House was, for the most, closed but they were doing conservation tours in timed groups. At first we were a little disappointed as we would only get to see part of the house, but as it turned out, it was far better than expected. We learned a great deal on how the NT clean and repair furniture, rugs, curtains and in great detail, the 16,000 or so books in the House.

It's not just about the house though. What sets Belton House apart is its extensive parkland and gardens. The formal gardens are immaculate and provide a stunning backdrop for leisurely walks. The Orangery and the Italian Garden are particularly delightful, offering a sense of tranquility and a chance to appreciate the artistry of garden design.
Whether you're a history buff, a garden enthusiast, or simply seeking a peaceful escape, a visit to Belton House will not disappoint. I can't recommend it enough.
