Hobbycraft Farnborough

A lot of Hobbycraft shops are large, but the one in Farnborough is huge. I was very impressed.

Lovely store. Lovely staff. Paula served me today, and she was delightful. She made sure I got everything I came for. As a new watercolour amateur, Paula took interest in my 1st piece of art, which I showed her a picture of on my phone. Paula also explained in plain and simple terms how the hobby craft club card worked.
So I signed up for one.
I am very happy with my purchases.

We were on the last day of a great holiday (which we spent mainly in London and doing various activities) so we decided to have a wee nosey locally.

My closest Hobbycraft at home is many miles away so I rarely visit, but I love it.

This Hobbycraft is a gem of a place filled with enough items to spark even the least creative of minds.
To me it was like Aladdin’s cave.

There are rare to find items and quirky deals like “pick and mix” - a large choice of loose beads of every size and colour that works exactly like the sweets version - pick a tub - then fill it!

They have the shop organised well - devoting an area to each craft - and I found it easy to navigate.

From baking, knitting, papercraft, kids crafts, craft kits, painting, drawing, colouring, dressmaking, jewellery making, tie dyeing, gift wrapping, party supplies and every other craft known to man - they have a bit of everything.

They not only have craft items though, they do have every conceivable types of artists supplies.

I found a gorgeous range of card that was new to me and lovely cellophane bags.

Masses of choice of tags, ribbons and tissue paper were also a hit and everything is of a really high quality.

I believe the shop also do demonstrations, although none were happening during my visit - I did see evidence of it.

I’m disabled and have cognitive impairment - this affects my spacial awareness.
It also affects my eyesight, memory and reading skills.

My only criticism of the shop relates to this.
Luckily, the shop was empty when I visited as there isn’t much space to move around - they have so many items and narrow aisles.

This might affect other disabled customers, especially those in wheelchairs.

I also struggled at times to find prices on or around items which was frustrating.

I’m general though I think this is a fabulous shop well worth a visit to anyone interested in arts or craft.

Lovely people. Went in for a pile of stuff and the hugely helpful folk managed to find the bits and bobs I needed. A treasure trove of a place, with more stuff than my crafty house can hold.

So much stock and a very interesting place, always buy more than I go in there for. Customer service is good too

I had to make a special poster for my sister's party and am don't have much artistic ability! This shop was a revelation with all the amazing stock - a real Aladdins Cave. I explained to one of the very helpful ladies what I was doing and what I was looking for and she was brilliant showing me lots of different ideas and made some great suggestions. She was so enthusiastic about her job and was so helpful. Made shopping there (the Farnborough branch) a really pleasant experience.

Good place for all hobby supplies. Nice range of plastic kits including Airfix and Revell

There's stuff here that makes you wonder what it is all used for! Plenty to choose from

I hand make my own jewellery & key chains so it halos this is local for me. The staff were helpful & friendly. I didn't like the parking area. It was too tight & probably a mare in the busy weekends so beware!

SO many crafting ideas and supplies of evert kind, fantastic shop! Really helpful, professional and friendly staff, too. Aisles are quite narrow for buggies but not too bad. Took my 7yr old - big mistake as he put several things in the basket I wasn't planning on buying! Haha
