Attractive seafront with well maintained historic buildings, an unusual castle and a pier. Plenty of places to eat and drink while enjoying the coastal views.

Deal waterfront has a dog ban from 9 each morning so early morning walks are full of dog walkers. There is a lot of things to do in the summer. They have free history tours, the Time ball Tower and restaurants and pubs. At night you can see the lights of Calais. The pier is full of fisher folk, walkers and there is a tearoom. For a quiet holiday its a good spot.

I came here yesterday, after a 40 year absence, and was really surprised as to how Deal has flourished since my departure. It has become gentrified and many of the properties fronting the beach are pleasing on the eye. The steeply shelving, shingle beach, with fishing boats winched above the tideline is really attractive and unusual.

Deal sea front still retains the old Victorian seaside features. The people are a credit to their community - always welcoming polite and friendly. Beautiful shingle beaches with steep shelving, so maybe not one for the little ones if they want a day by the sea making sand castles. Fantastic fish and chip shops on the sea front but the best chippy imo is the Golden Grill. Lovely pier and loads of places to explore.

lovely walking area
We had a lovely walk along the front, and did some geocaching on the way. Loads of people walking dogs, which was great, and everyone was smiling and very friendly.

Nice
Always seems to be kept clean but is a pebble beach and there are many better sandy beaches a bit further round the coast but the town and shops are really nice

Fabulous place in the summer
Totally love deal beach, so many kind people here, they all smile.
There is a drop tho , so be careful if your not a good swimmer.
Dog mess not too bad on the beach and not much fishing wire, early morning is best and winter time it’s a different world, the sea breaks the beach and comes over.
The sea wall isn’t good enough to keep it back. I have seen waves go up 30 ft after hitting the sea walls.
Deal has got local groups which tidy the beach up , plant bedding in.
Nearly every street has been brought up by London’s which use them on Airbnb,
Pushing up prices for the locals.
There is a good selection of coffee shops.
The public toilets are disgusting, I would suggest go anywhere them those.
The local council spent thousands of pounds on keeping the homeless out of there town hall and haven’t made any improvements in the town like the toilets and even Walmer ones are just as bad.
The town centre is full with coffee shops and estate agents , charity shops and not much else, most of the local have to drive out of the town to do there shopping.
There is a Sainsbury’s in the town and a few vegetable greengrocers shops and two local butchers selling, a few local churches which are great, the local Catholic Church in the town near the sea front is good if you go to the 9am service as if you go to any other service, your get the a dry sense of humour from the local priest or something else which hasn’t got anything about the gospel but more about Champagne , Sports cars and the cricket and lot of other meaningless stuff. So probably good if you’re not interested in growing your faith and just want to go somewhere entertaining on a Sunday in town for free.
If you don’t fancy church there a few others things to go to , time ball tower is a bit of history and there is even a little history museum down a side street near the town hall, there is a pretty good bus and taxis service in the town. It’s small enough at the moment to walk every where tho.
I pop down to see my friends and family here, which is nice

Deal is a beautiful seaside town which hasn't been spoilt by being overly commercialised. In town you'll still find a lot of independent shops along with some of the larger well known retail chains.

Lovely seaside town. Not a tourist hotspot, so very local and relaxed. Lovely cafés and a great fish and chips restaurant on the beach front. Nice beach and pier.
Lovely afternoon by the sea.
