It is a great destination for a family day out. The playground will keep your kids entertained for hours. The café is near the 'train station' and serves nice bean-to-cup coffee and a decent selection.
And there is the mini train that will get your little ones excited no matter whether they like trains or not.
This time we did not go the house but the weather was way too nice.

Brilliant place to allow your Children to run wild in the safely of a large park.

Really nice playground (the national trusts biggest) with lots of different equipment for different ages. Includes two zip wires, a big climbing frame and slide, baby swings and gravel and water play among others There is also a little train that you can pay to go on which my children love to spot deer from. It has a cafe which tea/coffee, ice creams, cakes and some sandwiches; toilets&baby change are also available.

Lovely little shop located perfectly within the playground, toilets also available, its been one of the best improvements they've made as trying to get from the playground to the toilet block near the house was always a task in itself. Prices are what you would expect at a national trust house. There is also a small bin available.

Great addition to Belton house and grounds. You are given a ticket for 1 hours play in the indoor adventure area for free. If its busy they will given you a time slot when it's next available which might be 30 min to an hour.

The cafe is reasonable and we were given a loyalty card which after so many coffees you get some free. There is a nice little courtyard area that's a bit of a sun trap which was very nice.

Excellent playground. Very well laid out. Very child friendly with many pit stops for snacks and warm drinks and lots of toilets. And a lovely train ride for small children. Excellent.

Lovely big outdoor space with lots of fab slides, climbing apparatus etc. Also a miniature train which runs through the playground, kids love it.
Very handy toilet block with an attached coffee kiosk selling the basics-hot drinks, sandwiches, ice-creams.

Expensive but if you live up to an hour away then worth being a member. Children <16 can easily spend a whole day here. Bring a picnic or get food there. Inside play area if it's wet. Lots of history in the house and you don't see it all with one walk round.

I love the national trust houses and this is one of my favourite! Lovely house and amazing grounds. The children's play area is one of the best national trust play areas.

Very good for young children, excellent selection of swings, slides, climbing/adventure wooden construction buildings, rope walkways and even a miniature railway with ride on open carriages plus a refreshment point with seating.

The coffee shop is a lovely addition to the playground. The fact that the playground is still as popular as ever after 40 years is testament to its original design and ongoing evolution. It was great to see Peter Purves back for the 40th birthday party (he also officially opened the playground back in 1978).

Kids love it here and so do we. It's on our doorstep and just perfect to pop in for an hour or two. Even spend the day in the house and grounds.

Decent coffee. Bring a cup for a discount on your coffee. And a loyalty scheme for other national trust places too.
