This is a pub with lots of characters and very well managed. We have been here so many times and we have all enjoyed the drinks and view across the balcony, especially the Sunday roast! Limited parking in front of the pub but there are plenty across the river or opposite Hampton Court Palace,

What a wonderful afternoon at what I consider to be the top 5 pubs of south west London.

Food and service equally amazing, the recommendations are on point and the beer / whiskey selection is delicious.

I’d come this far out in south west London just to eat here again.

Had a perfect table near the fire, toasty warm and the place was busy without being frantic. Food was awesome - had the wild mushroom tortellini and the pate with a lovely selection of white wines by the glass.
Love this place and would love to come back. Staff were super helpful and knowledgeable. Saw the cheese platter at the next table - outstanding.

Lovely afternoon spent at The Mute Swan, opposite Hampton Court Palace. Excellent beer and food choice. Friendly and professional staff. Everything we ordered was on point. We would definitely come again.

Went in exhausted after touring Hampton Court. Had the Battered Cod (fish and chips) and a Pint and it was great. Good sized portion and perfect fish (not greasy). Nice, airy atmosphere and dog friendly. The perfect rest spot. Mostly locals in attendance. Not touristy despite location.

Visited daughter for weekend. Went to this establishment for Sunday lunch. Genuinely the best Sunday roast I have had - had the beef, plus pigs in blankets, followed by the black cherry trifle. My wife had lamb.
So tasty, lovely gravy. Staff good. Lovely atmosphere. All excellent - will go back one day, but sadly live 160 miles away.

We had a delicious Sunday roast in the glorious autumn sunshine. Service was impeccable and food was spot on. The beef was cooked nice and pink and the pork was juicy. The sticky toffee pudding was a great choice to round off the meal. Highly recommend

The staff were absolutely brilliant - extremely professional / friendly / helpful and attentive.

The food is exceptional and always fresh! The truffle parmesan fries are a must have! The only thing that might have been nice was a bit of cream to g with the summer pudding.

The atmosphere is great and despite it being really busy we were well looked after by the staff.

This was my second visit and I will definitely visit again - a strong recommendation!

Really excellent food, service and atmosphere - and not at all stuffy (even with the evidence that they're mid-renovation).
A couple of our party were coeliac and were pleasantly surprised at how well they were catered for. The meat eaters and vegetarians among us were all very happy as well.
Would definitely go back again.

We have been going to this pub weekly for few months, the ambience is very nice and the food and service deserve more the 5 stars!! We bring our daughters (24/16) and they loved the atmosphere and the food as much as we do!

We loved it! We’re really disappointed not to get to the Brassiere next door but this was a blessing. The food was restaurant quality not pub grub. The menu has lots of variety (it was a Sunday and I can’t stand a Roast). We were so happy with our food - I emptied my plate. Evidence below. Love it - recommend it - will be back. The guys who work here are just lovely - immaculate service and the decor is nice. Beautiful area upstairs too.

Set back from the abhorrently busy road, two lanes in each direction almost always at a standstill, there is a sense of calm once you've reached the pub.

We've been coming here for a while and it's always been a solid stop. A decent selection of ales from near and far, you don't even clock the keg selection if all the pumps are in action. I opted for a Saltaire, and then a local Thames Ditton Brewery pint.

Inside it's cosy, there's a log fire in the winter or a breeze in the summer with outdoor seating in front and down the side. Upstairs, a posh little dining area accessible by a winding spiral staircase in the middle of the pub.

The pub building itself dates back hundreds of years (apparently) but there's little information online, even the pub website itself just talks about the fairground, the palace and bushy park over the pub history, so maybe there's not much to shout about.

What I love about this place is the simplicity, and the varied clientele it brings in. Locals still come despite the tourist hotspot opposite, and the everyone is met with some of the best service you'll see in a pub. The consistency here is outstanding, and it seems like everyone genuinely enjoys working here - and by virtue of that, people enjoy drinking here.

This place is easily accessible by Hampton COURT Station (Not the other ones), or if you fancy a walk, you can go from Kingston along the river path all the way to the palace gates, with a big delicious frosty one waiting at the end.

The Mute Swan is a beautiful pub and restaurant! It is two stories tall with lots of seating inside and out. We stopped in for a few drinks after visiting Hampton Court Palace. It is located directly across the street from the Palace. We saw mostly locals enjoying this establishment. It is not a tourist trap with high prices. The prices are extremely reasonable and there is a large selection food on the menu. Next time while in the area we will definitely have a meal. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. This place is also dog friendly which is always a plus. Beautiful!

Such a lovely, relaxing visit after the crowds of Hampton Court Palace. I sat outside, but the inside was beautiful as well! Excellent food and service, exactly what I was looking for, just before getting back on the train. I especially appreciated the tasty vegan options available! Highly recommend.

Been here 4 times now and the food is excellent, a step above what you would expect from a pub. An interesting menu with new dishes every time. Venison pie was one of the best I've ever had. Very friendly service. Not cheap but worth it. Lovely atmosphere and decor.

Nice pub with good food! The red pepper hummus was delicious as were the padron peppers (although some were more roasted than others). For mains had a fish & chips and a beef bourguignon. Would recommend either. Spent around £23pp for food only.

What an amazing little venue. A gastro pub in Hampton Court. Excellent food. Great beverages. Sensational fit out. Indoor and outdoor tables. They may be under staffed at times but it's worth a visit.
