Pushchair and wheelchair friendly trails. Suitable for walking, bikes, runners, dogs and horses the trails are very popular and get busy at the weekend.
You can stick to the well marked, paved paths or go off the trails into the marked paths through the trees.
There are several circular routes you can take making it a long or short trip. One side of the trails follows the canal.
Plenty of poo bins, fairly flat with just two steep sections that are short.
Great place for little kids to learn to ride a bike safely.
Several places not far from the paths to use a toilet or grab a drink - The Furnace (Moira), Conkers Cafe (end of the canal at the Moira end), and The Pavilion (end of the canal at Donisthorpe end).
The canal is not currently linked (plans are underway) so it can get a bit stagnant, I wouldn't recommend it for sports like paddle boarding at present.
Really lovely place to visit, have fun

Fabulous walks with great paths, suitable for all abilities including wheelchair users. So many beautiful wild flowers - you'd never guess it used to be a huge colliery (which I still remember!).

Wonderful woodland walks, woods, water and other double yous. Passed people of various heights with many different breeds of dogs. Whoever designed the layout went along the theme of a puzzle within a riddle within a maze, got hopelessly lost, thank Jah we had an overweight Westie with us who led us back to the car park.

Even in the rain it's a great walk, great for dog & a bit of wildlife spotting. Couple of basic cafés along the way.

I regularly walk and exercise in this park. It is a great asset in the local community and one that I will continue to cherish.

Lovely walks around canals and restored woodland. Picturesque. Stop off for tea, hot chocolate or a beer at Donisthorpe Pavilion bar, either newly refurbished inside or outside wood pine theme seating area.

Love this place for a stroll with the dogs. Pretty. More dog bins and rubbish bins required. Easy to navigate and walk round. Access from many sites with parking.
