We held our fathers funeral reception at Saracens and we couldn't have picked a better place. The venue felt warm, cosy and premium. The food was fresh and tasty but still felt good value. And I can't say enough about the team, all of them were helpful, professional and friendly. Anything we needed, they sorted. Amazing. Big thank you from our family and friends for helping to celebrate my dad. We will definitely be returning again.

Tgis place is amazing ... it gets very busy in the summer but motor homes welcome for overnight stay just go in and have a drink or something to eat ..
Cant say about the rooms but the pub set up and the tables setup was second to none..
All in all fabulous

Great Sunday roast, good selection on the menu if you don't want a roast dinner as well. Also catered for our dog in the bar with his own roast dinner and dog beer. The food quality was excellent and well priced for what we had. Staff were friendly and service was good for a busy Sunday. Will be keen to return and try the standard menu. Dog visitors suggest you book in advance for a bar table when visiting. It's also right next to the canal so you can walk off your over eating after!

Lovely first visit after being recommended. The Fish & Chips were fabulous reminded me of Scarborough harbour yum! And hubby had the Lamb roast dinner with beautiful fresh veggies. Attentive Service, cleanliness, toilets, ambiance and dining area were great. Lovely experience.
Also saw lovely outside area and outside bar for daytime dining was well presented and lovely views.
Overall loved it. Thankyou we will be back 😁

What a lovely hotel the room was small but it was very clean and warm bed very comfortable what can I say about the food it was delicious and the staff were really good we had our breakfasts in bed because of mobility problems for both me and my husband and now we come to the only thing is if you have mobility problems and no family or friends to help you up and down the stairs and steps outside it might not be the place for you we're lucky our family live in the area so we were ok we'll definitely be back I definitely think that if you are looking for somewhere to stay in this are try Saracens head Mrs Lesley Williams

Went for a mid-week meal and was really impressed. Service was excellent, ambience really nice and food was fantastic. They even boxed up a dessert to take away with us. Highly recommend a visit for drinks, bar or restaurant meal.

This pub is set in a beautiful idyllic location. The views are amazing. Plenty of tables outside. The car park isn't too big but they allow extra parking on the field.
The range of food is impressive and tasty. The staff are friendly and helpful too. Even furry friends are allowed. Wheelchair accessible too.

This is a favourite of mine as they always seem to serve a good pie. Not tonight though, as they were still using the Sunday lunch menu: roast beef and Yorkshire pud will always take priority.

The place is a short ten minute drive from central Stafford and is well worth a visit.

During the day, there is a pleasant garden with tables and one can pat the llamas, if they are feeling sociable.

Came here a couple of weeks ago on a canal boat holiday, knew nothing about the place except it was three minutes walk from our mooring. Had the best burgers ever!

Somebody told us this place was cool with campervans parking outside overnight. We called them to double check and indeed they were happy to let us stay there for free. They have a Llama farm behind the pub and we had a sound night sleep only hearing the animals. In the morning we grabbed some tasty breakfast and continued our journey. Lovely stuff and great surroundings. We don't live close by but we wished we did! They have a yearly programme of activities that sound great!

Worth the drive!

This place has the most amazing view in the outdoor seating area.

Staff was very friendly and the food was really good. I had my first Gamon steak with egg. Pretty tasty if you have never had it.

Worth the drive, especially if it’s a pretty day.

Happy Customers here.

We moored up on the canal and paid a visit to see if we could have something to eat on a Sunday lunchtime, not having booked! The team were most helpful and squeezed us in, despite how busy they were!
The food was delicious (Crispy Duck and Goat’s cheese pasta), Plum Porter and Pinot Grigio served correctly and attentive service in lovely surroundings.
Special shout out to Sian, whose service with a smile was excellent!
We will be back!

Lovely location for a campervan overnight and meal. Plenty of space to park and we had the best meal we’ve had in ages. Friendly welcome from staff and gorgeous walks along the canal right next to the pub. Great menu and value for money. They do a fab offer for dinner, bed and breakfast for £130. The rooms look fab and all the staff were friendly and very helpful. We will be back!

We stayed overnight in our campervan, it was free parking. We had a drink the night before which was in my case an excellent porter. Next morning we had breakfast which was really good and very good value for money
